The world of Japanese culture is a constantly changing thing, from the news to the politics to the very language itself, and thread is where I seek to help show a more complete picture of life in Japan, as well as the role the language plays around the world.

Rules:

arrow Here, multiple postings by the same author are allowed, with one caveat: Only one information post-IE link sharing-per person, per day. Otherwise the same rules about multiple postings still apply

arrow It can be a link from a news site, or something concerning the language and/or culture you find interesting

arrow This is a politically neutral zone. I will allow no one to be chastised for being a Damn Dirty Dem or Right Rotten Republican(or whatever persuasion you fall under)

I'll kick this off with something that's become a hot topic in the Japanese political atmopshere: NHK World Report on the Japan and China Conflict over the Incident at Senkaku Islands

Part of the leaked raw footage of said incident

Japan is known worldwide for its vast difference in culture and perspective from traditionally Western cultures, and is something Japanese lawmakers are now taking active note of. This article about Tokyo's Gov't's crackdown on the sale of all child pornography is an excellent example of how much growing the country of Japan is still doing as it becomes more and more modern and more and more a part of the global scene.
