I'm considering starting up a campaign of my own here on the forums, but I figured I'd see what kind of interest there might be. Two general ideas kicking around in my head right now: 1) A Pathfinder RPG core only game, probably with airships in a more-or-less generic fantasy world to avoid wonky house rules 2) A d20 Modern action game using the Gestalt rules from Unearthed Arcana. I'm considering sticking to core here, too, though I may throw in a little of some other stuff. My main sticking point for d20 Modern is that I really don't have much love for the Wealth mechanic, and the forums seem like they'd be a poor way to deal with it - especially since I'd probably want to start at a level higher than first.
So, in general, which is more appealing to the folks on the forums. I'm hoping to create a campaign that actually runs for a bit here, whichever way it goes.

I think a Pathfinder game could be pretty cool.

I could play a pathfinder game... although I am more partial to the classes they just added in the Advanced Player's Guide. I like what they did with the base classes.

I'll jump in on this =3
Pathfinder is cool for me. Would you allow the new base classes?

I would like to play, but with my hand.... I think I will pass. Unless if you really need one more person.
As for the game style. I want to try out both of the systems, so ether or works for me.

I like pathfinder but after a bit, D&D is kinda the same classes and I need a small break. My votes with modern but in all honesty, I just need a game. *goes out and randomly chomps players in the guild*

True enough.
How would those interested in a d20 Modern game handle the acquisition of gear? I hate the Wealth mechanic something fierce.

Not sure about the wealth system. I like it but I'm not sure of an alternative.

Biggest complaint about the wealth system - a first level character can't buy a car. Even a beat up POS Gremlin or something - it's impossible for most first level PCs to own a car, despite the fact that most adults own a car pretty readily. The system just isn't very good.
