Masozi needed a moment to think. A long moment. So he gathered up little Kasmai, told Miniel where he was headed, should she need anything, and headed to the forest. The forest always seemed to calm his thoughts.
He picked a tree to sit against, and cradled his tiny son in his lap. Okay, so that happened. Somehow, in a fit of mutual passion and loneliness, perhaps? Somehow, he and Miniel had...had an intimate moment with each other. Masozi didn't really remember anything except waking up the next day, which he thought was a bit sad. Miniel was very pretty, and he really did care for her...
And then the twins had showed up. A girl and a boy who looked nothing alike. The girl favored Masozi himself, with the dark red hair he'd inherited from his mother, and little delicate wings. Her eyes, like Masozi's, were two different colors. And the little boy, who Masozi now held in his arms, looked like Miniel. Dark purple skin and stark white hair, with an adorable little tail and bright, alert red eyes. The only part of himself Masozi recognized in his son was that his skin glittered. A reminder of his absent father, he thought bitterly.
