[PRP] Who's this? (Rune and Paloma)

Rune slowly came out of the lake. His fins slowly melded into two pairs of legs as he waited. "I'll never get used to that." He chuckled to himself. He then walked into the forest. He felt like exploring today.

Rune walked over to some trees. He looked at them and shook his head, "Lake trees are prettier." Rune wasn't used to living above ground, but he knew he should.  

[Menelie]

Paloma crawls about. She isn't sure where she came from or where she should be, but being here would work for now. Wide eyes explore her surroundings.

But she's bored by herself. She wants some company.

Which is why she's delighted when she sees a brightly-colored person-type walk around. "Aawaa!" she cries, giggling. She crawls faster to try to get to the person-type.

Rune turns as he hears a soft sound. "What is that sound?" He asked himself. It was soft, but like a voice. How odd, he thought for sure he was alone.

Rune looked and saw nothing, when he started to walk again, he was sure he heard movement. He turned around again and saw a baby crawling after him. "What's this? Where did you come from, where are your parents?" He asked the crawling fae, he wasn't sure it could answer, but he asked anyway.  

[Menelie]

Ooh, the person-type could talk! "Nngaa!" she exclaims happily, sitting back on her fat baby rump. She giggles and makes grabby hands for him. "Pehr!" Which of course, as any smart person would know, means she wants up. Up to see the world from an up-there sort of point of view.

Rune couldn't help but smile as the little one made noises and raised it's arms. "I suppose you want up?" He hoped he was right, he hadn't been around little ones before. He reached down and got the baby secure in his arms. "Now, I wonder what I should do with you?" What do you do with a lost baby? Go to the HQ?  

[Menelie]

Paloma rocks back and forth in his arms, looking around. She had been absolutely right, this is a much better view, from an up-here sort of vantage. She claps her pudgy hands in the big person-type's face to show how pleased she is.

Ooh! A thingy! A shiny thingy! "Geh!" she exclaims, pointing at a small bird.

Rune smiled as the child seemed happier. She clapped in his face and then tried to talk. He looked to where she was pointing, "A bird?" He asks. What was he going to do with this child. "I'm going to take you to the HQ ok?" Usually lots of pae hang out there hopefully someone would know who this cutie belongs too. Rune started off for the HQ.  

[Menelie]

Paloma fusses and wiggles when the big person-type moves away from the shiny thingy. "Burd!" she echoes, trying to get him to stop. "Burd?"

Rune stops as the baby mimics him, "Bird?" He turned around to face the bird again. "Do you want to see the bird?" He thought it was rather urgent that he find this baby's family, but he didn't want it to start crying either! So he stopped and let it look.  

[Menelie]

Paloma nods and rocks back and forth happily. "Burd!" She exclaims, pointing to where the little bird had been. Where'd it go? She looks around. "Burd?" she asks, lifting her arms in a shrug.
Oh well. She amuses herself by tracing the pink spots on the big person-type's chest with one finger.

Rune looked up to the spot and it was gone. She said "bird" much better this time. "Well, I'm sure it will come back. Maybe we should sit and wait?" Also, maybe the parents will come by this spot if he waited? Rune then started to giggle as the little fae tickled him. "That tickles!"  

[Menelie]

"Ti-klz?" asks Paloma, tipping her head and pausing in her doodling. She rocks back and forth in his arms again, looking around and sucking on her bottom lip. "Bird?"

She yawns and leans her head on his shoulder, wrapping her chubby arms around his neck.

"Yeah, tickles." How do you explain what that means? He wasn't sure so he left it. He then looked up and tried to scout out another bird for her. "There!" There was a small bird hopping from limb to limb in the tree across from them. Just as he said this he felt her wrap her arms around his neck. Rune couldn't help but smile. How nice! He had never really had this feeling before, it felt good.  

[Menelie]

"Mm?" asks Paloma, turning her head on his shoulder to look. Her soft curls brush his skin and he can feel her breathing. "Burd?" She points lazily--her energy had gone. For now.

Rune smiled, "Yeah, another bird." He felt her breathing slow and her curls tickled his skin. "Are you tired? Hungry?" He asked the little one. He wait to see if she reacted to one of the questions. What was he going to do? He didn't know anything about children, let alone lost ones.
