Time marches on [finished]

[Dementia Requiem Asumi]

Fi blinked, nodding. "How do I surf again?" She asked, eyes wide like they had been when the two of them had met. The faun might be sitting on just a randomly elevated spot on the ocean, but that didn't mean she remembered how to surf. "Why is my butt not wet either?" Fi squirmed, looking behind her. Perfect balance. Weeeird!

Hula Bob nodded and chuckled a little. "In your own very awesome way. Look at me and do what I do, but minus the board."

The demon then got up and began to surf. He was so good at it now. The change from lake to ocean had changed things, but he was used to it now.

She tilted her head, wiggling a bit on her invisible surf board. "okay!" It took the faun a moment to remember what she was watching, but she stood up, wobbly of course. "Lets surf!" Fi laughed, riding a wave back.

She might have been good, but Hula Bob was a lot better at surfing than she ever hoped to be. Especially since she was always forgetting how to pull off some of the really cool tricks he always managed. "You're so awesome at this!" The faun called, smiling in awe at him.

Hula Bob smiled and waved to Fi. He liked being told that even if he knew she was great too. This, however, make him want to show off. So of course he did some ticks he was working on. Standing on one arm, his head and so many others. The help of his wings and tail did work.

Fi smiled, watching him in awe. He was so good at all of this. She didn't even notice the wave that was threatening to knock her right off the invisible board she always rode.

Of course it wasn't until it was too late that she did notice it, having been sent all the way under the salty water and then some. Oh guardians what happened?! Where did everything go, why couldn't she breathe? Why did it hurt when she tried?

Hula Bob saw Fi go down from the corner of his eye. The first thought was to dive into the water, which is what he did. The demon swam as fast as he could as he looked for the Faun under the water. He could see orange and he went for it, the salt water stung his eyes and he reach out for the girl.

She wanted to scream, the water was burning her throat! The faun closed her eyes, floating rather than struggling. Everything was all blurry and it all burned her. It was a shock when Fi felt the hard thing ram into her.. Wonder what that was? Did she hit rocks or something? A moment later she was gasping air, wanting to scream as each one ripped her throat open. It felt like sand paper was rubbing the inside of her body

Where was Bob? Phiona searched frantically, looking for him. "Bo-bob?" She coughed, looking back and forth for her savior.

Hula Bob was in a panic. It didn't seem like her to drown, not a surfer with such natural talent. He had missed with his grab, but he had touched her. That was something. He dove off his board and opened his eyes under water to see where she was. He them held out his arms hoping that he would grasp her and grasp her soon.

Fi managed to spot her love just as he went down to grab her again. She coughed again, trying to inhale a deep enough breath to go after him in the water. It wasn't working well at all, but she went anyways. Anything to make sure he got back up alive from that horrid water.

Her red eyes stung as she opened them, looking for him under the torrid blue waters, unable to find the bright red demon looking for her. The faun groaned as she was pulled to the surface. It was then that she noticed what had brought her out of the water.. Not a scary shark, or a friendly school of fishes.. No, it was a dolphin? Why wasn't it going after Bob? She was safe, he was under the water! "BOB!" Phiona screamed, or at least attempted to, looking and hoping he would resurface soon.

Hula Bob continued to look for Fi under the water. He didn't want to lose her. He had lost enough in his life and this time he would fight for it, which was saying a lot.

The demon didn't see orange in the water but then he thought he saw gray. Was that a shark? Great... Bob then resurfaced to catch a breath and look around. He found his board, since it was tied to his leg, and then saw a fin. "Fi?" He called hoping she wasn't eaten.

Fi coughed, waving an arm in the air. She finally saw Bob off in the distance, which meant he was okay. Thank goodness! "Bo-" She started, breaking off into a coughing fit. With a groan, Phiona started to climb onto the water's surface like she was getting back on a board.

Fortunately, the invisible board supported her, floating her on the surface of the ocean's harsh waves alongside her gray friends. "Unnn..." The faun groaned, reaching her arm out weakly for him. She was just tired after that, with darn good reason too. Nearly drowning took a lot out of a girl! Finally, she settled for just waiting for him, he was a kind man, he'd swim over, she was sure of it.

Hula Bob didn't see the 'shark' again so that was comforting. He then spotted the green and orange that was Fi floating again. He swam as fast as he could, on his board. He made it to her and sighed with relief.

"Oh, that was gnarly. I was so worried I lost you. I don't want to lose you." Bob said with a frown. "Are you okay?"

The faun smiled, watching a familiar fin show itself in the waters nearby. "Almost drow-" she coughed, "drowned.." Fi reached out to pet the dolphin that had saved her. "Than-thanks" Her scratchy voice came, grateful that the creature had saved her.

Wearily, Phiona looked up at Bob. "I didn't mean to scare you." she was tired from the shock. "I'll be f-" another cough, "fine." She blushed, rubbing her throat as she started to sit. Sitting was good, it made her feel a bit better. "Can we go home?" Fi hated to ask, but she knew better than to stay out when she felt so horrible.

Hula Bob was relived at all of it and the fact it was dolphin. He smiled and shook his head. "That's what you call a wipe out. Did you get hurt?" He asked. Looking her over the best he could. "I can help you get to the shore."

With that he splashed back into the water off his board and pushed it towards the faun. He wanted her to get on and no longer use her power and strength.

Fi coughed again, nodding. "I'm fi-fine." Her throat just stung like crazy. The female blushed a bit, realizing what he wanted her to do. It took her a moment to release the board she was sitting on and swim over to Bob and his board.

"Tha-thank you." Phiona's voice was raspy, but sounding a bit better as she used it. She kissed his cheek, happy that he cared about her so much. She loved him to pieces, and couldn't help but be extremely pleased that he at least liked her back.
