Alrighty guys, we needs us some pathfinder, so here is the story. Here is the campaign.Times are tough in the world, and yet the town of Prosper is .... well prosperous. People flocked there, including you, in hopes that they could make a quick buck. You see a sign on the wall, a wealthy man has posted and ad looking for escorts to accompany him on his new flying machine, which is well ahead of the current times. Much mystery and surprise surrounds this simple job. Two groups of wealthy individuals have boarded the flying machine and are ready to go, but the body guards are just arriving. Strange how the other family didn't hire any? The More detailed version, growing as I type. "Dreams. Those fragments of death … How I hate them." -- Magnus Setting Prosper is a metropolis under the rule of a half blooded Solar named Gaberiel. It is located on a small island and was often overlooked until this great deficit that the world is currently facing, when they showed that they were still as, if not more, successful than ever before. Background: a little over a year ago, the council of merchants who control the island of Prosper contracted Prince Lucanor Giovanni of Lucrecio, a neighboring land of highly skilled mechanics, for the construction of a flying machine (A zeppelin) that would become the pride of their country. With it Gabriel hoped to show the other kingdoms the artistic and economic superiority of Prosper. The flying machine would go between the mainland and the island of Prosper as a slap in the face to the mainland and its citizens. Unfortunately, the event has attracted the attention of some unpleasant passengers, who for one reason or another, have no intention of letting the flying machine finish its voyage. The first group is a small squad of renegade military personnel who wish to desert Gabriel's army. Edmond Sadler, captain of the unit, has been assigned to protect The Lady (The flying machines name), but has also received a considerable sum of money to capture the airship and hand it over to somebody in Togarini. Thanks to his charisma, he managed to convince many of his men to follow him, and try to take control of the zeppelin once it is completely airborne. The second individual interested in the zeppelin is a member of a supernatural organization who calls himself Raptor. He plans on taking the zeppelin to a nearby small island in the inner sea and initiating a complex mystical ritual there. His reasons are, to say the least, very complicated. What to expect from this campaign: A mystic cult, a mysterious island, a suspicious man, and a thrilling horror story that is sure to keep you on your toes. Rules: All character building save for Templates will come from core rulebooks only, after level up you can start adding from the other listed books. If a majority rules to add in another book I will consider adding it. Templates can only come from Core books, Savage Species, Tome and Blood, Master of the wild, Song and silence, Sword and Fist, Unearthed Arcana and the complete series (Complete warrior, complete divine, ext) One Template Per character. ECL = 5, thats right boys and girls, a low level campaign. Starting gold is standard. I would like to do this on skype if at all possible, and use gaia for rolling dice so that nobody cheats, but I don't see that happening to easily. 1.) Cley Pureholm-- Paladin2.) Justice Blackwell -- Monk/ranger 3.) Tehila of the Violet Note. -- Bard 4.) James Taelka Biorr -- Sorcerer5.) Hur' Oc Marrow Splitter -- Fighter 6.) Lad Sherlock -- paladin/sorcerer7.) Ziya, the druid8.)

Hmmm... Any chance I might be able to persuade you to let me play an APG Alchemist?

Pathfinder sounds good. Have to see what I can build.....I've been wanting to play a ranger, but it keeps not happening (IRL), so maybe I'll give that a try.
Gear is also core, correct? Because the Magic Item Compendium at some point would be awesome. (Just throwing the idea out there. smile )

And what should we use to generate stats? Rolling or point buy? If point buy, use the Pathfinder method for how many points?

Dallas Moonrain And what should we use to generate stats? Rolling or point buy? If point buy, use the Pathfinder method for how many points? 4d6 per stat, reroll 1 once, but if it gives you a one on the reroll you have to keep it. Or 32 point buy with no buys that would put your stat above 18. Feats, class, race and gear from core.

Disciple of Sakura Hmmm... Any chance I might be able to persuade you to let me play an APG Alchemist? I don't see it working to well unless you had a massive backpack on, because -censored for mystical DM knowledge- I would allow it, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I've been kinda interested in seeing it in action. *shrug* Would a Handy Haversack count as a "massive backpack?" Honestly, it probably wouldn't matter. The SKYPE component pretty much precludes me. With baby and full time job, I don't think that'd be a viable approach. I'd kinda missed that the first time...

And a haversack would work if you started the game with all the supplies you would ever need. I will reveal that much, your going on a flying machine so don't expect any shops any time soon.

Pathfinder-style point buy or 3.5-style point buy? And is it okay to have a stat above 18 if I get it there by adding a racial modifier to it?

And yes, you can go above via racial mods.

Only 20? I only ask because PF 20 isn't as much as 3.5 32. Just want to make sure I know what we're dealing with.
Also, can we roll and then opt for point buy, or just pick one and live with it?

Roll first, then take the point buy.
