No matter how, you lucky few secured passage on a trading ship called "Mi Bella Maria." It was a fine, spacious ship, with a crew member capacity of 12, who worked to load and unload cargo, and keep the ship working. However, seeing as the ship's a cargo ship, there's no quarters for travelers, so you had no choice but to sleep and rest on the deck.
You traveled for 3 days, into the sea, until you reached what seemed like a wall of fog. It was one of the few things that kept ships well out of these lands: they had no way of knowing what was beyond them. The captain didn't drop the anchor, but would curl the sails, so the ship was ready to move, but would not be moving (not as much as if it had full sails anyways.)
He would get off the wheel, and would walk to you. He was a human, mid 40's, short hair and bushy beard, both graying. He had a captain's hat and greatcoat, leather pants and boots. He was also smoking a pipe, which he poofed every few seconds. He kept a very nice silvered rapier on his hip, and a very visible flintlock stuck between his belt.
"Right, this is where we stop." He would say, with a gruffy voice, "wait a bit, there'll be a ship comin' in to take y'all to mainland. Small fishing ship, but a very strange one. When you see it, you'll know which one it is. We will sail around these here parts every 3 days, just in case y'all decide to head on back to ol' sweet home or if you need stuff from back home. Other than that, y'all be on your own over there. Take care y'all, and may Pelor's light guide you and keep you safe. If you need me, I'll be in the cargo hold." He tipped his hat, and entered a door, where, unless a party member would seek him, you won't see again.

It didnt' take long for the ship to arrive, slowly drifting through the fog, and gently bumping the larger cargo ship to stop. As the captain said, the ship was certainly unusual. It looked as if someone Tied two canoes to long planks and added a sail in the middle. In addition, you could see a wooden crane on the back corner of the boat, with a rope going INTO the water. The boat was around 15 square feet big, and very spacious. It was 20 feet below you.
The only things you see on the ship, other than the crane, are it's pilot, a dark-skinned man with shaggy hair and beard, wearing nothing but underwear and a piece of rope around his forehead, and the anchor on the corner of the ship. He would wave at the people looking down at him, with a big toothy smile. He was missing a canine.
"Jump!" He said, in a simple tone, making the gesture to 'come forth.'
