I remember coming to this guild as a freshman.
I was panicking over being liked and dressing well.
Several of you told me it would be okay.
And it has been more than okay!

I miss this. Gaia. Chattin' with strangers.

I just graduated.
Grade 12 is complete.
Didn't even fall at the ceremony.
Right next to me is my diploma.

I got accepted to
Washington State University.
And I'm scared... but excited.

Forgive me for my long absences!
I have been though hell and back.
Long-overdue rantings will leak eventually.
I only hope that you guys will show up to support me,
despite all my faults and months away from the guild.

I love you. Come back. Come back to me...

Welcome back and congratulations. Just a heads up: college life is MUCH better than anything else you've done [school-wise].

Good. I'm ready to test myself.

Actually, when I told people I got accepted they all said, "You know that's a party school, right?"

And yes, that part makes me nervous.

Maybe I watch too much Law & Order...
But I am not the partying type.

Ya know?

The logic is simple, really. If you party too hard, your grades will suffer. Just remember that, and I'm confident you'll make the right decisions.

I think most schools are party schools. XD
You just do what you want to do. There will be other people like you. :3
Congrats!

Whoo!
Same situation as you!
I got accepted to Montana State University, but can't go due to money.
I'm going to a CC in the spring.
I wish you the best!

Good move. Community colleges are SO much cheaper than universities, and you get the same lower-division general education as you would in either. Only downside to community colleges is they lack campus life, which is a HUGE aspect of any school.

If you're not the partying time, I wouldn't worry. Going to a party school won't magically turn you into a party animal. XD; Just make sure you allow yourself enough time to sleep and work on your classes, and have fun with the rest whether it is partying (safely) or hanging with friends. x3
And yeah, any college is going to have a lot of partying anyway. I know mine isn't known for the parties, but I'm pretty sure there's a s**t ton of them. Most of it is just off campus.

I've found college to be so much more fun than high school myself. The professors are way more insane and amusing. You get to at least somewhat chose your own classes so you can find something that might interest you (or at least a professor that will - one professor saved me from being too bored in History class). Though everyone has different experiences. o:
But hopefully you'll find it fun. o:

I have an addictive personality.
I'm lucky to know this, of course.
It's better to be aware than in denial.

But- like Skateboarding, Photography, Softball, sneaking out, Harvest Moon, certain teenage-angst-filled songs, etc etc...

I will dive into it and focus on nothing else, then stop...

Well... maybe.

So, if I get into drinking, even a sip at one party, I'm bound to just become a party girl who fails at school.

...

It doesn't help that my family's full of alcoholics.

I think as long as you have the self-control not to start chugging alcohol automatically and going to every party you can regardless of your classes, you'll be fine. Even if you are more likely to become addicted to something, you have to let yourself become addicted in the first place and then perpetuate it. You can still go to parties and not drink. Just find friends who have similar desires, so you don't feel as if you have to.
Unless you don't think you have the self-control to not become a party girl, then you can just stay away from those types of parties. I'm sure there will be some non-alcoholic parties that are part of campus activities.
Realize your true limits and act accordingly.

@Pain: You're right. I did manage to sign up for a "dry" dorm... But I have no friends going. And because I've lived in the same town all my life, I'm not used to making new friends. I've always had my comfort place in all my schooling. AND the area itself is very different. It's either uber hot or uber cold, and it just so happens I only like the in-betweens.

BUT. I am ready to test myself.

-Salute-

@klynkz: Haha, GOOD. You should love me.

biggrin

Well, I got "It's a Wonderful Life". Hella legit.
My farm is called "Olympus", and all animals are named after Greek gods and goddesses.
My main character is Demeter- goddess of agriculture.

...

I know, right?!
