Have you ever seen a movie where you actually felt like you were in the movie? If so, what movie was it and how did you feel?
For me, it was the Pianist. The story about the pianist, Wladyslaw Spzilman who survived the Holocaust. Talk about emotional roller coaster! No movie has ever scared me like the Pianist did. There were times where my heart was racing because I was so scared for the main character. The whole time I felt panic, sadness, sympathy, and fear at the same time! I saw it in my history class and we were all freaking out because it's so intense and brutal. It doesn't just pull your heart strings. It yanks them. At the end of the movie I was numb because I had gone through so many emotions.
It's a very good but heavy movie. My recommendation is see it with the lights on and a friend or two because you will cry. You probably shouldn't watch it in the morning or noon because then you'll be depressed for the rest of the day.

The most recent film that had that effect on me was Watchmen. I really felt immersed in it's alternate version of the 80's. I totally forgot that I was watching a movie, both times I saw it. It almost seemed like real life, to me. When the credits rolled, it was almost jarring to find myself sitting in a theater with people around me.

It's a pity this film doesn't get more love.

Avatar in 3-D. It was just so intense, and the creatures were so fascinating. It was fast paced, but it didn't feel like it was rushed.

It has a familiar kind of feel to the story, almost like I could relate to it (even though it is sci-fi) and I felt connected to the main character on a whole new level for computer generated movies...

It's so fascinating, and in 3-D, it really feels like you are there, right next to the characters.

I hate to be cliche, but Avatar totally did it for me.

A couple of times I had to remind myself I was in the theater and look away from the screen for a second.

I'm sure the 3D helped, but man, I was into it.
