Unthinkable

I just watched the film Unthinkable which stars Samuel L Jackson and Carrie-Ann Moss.

Its a film full of moral dilemmas with no easy answer.

So, I present you the question...
If you have the culprit in custody what lengths is it acceptable to go to to find and prevent 3 nuclear bombs going off in heavily populated US cities? Torture? Illegal Torture? Torture of their children?

(to go to to? Does that even make sense?)

All of the above. I'd do some horrible, unthinkable things to one person to stop three n00ks from killing millions.

I think.

Only if you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the guy you're torturing is actually the one you should be. In the case of the movie, the guy openly stated he had bombs rigged up. But they also weren't very creative in how they tortured him. I mean, come on. Chopped off fingers? Dead wife? That's been done in hundreds of movies.

Why not cut his nose and dunk his face into a tank of red-bellied pirhanas? THAT would have been a surprise.

They had to keep him alive. Fingers being cut of sure makes me wince, I can't help but imagine how incredibly painful that would be gonk

I think torturing their children would be going a little far considering the children are the innocent parties in the matter. I can see pretending to torture the children to make him believe they were, but actually doing it? Eh.

Samuel L. Jackson really likes to be in movies with "Un-" as the prefix in the movie title.
