I'm in a semi-long distance relationship with my boyfriend. We see each other pretty often, but he doesn't live where I live.

I met this guy that I'd like to be friends with, and only friends. He knows I have a boyfriend and so far he hasn't done anything inappropriate, but its possible that he might like me. I'd like to be able to hang out with him more, but when its just the two of us I worry that it might be considered a "date" which I do not want. My question is, what counts as hanging out as friends and what counts as a date?
