True story.
Mom's fault.
. . .
I was hyper as a child.
(What child isn't hyper?)
My mom thought my brain was broken.
There was only one open appointment for an IQ Test
for several months, so she signed me up.
I was very, very ill that day.
I'm talking 103 temperature.
But Sandra Phillips didn't want to wait.
So she took me to get the test anyway.
Guess what? Very low IQ score.
scream BECAUSE I HAD THE FLU, DAMN YOU! scream
So- Mommy stuck me in the Retard class.
For Kindergarten and the 1st Grade.
...
The bus pulled in to my driveway every morning.
And the bus driver buckled me in.
Mommy told me it was because we lived far away from the school.
One fateful day, my sophomore year in high school,
I was showing my best friend some pictures in the living room.
My mother was reading a book on the couch.
Bree: "Why is the bus in your driveway?"
Me: "Oh, we lived far away from the school."
Without any hesitation, my mom looks up and-
"Oh no, it was because you were in Special Ed."
-Like she hadn't been lying to me my whole life-

Best part? I look like the one who belongs.
I'm rockin' the 101 Dalmations sweater.
I'd bet that I was the one who wreaked havoc.
