Aria's trip to the hospital was mostly uneventful. The morning sun was poking through the clouds, birds were chirping between the trees, and dew lined the tops of grass. The fruit stand seller had a few extra batches of strawberries, which were kindly donated to Aria, for use at the hospital kitchen. Nudging the outside door open with a foot, she used her backside to keep it so as she swiveled the several boxes through the narrow portal. A few more steps inside, and she was now at the secretary's desk. "Good morning! Old man Jim, the fruit seller, says to give these to the kitchen," the shrine maiden greeted, a gentle smile crossing her lips. Thinking back to the previous night, were Auntie and Hoshi-san still here?

The girl mentioned something about breaking her arm, and Akarui frowned. She cleared her throat, holding her hands up, "Right, well, I'm only a newbie, but I can do at least something for that." She made a few hand seals and then placed her hands gently over the little girl's arm. She closed her eyes and focused her chakra on the girl's arm in hopes of lessening the severity of the break. She was trying her best to be careful and not touch the girl's arm, in fear of hurting her.
She looked up at Mi, her eyes searching for some sort of approval, but the woman seemed to have zoned out. Aka only sighed and continued to work on the girl's arm. She smiled softly as she saw the small lacerations on the girl's arm begin to heal, meaning that the jutsu was working. She kept talking to the girl, trying to keep her calm as she worked. She talked about anything and everything she could think about.
It didn't seem long for the jutsu to finish, when she pulled her hands away all the cuts on the surface had been completely healed. Akarui asked the little girl about the pain in her arm and smiled brightly when the small child told her that it went down. She got on her feet once again, thanking the small child for letting her heal her, and then sent her off with a nurse to her room. She turned to Mi and smiled brightly, dusting her hands off. The effects of this technique are limited to superficial cuts and injuries though it can reduce the severity of more serious injuries.
The delivery finished, Aria set about to the smallest of daily tasks, minor ones that did not need for her to be in scrubs. She moved from wing to wing, tending to the flowers in vases, fixing curtains, and giving quiet conversations to awake guests. It was quite some time before she came across the room with Auntie and Hoshi-san, but the morning sun was still low for the day. Aria had a new batch of carnations in one hand, their vibrant colors sure to do the next patient well. Catching the door as the little girl left, she entered with a smile. "Hoshi-san, Mi-sama, good morning. Have you two been here all night?" The lean maiden tilted her head to the side, concern filling her eyes.

Watching her newest charge work, Mi had sort of started to wander. Her mind elsewhere. There was a lot she had to do suddenly. A lot of issues that needed looking into. Sypher was cruel in his assignment of new students. While the Konin understood the need for the Genin to be properly guided to the next level she did not appreciate being blindsided like this. Keeping one hand on her lower belly, she focused on the task at hand. The little girl she had received from the nurse had been in good hands, Hoshi tending to the girl efficiently. She was two into the training and Jae was anticipating the next part of Hoshi's training. It would be darker, much darker but it was necessary to push. Hopefully the staff was ready for what Mi was about to unleash.
A voice cut through her thoughts, Mi unable to compliment Hoshi on her work. Turning her gaze and fixing it on the familiar voice Mi was slightly shocked. It had been a long time since she had last seen Aria. Scrunching up her nose slightly, as if she had smelled a bad odor, Mi immediately addressed the issue of formality between Aria and herself. "No need for Sama. I am no longer bound to protocols as stuff as those any longer." Mi was unsure who it was in this village who knew she was the former Kage of the village but only those who had served under her when she was Mizukage still addressed her as such. Honestly, she could not remember if Aria had been under her during that period. She certainly hoped not. "It's good to see you again, Aria." Mi said aloud, smiling slightly.
Looking to Hoshi, Mi coaxed her head to one side, mirroring Aria's previous movement as she had asked a question about their position in the hospital. It seemed that Aria already recognized Hoshi. Perhaps introductions were unneeded. "We....have not been at this that long. Hoshi and Aria have met before?" Mi asked, flickering her gaze between the two. Her expression was open and displayed her curiosity. There was a lot Mi had to do in order to catch up with the affairs of the village. Starting with who knew what and who was where in terms of development in the village. It was always a good thing to have knowledge before she went into battle and battle was exactly what Mi was afraid was coming to Kirigakure. The world outside of the walls was getting darker and darker. There wasn't much time left in order to prepare the village for what was sure to come. These two young women would be vital assets to Kirigakure and it was up to her to get them ready. No pressure...right?

Aka was surprised by Aria showing up, she figured she wouldn't see her for some time still. She gave the woman a bow, then straightened up and looked at Mi as the woman seemed to come back to her senses. Akarui wondered why she kept placing a hand on her stomach, was she pregnant? If that was the truth, then Mi would have a lot to look after, not just her. She hoped she could finish her training soon; so that she wouldn't be much of a bother to Mi if anything else. The female dusted off her hands and listened to the two women converse. That was right, she hadn't told Mi about her meeting Aria yet, but in her defense she hadn't had much time to. She scratched her cheek, chuckling nervously, before answering Mi.
"Yeah, we've met once before. I was looking for you both and I just happened to run in to her first. She actually told me where to find you, funny enough. If I recall right, she's your assistant or something in this program so you don't have to train me on your own. Only a few people got two mentors, I happened to be one of those people." She looked at Aria and smiled at the female, crossing her arms in front of her chest. "Well hello again, did you sleep well? You were pretty tired the last time we ran in to each other."

Auntie was the first to chirp, but neither of the two here looked sleepy at all. Secretly, Aria was glad, as hospital shifts could run too long sometimes. Then, Mi spoke about dropping the honorifics, but Aria had always heard from her father to address his sister that way. Confused by this line of thought, she was happy to have a distraction, led by the compliment. The young woman revered her aunt, and had placed her on the highest pedestal in her mind, as a beacon to guide her when outside of the shrines. All of these many recent months, Aria would only get a fleeting glimpse or two of Mi, and each one was of her taking the lead, or sorting out problems. So when she finally spoke Aria's name after so long, a flood of feelings welled up in her eyes and throat, finally recognized. All she could do was to nod her head in a yes motion, and return a genuine smile.
With the attention slightly more off of her now, Hoshi was able to respond to Mi's inquiry. Aria and Hoshi had met the night prior, when the stars had already well taken over the sky. She was returning home from the war panel when they met under one of the street lamps, and had a brief introduction. "Yes, thank you," Aria began, returning the given smile with her own. "My dreams did not plague me last night after we met, despite the recent panel. The village discussion on the impending war last night was nerve racking, and even Sypher-sama looked to be out of sorts when he dismissed us. The consensus seemed to be split in half, on what we should do about it; I am worried that a loss of life will be inevitable. If my prayers are answered, that loss of life will be kept to a minimum, zero if possible." She furrowed her brow as she made a mental note to speak with the higher up monks later today. Taking a few steps forward, Aria placed the carnations in the empty vase on the window sill, her eyes looking out across the rooftops to the low hills beyond the village bounds.

Looking to Hoshi, Mi nodded her head once in acknowledgement to the girls response. So they had met each other before. That saved her the energy of introductions. They were frankly awkward to her and Mi still had a problem being a proper host in such scenarios. Aria spoke once more, the young woman explaining about the situation of the elusive and exclusive meeting of the minds that had gone on in the village. Something Mi had missed unfortunately. She was still currently playing catch up and only understood the basics of what had occurred at this meeting. Yes. They were at the precipious. One small move could send this whole village tumbling down a rocky path. Sypher indeed had been worried and had let her know in his own way that he her input on what was the correct route to take. Truthfully, Mi did not know. Sypher and herself were entirely different people. With entirely different persepectives on the world and how certain of actions should be taken. They clashed and this was only adding more to the tension between them. She could not comment just yet, even if she wanted to. There was a lot she didn't know and she needed to figure it out first.
Mind returning to both the women before her, Mi smiled. Her eyes practically disappearing as she started her next course of action. Both of them were here now. Their training could begin now. Training to test their limits as medics. Training that would show and pull the best and worst out of them. As if on cue the lights above them began to flicker off and on before shutting down completely. The entire hospital was plunged into a darkness and silence that was eerie and encompassing. All at once, the back up generators to the hospital activated, the dim lights of the emergency lights turning on. It did not provide very much lighting but it was enough to illuminate and cut through the pitch black darkness of the hospital. The small smile that had been on her face slowly evened out to a worried expression, Mi looking to Aria and Hoshi before looking down towards the nurses station on this floor. "That's...not normal." Mi stated, moving quickly to the station to speak to the staff.
A frightened nurse sat at her desk, small communicating device at her ear. Both her hands cupped the device and trembled, her eyes wide with fear as she began to intercept the gravity of the situation. Once she had gotten on the receiver she looked to Mi, on the verge of tears. "What's going on. This isn't in the schedule." Mi immediately started, her voice firm and unwavering despite the visible panic in the wing suddenly. A few nurses had returned to the wing, dispersing into rooms to attend the more critical of the patients. This was evacuation protocol, the small woman recognized. "T-t-there was something in the bio medic r-r-r-oom. They ordered a level 1 emergency evacuation." Coaxing her head slightly Mi looked to the wing, observing quietly and trying to come to her own conclusion of the situation. Bio medics were underground, dealing with the highly dangerous and infectious diseases that were studied in the village. "What was it?" Mi asked, looking to the woman again.
The nurse heard another ring of her device and put it to her ear, listening for her instructions. Her gaze seemed concentrated and then all at once her face paled, her eyes meeting Mi's. She stood up, the receiver leaving her hands. She stood there in shock, one hand covering her mouth as the shock of whatever was going on set in. Reaching across, Mi took the receiver and put it to her ear. "Hello, this is Mi You-." Mi started but stopped as she listened in. Three quick phrases were being repeated over and over again into the line. Project mushroom extraction is a failure. It's in the vents. Protocol 0 enacted. All at once there seemed to be a loud siren blaring through speakers over their heads. The nurses running to and fro stopped, looking up in silent horror. Attention staff, patients and visitors. Protocol 0 has been enacted. Hospital is on shut down. Please proceed to the designated meeting places. Attention staff, patients and visitors... It continued, Mi looking to Aria and Hoshi, her expression worried. A loud screeching noise started over the chaos, the metal grates began to close at all entrances, windows and exits to the outside. Sealing them all inside.
Once it had stopped and the panic erupted into loud noise and movement, Mi reached out and grasped both Aria and Hoshi's arm, pulling them aside. She stood close to both women, her eyes flickering between both their faces. "Something happened in the bio room. Something in the vents and if protocol 0 has been initiated it means none of us are going to leave here...Whatever happened down there is lethal and dangerous to the village. We need to see what's going on before whatever it is gets worse." There wasn't enough information for Mi to formulate a course of action other than collecting information. "Training....is suspended for now." She stated, her lips pressing into a firm line. She was worried and it showed on her face now.

Suddenly it was dark, and Akarui had to snap her hand over her mouth to stop herself from screaming and embarrassing herself in front of both of her mentors. She let out a silent sigh of relief when the emergency lights came on, and she quickly followed beside Mi as she made her way to the main desk. She felt her nerves on fire, but it wasn't from fear, no she was excited. She was ready to put herself in to action, she was ready to do something. She listened as carefully as she could to the lady at the desk as she spoke; something went wrong in the bio-med room. She knew what that meant though, she knew what that entailed, and suddenly she wasn't so excited anymore. This wasn't a physical threat she could beat, this was something she had to out-think. This was something that could easily kill her without a single thought. It wasn't something she could intimidate or hit, it wasn't something that had fear. It was something, maybe a virus or fungi spores, something dangerous that couldn't get outside of the hospital.
Aka jumped as the loud screeching sound hit the air as metal grates quickly closed themselves in over the windows and doors; they were sealed in. She was trapped, she was trapped in the hospital with something that could probably very easily kill her, or worse. Her mind was spinning as Mi dragged her off to the side, whirling and twirling with the information she had memorized. All of the things she had learned about the currently known diseases, all the things that could happened to her... she began in hyperventilate. But then she saw the faces of all of the people around her, people just as scared and as worried as she was. There was, however, one difference between her and them; these people couldn't do anything to protect themselves. This was her job, this is why she became a shinobi, to help people. She forced herself to take a deep breath in, closing her eyes to calm herself down. It would be okay, she wouldn't have to do this on her own. She had Mi and Aria right here along side of her, they could do this.
Mi was speaking again, and she forced herself to tune in and listen. She couldn't be going off on a tangent, there were people to save. "What do we do?" She immediately said in response, finally willing herself to speak and putting on a brave face. "How do we stop it, how to we save the people in here?" She reached up and gripped her sleeve tightly, she was scared out of her mind but she could only imagine how everyone else here felt. All of the sick and injured people that were barely able to stand, all of the people that relied on them. It was okay to be scared, but she had people who were counting on her, she had to remember that. There would always be time to learn as she went, whatever that entailed.

Still riding the highs from reuniting, it buffered her from the sudden flickering of lights. Brushing aside the curtains as darkness reigned, sunlight streamed in, reassuring her that nightfall was far, far away. The escaped inmate, Hashgroth, could not possibly be here. He was sealed up in Shadow-senpai's scroll, and with the large green cat Thenal'Fan still, she hoped, her eyes wavering. A visible shiver ran down her spine as she let go of the curtain, just in time for the emergency lights to dimly brighten the room.
Auntie took a few steps over to a console, to speak with someone on the other end. All Aria could hear from the range was something about a bio medic room, a place she had never been to or heard from, and an evacuation. Whatever was said next, spooked Auntie, and then the order was rescinded. Behind her now, the curtains ruffled as metal shutters closed swiftly, cutting off the sunlight, at which point Hoshi-san jumped. When her sleeve was nabbed along with Hoshi-san's, she had to take a few steps forward to keep up, and then the both of them were quickly speaking. "In the vents? Then it has to be aerial, right? Auntie, will Teikouryoku [ Power of Resistance ] be enough, or do we have to find some special equipment before we succumb?" It was the first time she had used the familial term so openly, but Aria was not thinking of that. She was concerned about being able to perform her best for those in need, and Hoshi-san had already asked the most pressing question. No training, but full force assistance in the matters at hand.

Sypher stepped out of a spray of mist as he landed outside the hospital, his bare feet kicking up a small bit of dirt. He didn't try to push his way through, walking around some people as they evacuated the area around the hospital "Sir. Should we enter?" the Anbu silently kept pace beside him as they approached the doors. Shaking his head, Sypher refused that option "We don't know what's in there. If we attempt a forced entry...no, we wait." the reality was that the people in there...were now the guinea pigs. If whatever was in there was truly dangerous, they would be the first affected. From there, they would make their decisions. If it couldn't be handled No one ever sees that part... he thought, his expression becoming one of a deep seated pain Sacrifice the few for the safety of village. he closed his eyes slightly, half lid, and sent his senses spiraling out. He quickly located Aria....Mi...and Akarui as well as other minds. At least he knew that he had the best in there. If anyone was going to handle a medical emergency, it would be Mi. His head twitched slightly as he felt a more familiar presence and he stiffened s**t. I should have known...damn it. he walked up to the door as the Anbu vanished out, ready to return if necessary. Tightening his fist, Sypher lifted his fist and rapped his knuckles sharply on the glass doors. Stepping back, he waited for someone to come to the door or at least for the panic inside to become less.
It was hard to stay calm, hard to not imagine the worst scenarios. If something this terrible were ever truly to happen Mi would be standing in the exact same shoes she was standing in at the moment. A decision between village and the most important person she would come to know. Closing her eyes briefly, Mi mulled over her options. Their options. She wasn't alone and was going to need the help of both Aka and Hoshi. "We have to get to the bio room underground. We have to contain the toxin and stop it from spreading. If it's too late for that...we are looking at creating the cure to whatever it is before the casualties get to high." Looking to Hoshi now she smiled slightly. It was the face of a doctor she wore now. "We need to stay calm. The percentage of exposure is very high now. We need to expect the cure being the only way now..." It was not the best way to introduce and inspire being calm but Mi did not lie about the gravity of situations.
At Aka's statement about whether or not they needed specific attire, Mi moved back to the desk and reached over. Grabbing a few surgical masks and gloves she tossed them to both girls. "If we are already exposed there is no point. This will help us not get over exposed and yes, it's always good to use our techniques." One of the nurses moved to Mi's side then, whispering something to her. Mi's brows furrowed, the news slightly unsettling. "The Mizukage is outside the hospital." Mi said. She had to debrief the Mizukage but time was of the essence. Looking to the two girls she let out a small breath. She would not send them to go alone into the fray. That was wrong. "I need one of you to go and meet with him. To relay the news and be our tether to the outside. Also...to evacuate everyone to the contamination ward. There are still sick and injured people that need to be looked after. If they see one of us in the ward the patients will feel more at ease...I think." Mi deduced. It was hard to really say what anyone was feeling but she tried her best to always consider the patient first. It was a lot to ask from one of them. To stay behind but she knew they would understand.
As Mi-sama spoke, telling Hoshi-san and Aria what needed to be done, the shrine maiden activated Teikouryoku [ Power of Resistance ]. She did not know how much she might have been infected, but any resistance was better than none. Be calm, Aria repeated in her head, taking a deep breath in and out. If we want to save everyone, we have to prevent the toxins from spreading to the outside. If we fail to do that, more than us will be infected, she continued, placing a hand on her kimono, near her heart. "I will go to the Mizukage-sama, and relay the situation. On my way there, I will direct those that I come across to head to the contamination ward."
Pausing for a moment before leaving, Aria gave a quick wish about wanting to be able to connect to more people with Mukei Enko. Mi-sama would probably be okay, so Aria turned her thoughts toward Hoshi-san. Reaching out with the hand that was on her kimono, she tugged on Hoshi-san's sleeve, briefly making contact with her. "Please be careful," she asked, before letting go and walking towards the door. Nodding to her Auntie, she grasped the door handle and then turned it, her long billowing robes flowing high as she turned out into the hallway.
Gaining speed, Aria made with haste towards the front of the building. With every patient she found, the maiden passed on the ward information, directing as many as she could. Soon, the hallways were widening, and the main reception halls were visible and mostly abandoned. To those still running around, Aria cupped her hands around her mouth and yelled, "Everyone to the contamination ward, over there!" Pointing to her left, she held her arm up as people looked at her, waved, and then ran in that direction. With most of the patients gone from the front of the hospital, Aria sprinted for the front doors, even though they were nearly shuttered and barred, because she saw shadows through the slits. That must be Mizukage-sama, she figured, edging close to the windows. Trying to look through the gaps, Aria could not tell, so she attempted to speak loudly, without resorting to shouting. "Sypher-sama? Is that you?" She did not want to pass on sensitive information if it was not him, so she only led with the question.

So it was down to finding the toxin it seemed. Akarui watched as Aria made her way to meet with the Mizukage and Mi was worried about the patients. Aka took a deep breath, rubbing at her face for a moment before sighing and putting on the mask. "You seem to be better at helping others out Mi, and it seems like you have someone else to think about. I've been noticing your mannerisms before this all happened and I don't want to put two lives in danger. I can go down to the bio-room. I'm not too far advanced in anything medical yet but I can at least find out what's happening."
She looked at the surgical mask in her hands and tossed it aside before thinking, scanning her brain as to what she could do. She knew there was probably a way she could filter the air some how. Being in the bio-med room was going to be more dangerous than just sitting up here, it was going to be more concentrated down there. Maybe she could take an oxygen mask some how. But no, that wouldn't be very plausable, she wasn't strong enough to carry a tank like that around. [ 1 // 3 ]
Maybe she could make her own, maybe she'd be able to make a sort of oxygen mask with her chakra. She bit her lip, looking downwards for a moment, her brown furrowing in thought. A something that would filter out the air for her, but how. And then she got it; she hadn't just be studying Eiseijutsu before but also medicine and biology. She knew how this all worked. She closed her eyes, blocking out the noise in the panic for a moment before beginning to focus, she could do this. [ 2 // 2 ]
akarui made a few hand seals then put her hand over her mouth, focusing her chakra to create a membrane where her hand touched. She felt it forming, a soft membrane made out of her chakra and the air, protecting her and filtering out whatever might be in the air arround her. She would worry about curing herself later if she had been already exposed but this would help her get in to the bio-med room. She pulled her hand carefully away from her face not to break the membrane and took a few deep breaths to test it. It stayed, nice and stable, like a bubble around her nose and face. She took one last deep breath before looking at Mi once again. "Yeah, I can go down. Someone needs to take a sample or something in order for us to get a cure, right? I just need to know where I'm going and what I'm doing." The female grumbled quietly under her breath that the books she had studied said nothing about life-threatening scenerios right out of the academy before she looked once again down the hall Aria disappeared down. What if she died here? Was her story truly going to end before it ever started?

J u t s u x L e a r n e d / U s e d > Oxygen Mask: The user covers the mouth and nose of the target in a thin layer of chakra. This layer of chakra creates a selectively semipermeable membrane that lets only oxygen in and letting all exhalation waste out. This has many positive benefits like helping those with troubles getting enough oxygen in to their system. It also filters the air breathed in by the person effected; filtering out any toxins, spores, viruses, and other unwanted particles like sand, dust, and ash out of the air before entering the lungs. This jutsu has the appearence of a bubble like film covering the mouth and nose.
Sypher leaned in, using his senses to track the three major players in this disaster. Aria's signature was coming closer to his position while Mi and Akarui appeared to be staying together. Turning to speak to one of the Anbu, he gave a quiet order "Evacuate everyone from this area, calmly. Keep a quarantine section of 300ft from the entire building." he turned back in time to hear Aria's voice. Stepping up to the glass, Sypher raised his voice slightly, speaking into the space between where the two doors met "Yes, Aria, its me. I'd like a report." he said calmly, slipping his hands into his jacket pockets.
At Akarui's quick deduction and volunteering for this specific mission had Mi looking at the younger girl in silence for a moment. Mi was normally a very subdued personality, choosing her words carefully and preferring not to speak most of the time. However, in this instance it was surprise that stole her breath. Mi hadn't thought she was being too obvious about her condition but of course she had never tried to hide it either. At least not in the hospital where she was most comfortable. "Thank you..." Mi started, mimicking the motion that Akarui had just done. Her chakra glowed a dark murky grey color, masking her mouth and nose. "...but I can't do that. We need two sets of eyes to put together the bigger picture quickly. There are many lives, beyond the one I am carrying, that are at stake." She said. Her smile was weak and sad, Mi unable to hide the melancholy feelings that she was feeling. At Akarui's plan of action, Mi nodded. She would allow for the girl to lead this but Mi would be her shadow for the moment. "You will do what I cannot." She stated, moving towards a door that had an image indicating they were to move towards the elevators.
Entering the room she approached the elevator doors, placing her hand over the sensory keypad. She activated her chakra and looked up at the light that had started glowing. The mechanisim in the elevator was activated and using her chakra she called it up to them. "The mushrooms...They were harvested by a few bio medics after the chaos of the last attack on Kirigakure. The village could not afford to have the same thing happen again so we began to study them. Looking for something that could serve as an acting agent against the poison. We underestimated our abilities greatly...Whatever you see or feel, don't eat the mushrooms." Mi warned Akarui, the elevator door stopping at their floor. Mi inclined her chin forward slightly, giving her charge the green light to enter. After she entered, Mi would follow inside as they descended towards their objective level.
The bio room was in the lower level of the hospital. Level six. Level five, the decontamination room, four the lab, three the chem. room, two the supply room and dissection floor and the first floor being the hospital itself. Mi kept her hand over the pad, feeding her chakra into it in a steady stream. "You can do this..." Mi said, trying to give the girl confidence in herself. Confidence that Mi had not had at her level and age when she was training. As the elevator came to a halt, Mi released her hand from the pad and took a deep breath. "Let's go." She said, taking a cautious step forward as the doors opened.
The first thing that was quickly noted about the difference in the bio room was the random foliage that grew in thick abundance throughout the long corridor that stretched before them. There were two rooms off to the left and right, the large square windows used to look into the room from the outside were obscured by said foliage. Thick vines, grey in the coloring with red vines spiraling through them were everywhere. Random moss was coating the floors and ceiling, giving the room a moist atmosphere. Mi's face felt sticky, her eyes quickly scanning from side to side. None of the staff seemed to be present, although that accounted for nothing. She prayed they were still alive and well but with the state of the room at the moment she highly doubted such miracles were possible. Mi stalked forward, her small frame approaching the room to the right. Looking over her shoulder she placed a finger to her lips, letting Akarui know silently that they should retain their quiet demeanor. Next she pointed to the room on the left. Mi wanted Akarui to go into that room and clear it before they moved on further down the long hall to the main floor door.
To make this less one sided on your next post can you please throw something in there that would make this event less of a one sided thing. You can add monsters, bad guys, details of how you would think the rooms would look like, whatever so that we can build off of one another.
