Temple of Kirin (Open)

As you walk down the barely visible dirt path, you hear the sounds of nature all around you. The wind through the leaves, the birds singing their various calls, and the sounds of water nearby. As you push through a curtain of vines, you see a bridge in front of you.



It looks like a rather old bridge, as if it had been there for years, but is very well maintained for its age. Fish of various colors swim about in the water below, going about their daily lives. As you continue on, you see as you come to the top of a rise, what appears to be a temple built up among the tree branches. There is a large, log ramp that leads up to the entrance of the temple.





Qui-Lyn looks around at each candidate with a careful gaze, as if deciding who would be worthy to advance in rank and who would not.



Solarian kneels next to a regal looking wooden throne, watching those that came and went from the temple carefully.

Unicous - Highest rank attainable. These are those that are most trusted by the Goddess to keep peace in her temple. -Only obtainable by Kirin species. (thanks to kt for suggesting this)

Kyryanal - Second highest rank attainable. These are for those that prove themselves excellent defenders of the helpless. -Obtainable by any race.

Qui-Yan - The lowest rank attainable. There can be many of these and they perform many different menial tasks until they prove themselves worthy enough to advance. -Obtainable by any race.



~*Information about the Kirin (Qilin)*~

The Qilin (Chinese: pinyin: qílín; Wade-Giles: ch'i-lin), also spelled Kirin (from Japanese) or sometimes Kyrin, is a mythical hooved Chinese chimerical creature known throughout various East Asian cultures, and is said to appear in conjunction with the arrival of a sage. It is a good omen that brings rui (ruì; roughly translated as "serenity" or "prosperity" ) . It is often depicted with what looks like fire all over its body. It is sometimes called the "Chinese unicorn" due to conflation with the unicorn by Westerners.

Although it looks fearsome, the Qilin only punishes the wicked. It can walk on grass yet not trample the blades and it can also walk on water. Being a peaceful creature, its diet does not include flesh. It takes great care when it walks never to tread on any living thing, and it is said to appear only in areas ruled by a wise and benevolent leader (some say even if this area is only a house). It is normally gentle but can become fierce if a pure person is threatened by a sinner, spouting flames from its mouth and exercising other fearsome powers that vary from story to story.

Some stories state that the Qilin is a sacred pet (or familiar) of the deities. Therefore, in the hierarchy of dances performed by the Chinese, the Qilin ranks highly; second only to the Dragon and Phoenix who are the highest.

The Kirin are sweet-natured and have an extraordinary healing ability. They love to help others.



The RenP is a male only race though sometimes it's hard to tell because he likes being pretty.

Qui-Lyn looks slowly around her temple, noting little bits of dust here and there from how long it had been since any living being had set foot into her place of worship. She heaves a small sigh, tail flicking slightly as she awaits the arrival of any mortals that wished to worship there.

Solarian watches his mate as he kneels beside her throne, his head within easy petting distance if she should decide to reach out to him. It was a position he took great pride in, being one of the only beings in all the cosmos to make his love even semi-happy, and one he happened to take to extremes sometimes, as his current position and mode of dress suggests.

Monet looked up at the sky as she walked, her mind wandering to what flavors of her favorite candy she'd yet to try. After a few moments she shook her head while pausing in her walk. Just ahead of her was a bridge. Moving toward it she saw the many fish in the water under it. It amused her to see all the colors. Deciding to see what else lay beyond the bridge, the fae traveled closer to the temple.

Qui-Lyn smiles serenely, feeling the presence of another Kirin coming slowly closer to the temple she and her Angelique waited in. "I do hope this is a worshipper, but we will be polite and welcome them even if they are merely lost." She says pointedly to Solarian, knowing he could be extremely over-protective and crabby at times.

Solarian just nods, not liking the words, but willing to do as his master commands.

As she continued on ward, a temple began to come into view. The air seemed to calm her curiosity and make her conscious of what she might do. The blonde kirin slowed her approach as she reached the steps. Instinctively she had an inkling to what this place was, but having never been there before she couldn't be sure.

Qui-Lyn smiles again, watching just out of sight in the doorway to the temple, hoping the atmosphere was as welcoming to others as it felt to her.
