Turns out that the modern humans that came from Africa were a race that did not have the ability to communicate via speech like we can today, or think like we can. In fact, the cave men Neanderthals were actually smarter than they were!
Scientists have found the genes enabling speech and language development, as well as cognitive development, within the Neanderthal genome. This means that without interbreeding with our cave man cousins, we would not have become the intelligent. language-capable species that we are today.
And to call someone a Neanderthal is just stating the obvious since every single human being on the planet has Neanderthal blood and genes. eek
