I need a romance book.

So, I'm totally in the mood for romance. But not Twilight romance, of course. >.>
Recently, I've read Perfect Chemistry [again~] and Rules of Attraction [it's sequeal], and so now I'm totally in the mood for romance.
But...
-I don't like classics. D: So no Jane Austen please. I know she's a lovely author, but I'm just not into classics..
-No books that are in the 'romance' section. Those books scare me. >.> I like them in teen section.
-I HATE couples based on lust.
-Sex must come WAY late in the book. Like, towards the end.

EVERY book by Amelia Atwater-Rhodes except Persistence of Memory.
Nightworld series by L.J Smith
The Hunger Games and Catching Fire [I know, it's not ALL romance, but it has more than most action books]

Any suggestions? I like strong/stubborn characters, charming, funny side characters..I LOVE arguing couples. Love/Hate = True love. Um, my all time favorite couples are Rogue x Gambit and Gert x Chase, both Marvel couples, so yeah, I believe Marvel knows what the ******** they're doing...xD So if you can think of any couples like them, I'd love you forever. :]

Turtle Moon by Alice Hoffman.

Though, anything by Alice Hoffman is romantic in this hidden almost secret way. But it's so obvious in a way. I don't know how to explain it. Her writing is sexy in a way that isn't cheesy.
She's great.

I agree with the Alice Hoffman thing, but I would also suggest Incantation.

Hm. Alex Flinn is a good writer... Beastly was about romance, pretty much, and there was no sex whatsoever... I guess Breathing Underwater had some, too, but it was...Odd to say the least.

Beauty by Robin McKinley was good.

It's the one I'm currently reading, and it's no ordinary love story. :3
I'm only like a little over half of the book, but it's already better than the film. One of my favorite boos already.

Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon

It's seven books long right now. I haven't read the seventh one yet, but the story is just amazing. If you like romance, action, historical fiction, and an abundance of fantastic characters, I recommend this series.

I liked LJ Smith's Nightworld stuff too, although I was really disappointed they were all so short! D: In terms of stubborn characters and romance, try the Vampire Academy series. I know it sounds cliched because of the vampire thing, but the protagonist is an awesome character. She's stubborn and she knows it. ;D

Hm. That's all I got for now, sorry. But I really think you might like the Vampire Academy stuff. 3nodding
