Aw, no drawing is a waste of time! Don't feel that way about your art.
As for your question, which of these do you think is the best drawing? Don't think too hard, your gut reaction should tell you immediately which one. I personally am I liking number 4 the best because he's got a more interesting style going on.
Some quick tips about character design, make sure that when you design a character, you can tell the characters apart based solely on their silhouette value. If all your characters look different from just one glance, then you're on the right track. If you want to know what this is, imagine if you got a black marker and blocked in everything in between so you can only see the outline of them (as if it's their shadow). Looking at these characters, you did a very good job with the women, but the two guys have extremely similar hair outlines, with both having their hair swished to the right and hair sticking out behind their head. If they're all going to be in the same story, I'd suggest you change one of the guy's hair designs.
Keep on going. Try some full bodies next time!

looks like you have drawn up some pretty cool characters here. In terms of which I think is the best, I would have to say No. 4.
Just a couple of pointers...
The necks are really quite long, so I'd suggest looking at a real person to check the proportions there.
I noticed that all but one of your characters have the lines on the cheeks. I understand that this could be your style. but maybe for girls, or for some variation in your drawings, you could try adding blush? Or maybe no lines at all. Just a suggestion though. Sometimes the lines make it looks like they have just been in a fight or something.

I likr 3 and 4 but the rest are not bad just different character types. it's a good show of how diverse you are in your character types. it would be nice to see the full figure.
