My other cat, Chelsea, tried to trip me the other day as I was passing by her. She reached out her front paw (with her claws retracted) and grabbed my shin right down by where it joins my foot. She wasn't trying to kill me---more like she was trying to keep me from running away and not feeding her when she was begging! xp
