Grand Staircase

The Grand Staircase is a massive structure in Hogwarts Castle, mainly used to access each floor of the castle, including the dungeons. There are hundreds of Portraits covering the walls in this tower, some of which conceal secret passages to other areas within the school. The multiple staircases in the Grand Staircase like to move around, from platform to platform. The stairs go as high as the seventh floor where they come to an end. It was Rowena Ravenclaw who came up with the idea of using moving stairs.

Aaron Suggs
Gryffindor Head Boy

Aaron Suggs, Head Boy of Gryffindor, stepped onto the stairwell, leading the First Years of Gryffindor to their common room. "Welcome to the Grand Staircase. Hope you're not afraid of heights, the entrance to the Gryffindor common room is up at the Seventh floor, in Gryffindor Tower. So follow me!"

Tamara "Goldilocks" Radcliffe

Tamara followed Aaron onto the stairs and looked behind her. The First Years were still mostly in awe over the moving stairs. First years, she comically thought to herself. She had been awestruck by them too when she was a First Year, so she didn't blame them.

Lucy stumbled behind Aaron and looked up at the stairs.
"Seventh floor... Great!", she smiled excitedly.
"It's still kinda high, isn't it, though?" mumbled Pan.
"Oh, shut it! It's way cool." corrected Lucy, smirking.

Tamara "Goldilocks" Radcliffe

Aaron walked ahead, but it was really Tamara who hung behind to make sure that the First Years were following. She nudged a couple who were staring and pointed up the stairs. "Come on folks, you can stare later. We need to get on up to the common room so Aaron can tell us the password. Let's go, let's go," she said, urging the students to move.

“Cute is when a person's personality shines through their looks. Like in the way they walk, every time you see them you just want to run up and hug them.”

Caramel gasped loudly as she saw the moving staircases. 'Exactly as I imagined!' she thought happily. She followed Aaron, walking side by side with Jessica.

First Year && Proud Gryffindor

A wide smile, wider any other one, crossed her face as Jess saw the staircase. "Wow..." was all she could say as she stood still to stare at it just for a little while but then she remembered that they had to get up to their dorms so she started moving again and walked right next to Caramel. "This really is amazing isn't it?" Jess said as she couldn't stop looking around.
Then she remembered their talk about the squid again and that she hadn't replied yet. "About the squid. Half the table is pretty huge." Jess said to her friend and happily nodded as they continued to follow Aaron.

Tamara "Goldilocks" Radcliffe

Tamara ushered them past, catching a snippet of their conversation, and chuckled. She saw the Head Girl coming to relieve her of her job and so she caught up to Lucy, breathing a little heavily. "This castle is quite an interesting place when you think about it. Did you know there are secret passages to and from the castle?"

Caramel nodded again rapidly, biting her lip and skipping happily behind Aaron.
"And can you believe it?! In a year we're going to be like Tamara! And two years- third years! Three years- forth years! Four years, fifth years! Five years-sixth year! And six year, seventh year! Gee-I-need-to-calm-down!" she panted. She was overreacting, obviously.

Tamara smirked and looked back at the girl. Energy was a welcome thing in Gryffindor. "At least you're not a slimy Slytherin," she said out loud.

Lucy looked at Tamara, her mouth hanging of amazement.
"No!!!!! Really?! Where?!" she bombarded her with questions, smiling.
"Lu, chill, you're already a trouble-slash-danger-magnet-" sighed Pan, frowning. She hissed at him angrily, turning back to Tamara, hoping for an answer.

Jess raised her eyebrows when Caramel started talking faster and more excited but she managed to still laugh about it because really it did look a bit funny to see the overreacting girl talk. "Just remember to breathe and concentrate on this year!" Jess then said laughing as she gave her friend a soft nudge against her shoulder.
Concentrating on their first year here was the plan but Jess was already getting worried that her thought would drift off to much in the near future because there was so much to see. She then shook her head a little. 'You can see everything and still study!' She thought to herself as she glanced over to Caramel, wondering when she would get overexcited again since she seemed like the girl that does that a lot.
When the second year said something about the Slytherins Jess let out a laugh. 'True, so true...' she thought to herself

"Heh, well, I haven't found them all yet, but I have a rather credible source that says there are at least five of them." She leaned in close to Lucy. "I found one that leads into the Prefect's bathroom. There's a lovely spa tub in there." She smirked.

Lu's mouth formed and an 'O', her eyes shining of astonishment.
"What source? What is it? Please tell me!!!" she begged as Pan rolled his eyes, curling up round her neck.

"I'm so excited! I'm counting on getting Outstandings! Well, probably except Quidditch..." she muttered, frowning. She was scared of heights. It was okay on the Staircase, but outside...
