A tad lost in Toso’s question for a moment until Ujitoki spoke up recognizing Unki’s expression: ”He’s referring to a summoning contract.” Then Unki’s expression lit up. “Uaaaaah! That’s a good idea!” She sprang up from her chair with a burst of excitement ebbin in her voice. “Wait wait! That means I’ll have to train summoning jutsus first! I can do that, yeah!” Umeko stood and straightened up her chair as their squidsy guest completed the transfer of dishes and head moved out of the room. ”Helpful and sweet~ Thank you very much!” The woman promptly went to start the process of washing dishes.
Unki slid and wormed her way from the table, out of the kitchen, and made the mistake of leaving behind Toso’s awkward gift. She had the envelope of money in on her person. At the time, she wasn’t aware of this error and left the cylinder of clothes unattended in her seat for safe keeping. She was on her way to her room to see the third “gift”. The new set of clothes Iemitsu sought to replace her old clothes with. Ujitoki put forth the effort to help with dishes and Iemitsu was left to his own devices. He felt the “coast was clear” enough to finally act: The cylinder of lingerie was picked up and wordlessly slipped into his sleeve. He stood from the table, pushed in his chair, sipping his tea, and tried to inconspicuously make his way past a supposedly unsuspecting Unki. He fought to hide the guilt on his face by looking toward the wall as he moved. Unki, who as she saw Ietmisu, was reminded of her unusual present and switched direction. Empty. Her chair was empty. Uji wouldn’t want it. Ume-umeko probably pretends it doesn’t exist. Iemi… Iemitsu.. As she turned her head back to Iemitsu’s direction, her hair puffs bounce wildly, ”NOooo! I know your game, Iemitsu-yarouu! GIMME’! MY CLOTHES WILL NOT JOIN YOUR STASH!” The girl zipped after Iemitsu’s trail as he disappeared behind an archway. Her fairly unnecessary noise was followed by Umeko’s noise as she stopped washing dishes and hurried off after Unki with a dish cloth in her hand. Following briskly after Unki, Umeko, and could be heard scolding Unki’s volume and sharply addressing her son. Within the passage of a few moments, Umeko’s voice and diminished to more than her ‘inside voice’ but to a whisper inaudible from the other room. The change in sound levels suggested a barrier, perhaps by a closed door, was created. His interest in clothing extends into deeper territory and having unworn, new, articles of clothing as delicate and special as lingerie was a rarity by its definition. His “stash” are a collection of fashion magazine clip-outs stowed in a scrapbook which pales in comparison to the real thing. The next audible noise was an exasperated groan from Unki as she came out of one room and disappeared into another to part-take in seemingly inhumanly fast switch change of clothes. She took a detour back to the direction Iemitsu and Umeko disappeared to, perhaps to muddle an apology for being abrupt before tearing off from the conversation. Unki made her way through back to stand in the doorway of the small room again. “Alright, alright. Let me know what supplies to grab first at the shop. Then i’ll need to totally figure out how summoning works. ” She hopped out of the way and went to put on her shoes. Umeko appeared again and followed Unki to the other end of the hall. ”Off and out again?””Yep. Ninja stuff.” The woman held a worn look of understanding and worry. She sighed and gave Unki her warmest regards, love, and a hug. ”And you be safe too, Hojo-san! You’re welcome to visit again, however…” The woman remained static but leaned inward some toward the squid. An ominous vibe ebbing from her person despite her hospitable smile. “Upon the condition you never bring lingerie for Unki or anyone in this house again”. As quick as it came, the dark vibes dissipated and she continued to seem bubbly and cheery. ”Be safe!” From the otherside of the hallway, Ujitoki can be seen waving, with a cleaned bowl in hand, to both departing ninja. ”Off we go!

It remained blank but as the grand theft undies took place to a degree where Umeko had to intervene into a backroom his body tensed and jiggled momentarily, the awkwardness of a cold sweat developed on his forehead dripping down as Toso remained patient. Finally Unki and Umeko emerged and their preparations to depart were underway. "Perish the thought bloop." He'd say to reassure Umeko of course this was said in a manner that implied no promises. It seemed like all women Umeko had a stern side as well, and speaking from experience Toso would have to play his cards more carefully from now on.
As Unki and Toso made their exit and gave their goodbye waves Toso's body eased up a bit. "Your cousin is strange. Had they been worn first I would have been more inclined to understand bloop...such a taboo can be thrilling to some people." Toso of course implying that from his understanding of the situation Iemitsu came off as a little bit like one of those types of people who had a thing for er incest, or at the very least perversion from other peoples clothing like a typical voyeur. "Ah, but lets change the subject. bloobloo." Chances were such was a conversation Unki did not want to have whether such was or wasn't the case. She'd let her get off a statement to defend Iemitsu before moving on as the two walked at a similar pace.
Toso would then begin to go into detail. "Endaishima is approximately a three days trip from here. It would be one by boat but unfamiliar vessels are often unwelcome bloop." Suddenly a nin would appear he didn't seem to be an anbu just a regular run of the mill nin most likely a genin. He'd approach Toso bow stopping the two in his their tracks and inquire if he was or was not Tosokurui Ashikoki Hojo. "Just Ashi is fine bloop. Indeed I am bloop." He would hand Toso a scroll of which he would read his mission had been posted. Wonderful. "Bloop thank you." With another bow the Genin ran off. Toso would encourage to walk with him once more.
"It seems the mission has been processed bloop. Wonderful news I'd say, now I don't need to sleep in the fountain tonight bloop." Saying this Unki and Toso had reached said fountain where he had assisted in the escorting of a certain someone's drunk cousin. He'd then stop. "Bloop I think now honestly it would be best we split up here if that's not too much trouble bloop. The road to Endaishima is dangerous bloop it might be best if you head to the shop without me as I'm already confident in what I have equipped. I'll rendezvous with you at the academy. bloop. If we distribute the work load evenly we'll be able to begin sooner. Ah, if you can do me the favor of picking me up two scrolls of advanced level it would be much appreciated. I'll most certainly pay you back when we rendezvous. Toso was implying b-ranked scrolls but what Unki may consider advanced and his may have been two different things.
Suddenly the squids arms began to turn noodle like extending in preparation of likely his squid waltz. "We need typical travel necessities. The Blue Dragon does not sell groceries, since I've knowledge in fuuin I think it best I handle this acquisition and storage of supply and rations. Meanwhile both of us on our errands can see about finding other capable nin who may be interested bloop." Toso's arm would sling over Unki's shoulder as he gave her a blank smile "Isn't this exciting, your first mission as a chunnin? bloo bloo bloo." Toso would laugh but with a sense of urgency placing an invisible pressure on the girl, Unki would suddenly feel a rush of wind across her face as the arm on her shoulder grew taut having grabbed something. "I'll see you at the academy where I'll show you how to form a summoning contract, and maybe even fly! BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!" The squids voice would echo now having launched himself skyward. However, in all do honesty it probably didn't help that he didn't wait for Unki's take on the plan about splitting up to cover more ground. In short it may have if not been really rude. Just looking at the squid now a shrinking speck in the distance. ”He… just really likes clothing... Her defense for Iemitsu left Unki seeming not all that amused. A momentary frown surfaced from unwanted thoughts of the earlier spat.
From that point, the conversation was heavily one-sided as Unki stayed with the squid’s pace and listened. A genin messenger’s coming and going reminded her of Toso’s prior proposal of camping in the fountain and the blatant reminder that when it comes to water, the squid doesn’t joke. Then they stopped. Well, the act of stopping was more Toso stopping and Unki suddenly copying. As he explained their next plan of action, she pegged the necessary items on a ‘mental note’ in her thoughts. The loudest mental note Unki weighed on her thoughts was the fact that Toso was right: her first mission as a chunin. A half-hearted smile tried to form as the squid would make his dynamic exit. She hasn’t overly accepted her new title. But, she would have to accept this title and run with her chunin status and make herself into a divine example. I hope I can rope in some help…

The two went to their respective bedrooms the moment they got home. They had decided it was now nap time, and so it didn't take them much time to shower once more and then lay out on sepearte but close beds with their pillows and blankets lazily put together. They were soldiers, and as such they were used to sleeping in weird positions, such as the one they found themselves in. They also were used to sleeping in barns around smelly animals so that also didn't bother them. As they snoozed for a spell, not even the temperature could bother them. Such as they were, they were completely at peace. Jeon tossed and turned a lot, but at the risk of falling off the edge of her space for sleeping, she didn't do much there. Jay, also in a similar position, if on the opposite side, didn't move much when he slept at all. Both of them simply snoozed away quietly. Snoring was a habit they murdered subconsciously under threat of being denied a meal for keeping the others awake. The small children they were they had grown out of, and that habit went out along with it. No, they merely slept like silent little babies. Gross as it was, Jeon had a tendency to drool. Jay luckily didn't unless they were merged, and they rarely slept merged when they napped together. They spent a lot of time sleeping so they didn't have to often, but now was a time they decided to fully rest. They woke up at the crack of whenever the ********, and left.

It wasn't particularly interesting.[ Recovery 1] Then he kept napping, so that he could recover, even though there wasn't any good justification for it. With the stack of books in her arms, Unki managed a quiet retreat all the way back to her home to make certain the books are safe from being misplaced while in some location at the academy. It was hard for Unki to not still feel gloomy. The trip from the administration building to her home wasn’t an overly lengthy trip but undoubtedly long enough to allow some much needed thinking to come through.
The girl made her entrance through the front door of her residence and set the stack of borrowed books on the floor to remove her sandals. At last, Unki was able to step over the books and collect each again to take off to her room. The greeting to her cousins was casual however warm in the face of seeing one another again after some official excursion. Udo was still here and far more sober than their prior meeting. He even offered to prepare Unki something to eat: ”Surely, you must be hungry. Cute girls can’t run off of spirit alone. Still in lesser spirits, Unki stopped amidst her path to her room. The books balanced atop the other on her hands. ”Bath. Noodles. Bed.”Noodles?” ”Noodles.” With her final word of confirmation, Unki proceeded to her room where Shiro’s books were placed on her bed before stepping out again to bathe.
A soak in a hot bath. Cold baths were no fun, after all. Wash cloth, soap, bubbles, soak, and a doleful stare at the ceiling. What if I wore bells on the top of my head? I could be heard when I walk but that won’t work for work. Shiro probably wouldn’t want me wear those for long either, not if he wants me to be successful… Bells could home thing then.
The end of her bath brought about fresh clothes and quiet time. Quiet, preferrably, study time.
Maybe it was her thoughts, still in a state of reflecting on her actions, clouding her focus from the words on the page. Unki lightly pushed the book away and allowed herself to gave way to gravity. The girl crashed on her bed. The bounce of her sturdy mattress reminded her some of the ocean’s waves and how she could recall the sight of small vessels being bounced on the tides in Raijin Bay. The images of when the task started and ended rolled into her mind as she closed her eyes from reality. A long, drawn out hum of a sigh was the last noise she would remember making before accidentally slipping off to sleep.

Her bedroom door was cracked open. ”Unki?” Her eldest cousin chimed in again and hesitated before lightly nudging the door open. ”Noodles are done. I made eel noodles since I know you like that. Unki?” The cousin poked his head into the room. After a moment’s wait a pitiful whine of a reply piped from the supposedly sleeping girl. ”But I thought you liked eel? Do you want something else? The girl rolled her face into her blanket and a muffled whine came from her again, “nOoo, I love eel…”
Udo felt he knew enough about Unki’s mannerisms and quirks that he assume something was weighing itself on her shoulders, he sighed heavily and opened the door further. “Oh Unki…” Udo paused to untied a string from his hair left in during cooking. “I would tell you to act your age and whining doesn’t solve anything but life totally suuucks sometimes anyway, but seriously. What is eating at you?” It was safe to conclude, on Unki’s end, that Udo was beginning to sound like someone much younger than his 30-ish year old self.
Unki sat upright. Her sights stuck on the floor below her bedside and Udo’s legs as then began to explain the entire ordeal which took place over the course of the last few days…
Over the course of her story, Udo honed into as many details possible and overall looked less chirpy than he did when he came in. Unki further explained the details of her discussion with Shiro and motioned at the books beside her. At the end of her story, Unki couldn’t look Udo in the eye. A seasoned warrior as himself would not typically forgive the antics that took place and would rather scold her for her errors. Unfortunately, Unki wasn’t wrong to assume the seasoned side of Udo would soon come out.
“Do you know how easy you got off this time? I won’t tell you to imagine what could have happened. You know what could have happened. You could have been left the last one standing and outnumbered. An entire bloodline could have died.” ”But that didn’t happened. None of that happened because you either had serious luck on your side or hands willing to work together, despite it all.” Unki sighed. There was nothing to argue about her performance. ”Look alive and listen. I go off again in a few days and I can’t begin to describe how lucky you are that I’m here. You know where you failed and I can do is offer this: how do you think I snatched up as a bodyguard? When I’m working I have to be alert and ready that includes having plans, knowing what my fellow guards’ strengths and downfalls are so corrections can be made on the fly. You have to think three steps ahead of whatever could be coming your way- and if they knock you back then you better be able to make the best of the situation and embrace your advantages and smother the assassin’s advantages as quickly or covertly if and at all possible, or simply down them… but I’m going to get off topic and end up on a tangent… That cute face won’t will off bad guys, Unki! Nor will your… voice when you get angry especially. There will be times when simply telling whatever brainless subordinates ‘no’ won’t will them into doing what you need them to do.” ”
”Threatening one’s friends isn’t what I’m supposed to do. ”I didn’t say threaten did I? Pointing knives at hormonal boys is what your mermaid gang did. You’re not in Aya anymore. You have more civil options than just being a terrifying sea nymph.” Unki furrowed her brows. The comment about being a sea nymph rubbed her the wrong way. Hey, those morons asked for it!”
Udo pressed three fingers to his brow, shut his eyes, and sighed. ”And how would you explain that to your superiors if you ended up doing that here? Surely the Raikage wouldn’t have you causing fights during work over empty, physical threats? ” Unki knitted her brows and frowned. Her lips pursed out. ”I wouldn’t do that! I don’t do that! I never did that! I end fights. I don’t start them! Against his cousin’s protest, Udo scoffed in light of all the dirt he had on Unki’s past and behavior. ”What will you do then? Subordinates try to defy you again and in the situation that your decision is beyond textbook material? Cooperating teams fail to cooperate. Plans fail? The entire task is under risk of being compromised!” With each word, Udo’s stance became more and more aggressive to purposefully egg at Unki’s temper. He held his arms out wide and arched forward to sink more to her level. Unki who still sat on her bed was losing ground before she either had to literally meet Udo head on or fall backward. His light-hearted nature was being stomped out by this more serious and forceful side of him.
The closer Udo got, the more Unki turned her head and soured her expression to a glare. She was only seconds away from the choice of pounding Udo’s forehead with a headbutt but instead shoved him back and before shouted a reply: ”I put my foot down!””So what? Udo stabilized his ground and shouted back. Unki slid off her bed to square off and stand her ground against Udo: ”I’m in charge!””So? I’m going againstyou!””And risk it?!”Risk what?! ”Everything!” Such was the shouting match Udo wanted. Udo took a step back and replaced his uproar with a pleasing and calm demeanor as Unki began to steady her breathing. ”What is everything, Unki? Outside Udo’s younger brothers, Ujitoki and Iemitsu, loomed and listened out of sight of the open door. Both boys were wildly unsure as to what all the shouting was about. A bath, nap, lecture, and meal were all behind her now. Unki donned her complete battle attire with arm guards and readied herself for the remainder of the day ahead. There was work to be done whether it was toward bettering herself or others there was nothing but work to be done.
