With it being Valentine's Day with several special events going on I would like to suggest a breeding thread for the breeds excluded from the singles event, seathi, usdia and mers.

Since the singles is likely going to replace regular breeding slots for many colorists this month, it would give a chance for owners of the excluded breeds to get a breeding.

Perhaps consider them special slots and excluded from low luck as the singles breedings would be and/or allow only one entry per person.

Additional suggestions are of course welcome.

I totally understand if adding these would be a bit much with the workload the colorists already have. Your work is always much appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I agree o: !

I feel like this is the reason why people don't really like getting mers, seathi or usdia because they're excluded so much from things like the mixer @_@

I agree, I only have one SoQ and she's a mini, I feel kind of left out of the VDay festivities.

Maybe rather then have them added on as 'extra work' The excluded breeds could be filtered in. Like, have a separate list for Usdia, Seathi and Mers. So that it makes the rollings easier and organized. So there's (when I last looked) 14 slots... Maybe ask the colorists to make 4 of those the mini's and mers. So it's 10 for the regs, and 4 for the minis still equaling 14. Excluding them sorta shows that they aren't the same as the others, less desirable. Simply because they have breed, breeding limitations. So you're leaving out people that only have mers and minis from an event.

This D: !

I mean, some are CC'd anyways, so I don't understand why Mers and minis can't enter =/

It is for simplicity sake, as the rules have stated.
It is just easier to have a strict "Mare" "Stallion" list without having to worry about possibly rolling a pair that can't happen.

While having separate lists sounds fine and all it would have to be up to the list keeper in question to decide if he or she would like to keep up with 8 different lists.

8 being 2 for full size, 2 for usdias, 2 for mers, 2 for seathis.

If I could volunteer myself for list keeper, I would totally do it.

Same. I'd volunteer too.

It's not like everyone that has a Soq is going to participate, and i'm pretty sure the list for the normal ones are going to be a lot larger than the minis and mers. I really don't see how it's hard x:

Either way, someone's going to go through the pages to determine the list.

I can see how having them in a mixer type event would be confusing as it would be inviting further variables and more lists.

It was just a thought to have something for the excluded groups for the holiday as well since many that may have entered can't because they only have usdia, seathi or mer singles.

But if any angeni and skinwalker get rolled they gotta roll again too right?

I second everything said in this thread and would gladly volunteer to do the lists >.<

Its not like this is the only Holiday event going on. Its ONE event that SOME people may not get to enter. I just think we should let the colorists run it the way they want to.

Even if there were separate lists...which list to the colorists roll off of? One of each? Then the chance of an usidia/mer getting rolled is astronomically bigger than a regular couple. Again, it's just easier for this ONE type of breeding event to do the most variable breed there is.

It's not just about listmaking, though that is one concern.

The way it stands, unless an angeni x skinwalker is rolled, then every male could breed with just about every female. If the event happens where an incompatible mix is rolled (which is unlikely - we did this last year and nothing like this happened) then the colorist will likely just rearrange their pairings so both still get a breeding but with a different partner.

If you add in separate soquili that can't breed with the population as a whole, then suddenly you're getting people who statistically have a MUCH greater chance to win a slot. As it currently stands, since every one can only enter one soquili, with 14 slots, 28 people are going to get a chance to get a breeding this month - everyone with the same chance as anyone else. And I think that's pretty awesome.

I don't want to make colorists take on more work than they think is reasonable. I don't know about others, but I don't like taking on more slots at once than I KNOW I can finish by the end of the month. Especially because you never know if you're going to roll three heavily edited pairs. There will always be more breeding slots, and most breeding raffles don't exclude minis/mers. In fact, breeding raffles often add special slots JUST for them. So I don't think it hurts to have one raffle where they're disallowed.

There will be some people excluded from this raffle; there are people who don't have any unpaired soquili. There will be people whose only soquili that might be eligible is less than a month old. There are people who may only have minis or mers. And there may be people who just don't want to take a chance with a random pairing for their soquili. But there are slots in most breeding raffles that limit the people who enter them, and doing things like this is fun for the colorists because it provides the chance for a lot of creativity or to do something that's up their alley or different.

Even if they don't get rolled, I'd at least like to see the colorists being able to CC or semi-CC from them.

If there wasn't CC I wouldn't say anything, but there is. And don't tell me they wouldn't be CC'd >: Tarala and Topher where CC'd and their kidlets are lovely D: !

I don't think very many people, since you can only enter ONE Soquili, would give up their ability to rolled at all for the slight chance of maybe being CC'd. Only, what, 3 of the 14 slots of CC?

No one is implying usdias aren't as lovely as any other Soquili. If Usdias significantly outnumbered regulars, and therefore would give the majority of people the chance the enter, they would have made it usdia only.

The simple fact it; the regular style breeds work better for this type raffle because of their LACK OF RESTRICTION. You're -only- dealing with a few minor conflicts (angeni x skinwalker; relatives)

edit 2: And there's always the MCCL if colorists want to CC usdia couples.
