My biggest problem with this is the way his pelvis/bottom part of his body is positioned. By the looks of those pants creases at the bottom, he would be standing pretty weirdly. My suggestion would be to reposition that bottom part with the ground in mind, even if it isn't part of the picture.

Otherwise, this is pretty fantastic. Loving the dramatic lighting on his face and especially his hair.

Probably it gives that impression because of the coat....let me see if I can find the sketch of it....

No, no, this is what I mean. I threw in a red skeleton that just mimics the character's stance, and continued it a little more. The bottom pelvis is positioned in such a way that, if he were standing, it would either make him look effeminate or weird.

What I'm just saying is that when you're posing a character, even if it's just a half-body or less, be aware of the position of the legs, even if you're not drawing it in the canvas.
