[ PLOT ] Trapped!

...That was an odd remark.

Texas did manage to catch the mumbled comment, and opened an eye back up to look at the shadowy Kane in curiosity. He was oblivious and obnoxious now? But he only wanted to make sure that Kane was fine before he worried about himself, and there was no way he could be sure that Kane was fine until he knew that Kane had consumed his food and didn't end up regurgitating it. Or, perhaps Kane would have something more to say tonight. While it was good not to reveal too much of one's thoughts at once, sometimes these tired moments were when someone wanted to get the most off their chest, so they could have a more relaxed sleep through the night.

But apparently Kane was done for the night, insisting that he wasn't going to provide any more 'entertainment.' Texas wasn't at all entertained by Kane's behavior; the feral demon suddenly sounded a lot more hostile than he did before, and while it seemed to be more natural behavior, he couldn't help wondering what suddenly jerked him to act this way.

...Well, apparently, it had something to do with the fact that he was supposedly oblivious and obnoxious, but he wasn't too sure where Kane was talking about. Still, if Kane actually wanted to get some sleep, this wasn't the best time to pursue it. Kane should get some rest after a large emotional spilling like that. Since he knew that Kane couldn't possibly be asleep yet--no one fell asleep instantaneously--he replied, "Kane, 'entertainment' is the wrong word. Get some rest, you'll feel more refreshed in the morning." He offered a smile before heading out of the room, leaving the door slightly ajar as he headed in the opposite direction of the kitchen.

No, he was headed for the stairs. There was someone else who too needed his help at the moment.

Not knowing his comments were taken so personally, Kane lay still, eyes shining in the darkness. Even if he had, he might not have cared anyway at the moment. He was pissed at suddenly being treated like an ignorant child. He'd had an exhausting night, both physically and emotionally. The emotionally draining portion was likely worse, considering how foreign it was. He hadn't figured out how to deal with that yet. Physical exhaustion, he had plenty of experience with.

Still, while Kane may have been far from his best, all considering, he was still far from ignorant. His feral instincts and senses were actually quite skilled in using to read other Pae'il. He just didn't use them for that purpose very often.

Something was...off about the whole situation.

Disturbing revelations tonight aside. As soon as Kane had tried to turn the spotlight off of himself, it was like Texas stopped listening completely. As if, he refused to acknowledge any questions or comments about himself, fixating instead on Kane only. It was weird and more than a little bit creepy, especially for the demonic feline who hated attention. Worse yet, was how he'd stopped treating Kane like an equal and instead more like a child. Talking down to him, reprimanding him...in full health, Kane would have likely lost patience and resorted to violence towards the other demon for such insulting behavior.

Pausing to take a deep sigh, Kane relaxed some of the tension developing in his limbs. The way it looked, he was stuck here for a while, at least until the monsoon slacked off or stopped. Might as well make the best of things and try not to create more drama to make the situation unbearable while he was trapped here. With a soft sigh, he settled in for the night, tail flicking absentmindedly as the tiger sank into a much-needed deep sleep, this time, un-plagued by nightmares...
