Intro

Here is where some information about the herd will be told.

Who started it?
Not originally in his plans in life, but the herd will be/is founded by a half-breed named, Rinji. Being half-kalona, he was exiled by his father because of the pressure coming from the others of their herd. An outcast at a young age, he set off to roam the lands until he found an area he can call his own or where he would be accepted for who and what he was. Little did he know, that he was destined to meet and lead others with similar happenstances.

As the years passed, he grew into a Stoical, yet strong stallion as well as stepped into a new land that seemed promising. One day, he came across an odd sight. A lone basket. Perplexed, he went over to investigate the scene, cautiously watching for possible guardians or owners. Stepping up to the bright basket, Rinji lowered his head to it, only to be surprised by flames erupting from the basket's brim. He thought it was odd but he would not bring himself to leave the basket by itself, even if its keepers were nearby. While he waited, another "oddity" happened by. Where he was from, he never saw a full grown horse so small, but still offered the Usdia a greeting. The two conversed for some time, mainly about the basket, before another joined them. This time a small mare, but as a flutter, her stature was more understandable to the larger stallion. It seems she was looking for the basket and upon hearing this, relieving himself of his guardian duty and going on his way.

Every now and then, the three would join together for the day and talk or just give the foal in the basket more company. When the foal finally emerged, they settled on sticking together in their travels so they wouldn't always have to go out of their way to meet with each other. So, that's how the herd came to be.

What is the herd about?
The Udehohisdi herd isn't about anything in particular since each herd member may have a different belief than the other. No, the herd is just where a soquili who has become an outcast or has been exiled, whether from their herd or just their family, can find a "place" for them where they won't be viewed as different.

What would be considered an "outcast"? Well, anyone who was removed or shunned from a group. Anyone who is looked down upon, feared by, or detested by anyone as well. These could include unfavorable half-breeds or mutants. They could have willingly separated themselves from others by running away, or because they felt they were physically or even, perhaps, mentally different. Others might be ashamed or be frowned upon because of their sexual orientation. Whatever the reason, this herd offers a "home" to them until they, as a whole, find their own land or until the individual finds on of their own or where they are accepted.

Setting

Since most of the members were exiled from their groups, the herd doesn't have one place in particular to settle as of yet. Because of this, they are nomadic and roam from place to place, resting wherever possible.

Standards

Here is where what is or is not allowed and the view points. It also states how certain things are dealt with and how to go about doing other things.

Beliefs
Because the herd is made up of individuals from different lands and families, not all members will have the same beliefs. That is fine and nothing will be forced upon any one else, just as long as no fights break out among the members. One can say that one belief they have is the belief in anything they want.

Gender
There is no discrimination between males and females, so both are able to join the herd. Now the Alpha doesn't believe in a hierarchy, where one gender has more power than the other, but will not stop others from feeling and doing such as long as it does not cause trouble. Any gender can take any rank in the herd as long as they do the job well. So if a stallion wants to be a nanny or even a mid-wife, if he knew what he was doing, there will be no objections.

Species
Because most are unaccepted because of what they are, the herd is open to allow any type of soquili. Even regulars, unis, flutters and others that may not seem "abnormal" will be welcomed among the herd. The same with gender, any species can fill any position in the herd.

Orientation
No individual will be rejected because of what gender they are attracted to. The Alpha would be a hypocrite if that were to happen.

Humans/Two-leggers/Keepers(Owners)
The Udehosidi's views vary among the horses that it comprises of. The Alpha has no qualms against humans as long as they do not do any harm to him or any other members of the herd. As long as they do this and be wary of the soquili who may not approve of humans, they are welcome around the herd.

Soquili owned by humans will still be accepted into the herd, but might be questioned more as to why. The keeper will be allowed to stay with their horse as well, but there is no guarantee that they may or may not be attacked. Any attacks on humans, whether in the herd or not, will be frowned upon and will count as the soquili's one and only strike. If the soquili does not want to risk being expelled from the herd, the best course to take is to just avoid the human(s).

This rule to accept and allow humans in the herd will always be in effect, unless the count against it ever outnumbers the count for the rule.
Fighting
Now because of the different view points and standards each individual may have, arguments will be expected from time to time, hence why the herd has mediators to help get in between them so they don't escalate. But physical fighting is not tolerated nor allowed, mainly because the herd does not want injuries among the members. If any member is found or reported to have participated in any form of combat with another, no matter who started it, both will get only one warning. If a member has been previously warned and repeats this offense, they will unfortunately be kicked out from the herd. If on is removed from the herd, it is possible to rejoin, but they have to prove that they will not fight again.

Joining
It is not difficult to join the Udehohisdi herd. One can simply locate the Alpha and ask him personally or follow another herd member to the group and ask from there. A simple question of why one feels as if they need to join the herd will be asked, but nothing else special will be required.

Roaming
Wandering from the herd from time to time is perfectly fine. Staying with the group is not enforced at all, nor is the guarantee of returning to it.

Leaving
If one wishes to leave the herd, they can do so whenever. It will be nice if the individual would announce their departure and the reason, but it isn't needed. All one has to do is just leave.

Now any regular herd member can go without any tasks to do, but if one held a certain rank or position in the herd, then they have to make sure all the duties they had left to be done are finished and possibly have or suggest someone for their replacement.

Lifemating
Lifemating is highly cheered and encouraged, but not enforced. Love is never going to be discouraged as long as the other involved isn't related or too young. If love is found within the herd, that is fine, as long as it is announce so the others are aware of the new pair and there are no troubles caused. When love is found outside of the herd and the decision of becoming lifemates is made, another choice now has to be decided on. Either the member of the herd can leave with his or her new mate to start a new family or join her herd if allowed, or he or she can bring their new partner into the herd with them.

Breeding
What one does in their lives is their own business. So if that entails having a breeding, with lifemate or a fling, then no one will stop them, unless one was causing problems; like trying to breed with someone else' mate.
There is no different point of views about whether a breeding occurs inside or outside of the herd besides what to do with the foals that result from them. It is only when a breeding occurs outside the herd, when something matters. When foals arrive and are placed in baskets, the parent can bring theirs or the whole family to the herd or remain away until the foals emerge, where, then they can return to the herd with foal and/or family in tow or just remain away from the herd for a certain amount of time or for an infinite time.

When foals are expected inside the herd and are arriving, the expecting mare can either have the foals by herself, or have the herd mid-wife help with the birth. While in baskets and even as foals, there are nannies to watch over them while the parent is away or raise them if the real parent(s), lack the responsibility to do it on their own, whether the foals were born inside the herd or not. When a foal reaches adolescence (Owner's decision), they can decide on their own if they want to remain with the herd or go off on their own. If they decide to leave and wish to return at a later time, they will still be welcomed in.

Positions
In the Udehohisdi herd there are a few ranks and positions that make living in the herd easier and safer. Most have an Alpha and Beta role to ensure order in the herd and so one another do not get in over their heads with responsibilities and tasks.
If any wished to apply for a certain position, all one would have to do is ask the Alpha for it and prove that they are well suited for the job. He is not going to assign the title of nanny to someone who despises foals. It is relatively easy to get the rank, unless one wished to be the Beta. Since the Beta is second in command and takes on the responsibilities of the Alpha while he's away or if, unfortunately killed, it is clear that it is important to find the right one to fill the spot.
As stated before, there are a few positions that have the rank of both Alpha and Beta for that certain job. Even the three without; the Warriors, the Messengers, and the Mediators can have two lead ranks as well, but that is up to them to decide on their own. To those who hold these positions, they can either be promoted, demoted or removed altogether. Once can be promoted; by the Alpha of the position relinquishing their spot, being demoted, or in the worse scenario, being killed or died. They can also be promoted by proving themselves worthy or able to do the higher tasks. To be demoted, one can either step down themselves, or fail at their duties and be made to step down. As far as it concerns being removed from their job, it is very rare that it would to occur, unless one fails miserably at their job or puts anyone at risk because of any wrong action they may take. Quitting one's position is allowed. One can just step down and let someone else (perhaps the Beta) take their place while they take theirs or another role, or, they can just not have a role in general. Note, that if one does step down as an Alpha of a position and there is no Beta, it would be nice if one had a replacement for them or at least a suggestion

Alliances
When it comes to others, whether a herd, a family group, or even a single soquili, the Udehosidi herd is welcoming to them. As long as no harm is inteded, the Alpha does not mind sharing resourcs with others, if the herd happen to have it. Because of this, the Udehosidi is willing to settle on alliances and share with others rather than fight over something.

No matter how generous or "placid" the Alpha may seem, taking him or the herd for granted will not be tolerated. If it is found, that any in alliance with the herd, is doing this sort of thing, all ties will be severed and the group or individual will be shunned for more than likely an indefinate amount of time.

If one is truly interested in becoming an ally with the herd, all one must do is simply talk to the Alpha or send a messenger with the request and the reason(s), as well as what they could possibly offer the herd as well, if available.

Positions

Here is where the positions and ranks of the Udehohisdi herd will be listed, explained and if the spot is open or not.

Alpha
The Alpha is the leader of the herd. They make the decisions; like whether to start traveling, where they go, where and when they rest and other things of that nature. They also make decisions concerning the herd members, such as, whether one can get a certain position or not. The Alpha also settles disputes, but it is usually a last resort for when the assigned mediators cannot do it themselves. They are also on the front lines with the warriors in the case of physical disputes and help with the protector's duties to keep their herd members safe.
Position filled by: Rinji

Beta
The Beta is second in command and shares many of the responsibilities of the Alpha. While the Alpha is around, they can give suggestions on when to leave, where to go and when/where to rest. It is when the Alpha is away or worse, they can order the herd themselves. The Beta also confers with the Alpha about important decisions. If the Alpha is busy with other duties, the herd members can go to the Beta. The Beta is also on the front line with the Alpha and warriors, as well as helps the protectors.
Position filled by: Open

Protector (Alpha & Beta)
The protector, whether the Alpha or Beta, is in charge of staying along the outside of the herd and guarding them from any outside attacks, and breaking up any inside attacks. They also keep everyone from falling behind. They help keep the more violent members in line so they don't cause trouble or harm to others. The protectors have the warriors for back up, especially when needed for bigger battles. Even though there aren't any rank specific duties for the Alpha and Beta, there are two, so their responsibilities can be shared and choices can be talked out between them and so on.
Alpha position filled by: Maddox
Beta position filled by: Open

Scouter (Alpha & Beta)
The role of the Scouter, both Alpha and Beta, is to inspect the surrounding area. They're on the lookout for threats in the form of predators, venomous animals, treacherous terrain or hostile Soquili. They're also observing the lands for places to rest or even an area they can call their own and settle down. If they locate any of these things, they alert the Alpha and the Beta, or the Protectors and Warriors (depending on the situation) so they can do what is needed. There are no rank specific duties, there is an Alpha and Beta just for the sake of more 'eyes' to observe things. More can join if the two wish for more help.
Alpha position filled by: Regina Mary
Beta position filled by: Open

Herd Mid-wife (Alpha & Beta)
The her mid-wife, both Alpha and Beta ranks, are there to help any expecting mares with birth. This help can just be support for the mother to be, especially if the father isn't around, or actually help with the birth. It is also up to them to some how provide baskets to put the delivered foals in, preferably before the arrival. There is an Alpha and Beta rank so that one doesn't get overburdened, despite how highly unlikely it may be. More can join if the need arises.
Alpha position filled by: Blissful [Will step down to Beta if someone else wants this position]
Beta position filled by: Open

Head Nanny
The head nanny is like the Alpha of the group of nannies. They are usually the one that foals, sometimes baskets go to first, before being assigned to one of the other nannies if the parent(s) wished for them to be raised by them or baby sat. The head nannies make sure that everything is going well; there is order, all while the foals and baskets are being tended to. Now, just because they assign foals/baskets to other nannies, doesn't mean they don't watch any themselves.
Position filled by: Open

Nanny
The job of the nanny is to watch the foals of the herd while the parent(s) are away, or raise the foals, and sometimes even baskets, if the parent(s) doesn't want them. They see to it that the young ones don't stray too far and stay with the herd. They also see to it that they get enough food and water. If raising the foals, they have to be sure that they learn right and wrong, as well as the rules and ways of the herd. Each nanny has their own specific number of baskets and foals they can raise and can never be assigned more than the total unless the need arises or the number changes with experience. There are four positions, but more can join if the Head Nanny sees the need.
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Open

Mediator
The Mediator's task is to settle disputes between individuals of the herd before they escalate to physical violence. If violence has already occurred, they counsel with the parties involved to try to resolve the matter before it occurs again and they have to leave the herd. Their main job is to keep the peace, followed by restoring it. There are two positions, but more can join if wished.
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Hitomi

Warrior
In the case of a large battle, it is the duty of the warriors to go with the Protectors, Alpha and the Beta, to defend the herd. Very rarely will they be used for minor threats, but they can be called to do so if the Protectors or even the Alpha commands so. In the case that the Protectors, Alpha and Beta fail to fend off a threat, whether they choose to retreat or are defeated, the warriors are the next line of defense. There are only six, but more can be added as the herd gets larger and the protectors wish it.
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Open

Messenger
Just like the name implies, the messenger is one that goes back and forth between herds and other groups, conveying messages and announcements. The task of being messenger isn't without some risks. The journey can be treacherous, filled with threats, or just be rather long. One must be able to traverse these journeys without qualms. There are only three, but more can be added if needed.
Position filled by: Faith
Position filled by: Open
Position filled by: Open

Herd member
The herd members are the horses that don't have a specific title or task to do, but even the ones that do are also considered herd members. This does not mean that they are any less important. Their opinions matter and a simple herd member can take a position at any time, as the ones who have a position can choose to drop that title and become a herd member at any time.
Position filled by: Everyone in the herd and is always open.

Who Applied

Here is where it will list all the new members who applied to join.

[.Silvr-Moon.]
Hey! Look, I'm following you!

Soquili's name: Kismet
Soquili's image: User Image
Reason for wanting to join: I really like the basis of this Herd, and I really like how it seems so free. I really like how even though members basically still have their free lives, they're still a untied herd. Also, I really appreciate the fact that this herd takes in outcasts and live as one whole family, which is what those horses had lost.
Position wanted, if any: Not right now, but if needed or necessary, I'm willing to rise Kismet to a Messenger.
Reason why you (the Soquili's point of view) would be good for the job: I...I don't think I'm responsible enough just yet to become so dependable within this herd, and I don't mind being just a member. This could be the home I've been searching for all this time, maybe I could even find some friends or....Yet, if I were to become this rank of "Messenger", I think that'd be nice, too. I'm good at traveling, and I like to be alone sometimes. I could travel all over the land, see all kinds of horses; but I don't think I could handle the herd's reliability like that just yet...
Want a "Joining the herd" RP? Sure! Not necessary if you guys cannot find time, but I'd be willing to have one.
If yes, with who? Whoever you'd like! Kismet and I don't have any real preference for who.
Will you be willing to RP with others who join after you do? Of course I would!

Urimian
Hey! Look, I'm following you!

Soquili's name: Judas
Soquili's image: User Image
Reason for wanting to join: He's a Kalona/Wind Crossbreed. His mom got killed and his dad was exiled, so, yeah,
Position wanted, if any: anything will do!!!
Reason why you (the Soquili's point of view) would be good for the job: ...
Want a "Joining the herd" RP? Yes
If yes, with who? Anyone will do
Will you be willing to RP with others who join after you do? yes
Also, he will always be accompanied by his Owner. Is that ok?

GallusDomesticus
Hey! Look, I'm following you!

Soquili's name: Lucifer Von Helson
Soquili's image: User Image
Reason for wanting to join: Lucifer V. was never shunned or destested, but he's felt that way. He can feel his parents sadness about his homosexuality (and his bi-curiosity with mares.), so perhaps meeting others of the same nature/past would settle some spirits within himself. He is plotting a surrogacy plot between himself and Sweeney's Emiko, so he will go visit her frequently until the foal arrives. (AKA. lots of AIM RP until the slot is obtained. xD!)
Position wanted, if any: Herd-member. Lucifer is very shy, but has VERY strong spiritual views.
Reason why you (the Soquili's point of view) would be good for the job: N/A
Want a "Joining the herd" RP? Yes
If yes, with who? Anyone avalible.
Will you be willing to RP with others who join after you do? Of course~

Kaitaia
Hey! Look, I'm following you!

Soquili's name: Ravyn
Soquili's image: User Image
Reason for wanting to join: She doesn't really fit in anywhere, mostly because she doesn't really try to fit in, haha. Also, since she's based on my oc, who's in her verse, was Hell's messenger. This is a way for her to keep somewhat of that title, and have some purpose. She likes having a purpose.
Position wanted, if any: Messenger
Reason why you (the Soquili's point of view) would be good for the job: I have an innate sense of direction, and as I have wings, delivering messages will be much more efficient.
Want a "Joining the herd" RP? Doesn't matter to me~ x3 It could be interesting.
If yes, with who? Doesn't matter~
Will you be willing to RP with others who join after you do? Of course!

Snow_Leopard_Anthro
Hey! Look, I'm following you!

Soquili's name: Senshi
Soquili's image: User Image
Reason for wanting to join: Senshi has always been a loner since he 'accidentally' caused the death of his brothers during his colt-hood. I think he would be good with this herd because he could maybe finally overcome his fear of being around young foals and maybe manage to settle down eventually.
Position wanted, if any: Nanny
Reason why you (the Soquili's point of view) would be good for the job: 'I may be skittish around foals but I know I can at least teach them to have a kind heart and a sure sense of justice. In my skittishness I will always have a watchful eye for danger that could harm the foals.'
Want a "Joining the herd" RP? Yes
If yes, with who? Rinji
Will you be willing to RP with others who join after you do? Definitely.

Naysha Aysha
Hey! Look, I'm following you!

Soquili's name:Moonshine
Soquili's image: User Image ((cant find cert currently))
Reason for wanting to join: From his image Moonshine does not look like much but he is rather on the really large size. His mother is a mutant and his father is a regular soquili. Now if size wasn't enough to make him different he has a light sensitivity. During the day he wears a sheer blindfold just to be able to see. He sticks to the shade out of habit but with a little help he has started to be both a day and night walker.

Both of his siblings are more obvious mutants and seem distant to him. His father and mother seems to stick together and care for him but don't necessarily want him around all the time. Moonshine seems himself as a mutant and an outcast so tends to hide at first until he is sure you're ok with him.

There is no one in the world Moonshine would ever judge. You would have to do something pretty bad to him in order for him to even not trust you.

Currently he is looking for anyone to accept him spend time with him. Moonshine will likely follow and adore anyone who he views as a Mentor.
Position wanted, if any: Beta or Protector Beta
Reason why you (the Soquili's point of view) would be good for the job:
"Am I truly qualified for this job? Im not sure, but what I can tell you is that I care for everyone. Anyone who is willing to talk to me, spend a little time maybe, is worth risking my life for. I know this sounds dramatic but its how I truly feel. I'm no alpha, but I'm ready to do all I can for the herd with some guidance, I think...I can do this job with all my heart if you'll only give me the chance."
Want a "Joining the herd" RP? Y
If yes, with who? Rinji or Maddox depending on position he is picked for
Will you be willing to RP with others who join after you do? yes I wish to rp Moonshine a lot he is a character that speaks to me
