A dense bayou consisting of treacherous marshes and canals. Home to many diverse forms wildlife and flora, this is no place for genin to roam without supervision. There is a perpetual fog that veils the area, making it exceedingly difficult for all non-Mist shinobi to navigate. Often times criminals and defectors take refuge in this swamp to lie low.

Wanted List:
Shinichi Fuudo (Kirigakure Defector)

Isamaru checked his surroundings. No one he could see or sense. Didn't mean no one was there though. He felt his team mates slightly farther ahead. Isamaru was a Ninutsu specialist, he had to stay a bit ranged while fighting. He expected a fight from this guy. Or so the sensei had said. Isamaru wasn't having too much trouble seeing through this mist. He supposed it came with being a mist nina and all. Or his natural element of water, pushing the mist out of his vision. He constantly checked his back, this guy could kill any one of them. But Isamaru would keep on his toes, alert to anything and everything.

Makoto had led his group into the misty marshlands. He was home... back here in the foggy marshes of Kirigakure where he trained his tracking prowess to perfection. He knew this place like the back of his hands, and if some defector thought they were going to hide in his backyard they had another thing coming. It was almost like the fog wasn't there, he could see every branch and puddle. Could hear every sound, and practically smell his prey's chakra. "Alright guys stay close... I've got his scent. Stay vigilant." He told his team as he took off for the treetops.

Why is everyone faster than me? Oh right, the gourd. Now it all makes sense. At least I'm not noisy. I think. Akio had time to complain as they trudged through the foggy, smelly swamo. He should have been paying attention to his surroundings and whatnot. Last thing he needed was to slip and fall into the water, alerting their prey and turning this hunt into a merry little chase. That'd be fun. So Akio made his way by jumping from tree to tree, keeping hold by some nifty hand and claw spikes he had made with some of his iron. A soft thunk every time he jumped from tree to tree, following Isamaru closely and as quietly as he could. Or who he assumed was Isamaru, it was rather foggy. They looked similar enough, and he'd need to keep enough distance to see but not be seen, a little ambush if it was required. Otherwise, Isamaru would probably have to turn around and save his bacon from the chopping block. And the butcher. Damn ninjutsu specialist. Coulda taken a weapon, at least. Oh well, more glory for us. I think. I don't know. Akio mentally complained a little more, something he was entitled to in th current situation. Any man who didn't partake in at least a modicum of whining needed to have his head chekced. And throughly made fun of for being far too serious. Like their fearless teacher.

Although, considering he might come to their timely rescue, Akio would reserve those insults until the right time. That time being back at the village, where the chance of being murdered was slightly slimmer. Either way, Akio kept on his toes and followed his fire support as close as he could. He couldn't let the kid die alone.

As Makoto leaped from branch to branch he kept getting this odd feeling that something wasn't right. Hunting was his job and it required a lot of gut feelings and intuition... if something felt wrong it probably was. "Shhhhhh! Watch out for traps." He said back to his squadron. He felt that there might have been a little too much noise, their opposition was no small fry. The scent he had caught whiff was starting to wane. 'He knows we're here.' Makoto thought before quickly picking up the pace. They didn't have much time to lose, their enemy had the drop on them. He narrowed his eyes, trying to find anything he could use to track the White Devil. He spotted several broken twigs and indentations in the mud... they were on the right track.

Isamaru followed the sensei, as quiet as he could. Not making any noise at all when he stepped was a good start. He had Akio behind him for reasons unknown. That hulking giant seemed like he'd be best suited for an up front gig. He looked like he could split Isamaru in half from flexing at him. Isamaru also noted how hairy he was. Still Isamaru felt much safer with a hulkzilla like him close behind. Didn't help that Isamaru was still pretty nervous about this. 'wonder what he does' Isamaru said giving a glance back at the shinobi. He could see him through the mist.

And as for the sensei, well...sensei was like a hunter dog. He took off up into the trees. Isamaru took off for the trees. Sensei caught the baddie. Isamaru would do whatever he wanted. Isamaru saw sensei get hacked to pieces in an untimely demise of gore and glory. Isamaru would lose his cool and get the hell out of there. Let the big guy handle the guy they were looking for. 'goddamn, what was his name again?' Isamaru said looking around like a parinoid king. "Did I say that out loud?" Isamaru said aloud. The mist shinobi Isamaru had the bad habit of saying things out loud, or at least thinking he did.

Don't tell me to shush, Mr. Talks-A-Lot. Wouldn't be surprised if he came for me first though. Weakest link and all that, take out the other guy and the support falls short. I hate being a rippling mass of manly muscle. Akio kept on complaining as he sped up, right after the Isamaru guy. Watching out for traps, white rogue weapon masters. poison creatures, or some kind of nasty disease. All were horrible ways to go, and at the least he'd have to run into the white-robed sword-swinger. Akio wasn't really looking forward to that. And why are we following this guys tracks? If he were a rogue from our village, and dangerous, he'd know Hunter-nin would be after him. He'd want to cover his tracks, obviously, and set rather subtle traps. Or, he'd lead us into an ambush with some fake tracks. I'm assuming the latter, and we're all going to die. Sensei is going to lead us into an ambush without a good goddamn game plan. I'm not going out yet, not like this. Not in a swamp. Akio could be observant when he wanted to be, just not all the time. He could have been wrong in his whole analysis of the situation, and this guy could be some blundering idiot of a ninja. He didn't want to take that chance, though. Not with his teacher telling them to be careful for traps. Something was up.

"Hey, Isamaru," he whispered harshly, "Stick close. Something is wrong, get ready for some real trouble. And be quiet." He didn't want his support to get killed, that would make everything a lot harder. Well, that, and getting a new friend killed would really make him unhappy for a week. Akio followed a little more closely, far more cautious about the whole situation. Running right into an ambush would kill all the 'fun' in this field trip.

Makoto knew all too well that something was wrong, but what made this all the more difficult was how he had to watch over two other shinobi besides himself. His narrow eyes spotted a human-like silhouette in what couldn't have been more than 10 meters away. The noise his squad made was bothering, if he could hear it... so could Shinichi. The young hunter turned to instruct his team. "I thought I told y-" He was cut off hastily as a kunai nearly braised his nose. 's**t! Someone must have hit a trip!' He thought before having to dive forward as several projectiles would be flung in his direction. "You two! Take cover and stay there!" He barked to his squad as hundreds of kunai, shuriken, and senbon would rain down from overhead. He didn't need anymore distractions, he take out the opponent as quickly as possible. Makoto took haste and sped off through the trees diving, swooping, swinging and rolling where ever he need to to avoid being caught.

Isamaru looked ahead at his leader. Knowing without having to be told, just how odd this all seemed. Isamaru nodded at Akio's words. And then sensei spoke up. Only to be cut off by a kunai which sped past him and sliced Isamaru's cheek. He landed on the nearest branch and flipped under it. It was thick, but not enough for large amounts of kunai and shuriken rained down. 'Did I do that!?' Isamaru said dodging through the brush, and trees. He had to rely closely on touch when navigating through the swamp. Isamaru focused chakra into his feet. He lept on the sides of trees. and atop puddles. He Jumped in the direction sensei took off in. Not thinking about the other team mate Akio. Isamaru just hoped he made it away quickly as well.

'What trap could we have triggered!?' Isamaru said looking around all over the place for anything he could use. He used what seemed like branches above for cover from the trap.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 20, 2010 11:47 am
"Nice plan, fearless leader! You both suck!" He shouted after his sensei, who probably had a plan to survive this disaster without Akio, and Isamaru, whose plan to survive didn't include him. So he was left to fend for himself, against the metal weaponry that was dead set on ending his life in a messy fashion. Well, I have my own damn plans. Akio thought about what he was going to do for all of five seconds, because unlike his two new 'friends', he had a brain in that large head of his. That, and a useful bloodline for this kind of situation. With hands upraised, Akio stopped the mass of metal. Not all of it, only the projectiles that would harm him. He had to fend for himself, apparently, and fend he would. "You call this a trap? I call this a morning exercise!" He could be pretty smug right now, he could stop the trap that had his allies scrambling for cover. Unlike his allies, metal was his life blood, hi best damn friend.

And it treated him right. Like an ally should have. "Any other trap that'd you'd like to set off, guys? Maybe some explosives?"

WHITE DEVIL

The tree Akio had planted himself on would split effectively in two. The halves unable to support their own weight now would split and begin to fall for the ground. A hooded figure draped in white could be seen on the ground, waiting for the genin to be crushed under the girth of the massive lumber. A similar figure would appear before Isamaru, wielding what seemed to be a lengthy poleax. It took a steady aim before slinging the poleax with deadly precision, the weapon was beaming for Isamaru like a rocket. To make matters worse, Makoto was nowhere to be seen.

"If it isn't one thing, it's another." Akio reamined calm despite the nasty situation he was in, one their fearless leader had left them in, two inexperienced genin facing off againt some missing-nin. Akio would have to request a new teacher after this, one that wouldn't run away at the first sign of danger. None of which mattered at the moment, since he was probably going to be crushed to death by a giant tree or be carved into a bloody mess by the white-wearing fairy. Akio would rather live through all of this and have kids one day, maybe grandkids and prosper in dry goods. Or something that didn't involve dying young. "No witty banter? No pre-mortem one-liner? Not even a friendly warning?" Akio asked, a little chuckle thrown in for some added effect of trying not to panic and get himself killed. Akio used all of the kunai and other mettalic objects to hold off the gigantic trees while e thought of something that wasn't predictable and ineffective. He could always substitute, but this guy would probably see that coming and have something to counter that. He had one idea, one that would probably work if everything he'd read on it was up to date and correct, otherwise he'd be boned. "Satetsu Kesshuu," He had to use the kunai he had stolen, along wit all of the other metal weapons, and used them to create a large, spiked dome to protect the squishy Akio. He used this time to spin it, turning all that lumber into firewood and hopefully putting the fear of God into the white-robed fairy.

Hopefully.

Once he was sure the ancient, rotten trees were mulched, he lifte the dome and sent it at their new enemy. He was probably sending this at a shadow clone, but at least he'd have done something before being carved into a bloody mess that would make his mother cry. A lot. Or he'd kill the guy dead and earn some praise. Either way, he did something.

Isamaru heard a sound, which seemed so distant at first. He stopped where he was and looked back at the tree that was falling. The loud noise proved the whole "If a trees falling in the forest and no ones around to hear it, does it make a sound?" thing wrong. "Goddamn" Isamaru said under his under his breath. He noticed something out of the corner of his eye. A figure in the distance holding something. Clad in white, the figure just seemed to be standing there. It was readying a weapon. "Wait, wait, wait, wait!" Isamaru said speaking up as the figure readied for a dash. "You ain't gonna monolog or nothin' give a bad guy speech!?" Isamaru said as the figure shot forward, weapon drawn at Isamaru.

Isamaru looked at the ground. 'swamp water. Lightening. Ok.' Isamaru quickly made a few handsigns for his weakest jutsu, but would turn most effective in this situation. "Raikou Boruto no Jutsu!" Isamaru said firing the bolt into the water to to give off the "Toaster, tub suicide" scenario for his guest. Good going all knowing leader. was all Isamaru was thinking. He'd slug this b*****d after this as hard as his fists could. Hopefully this would stop this axe weilding madman long enough for Isamaru to use a stronger jutsu. He hoped.

WHITE DEVIL

The white-robed figures were surprisingly nimble. The first, was a little smarter than what Isamaru would have thought. Being face first with electrocution he quickly pulled out a scroll and summoned a wooden Bo staff upon which he stabbed into the ground and jumped to the top balancing himself with one foot. Wood of course was not a conductor, as such the water would allow the current only to flow up the wet bottom of the staff before being resisted by the rest. The figure pulled out two throwing knives from the holster on his abdomen before flinging them at Isamaru's head, there would be a dull glint behind the knives as the flew.

The other Shinichi was dealing with it's own problems. The mass of steel and static electricity flying his way would have to be stopped. He began to form a small string of handseals before raising his right hand to his mouth. "Fuuton: Daitoppa [Great Breakthrough]" He mumbled before releasing a massive gust of wind from his mouth with the strength to topple trees. The large lump of weapons would be met, the electrical chakras within them being thrown off by the natural weakness to wind separating them. The dozens of kunai and other bladed weapons would now be heading right back at Akio and Isamaru with breakneck speed.
