I think anyone can put random phrases or words together.
I hate poetry.

No offense Indorororororo but this. This so much.

It's really not random

Maybe I shouldn't have translated them the way I did. It makes them seem a little more random. There are quite a few rules I have to follow in Japanese. Grammar is less flexible and syllables are far more containing.

The reason I've never cared for haiku before is that I agreed with your ideas of poetry being random phrases that people over analyse. The accomplishment is more creating poetry in Japanese than in English. I think perhaps the translations distracted from that. I'll translate them more directly.

Otherwise, 簡単だたら、日本語で俳句を書いて下さい。

And lol at anybody saying that it doesn't follow form or whatever - poetry is poetry. You do whatever the ******** you want.

I suppose seeking appreciation for Japanese poetry from people that can't read it is digging for gold in a coal mine neutral

Lol maybe.

I do like it in English, though. I can't appreciate it in Japanese BUT I did notice right away that the symbols matched up. 3-5-3. :3

Actually, in Japanese haiku, it's not whatever you want. Haikus don't have any rules in English besides 5-7-5, but they do in Japanese.

Well, yeah. :3 But for the English parts you can do what you wanna.

Iii like them. Haikus are my favorite kind of poetry. I wish I could understand the Japanese ones but I enjoy your translations. XD
