All people are not equal in creation, operation or execution. That is a lie and deep down inside you know it.

Our society never treats people in equality, which is what we strive for. People are all created equally - from the same cellular blastocysts of flesh to the fetus and then baby form. However even before the baby leaves the uterus, it becomes a cyborg - a construction of technology and nature. This is because we use technology to discover the identity inside that is called the fetus. We use technology (ie. ultrasound) to identify the fetus and label it with a gender. Once we attach these labels, we start to degrade the equality of the fetus. If it's male, we praise it more, female, not so much. Should there be any problems with gender, it is immediately considered defective and an abortion is offered.

Regardless, being politically correct is important. When we aren't, we are talking generalizations instead of specifics. For example, LGBT refers to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trans. However, this acronym doesn't include those who are questioning, 2-spirited, intersex, pansexual, and etc. That's why to be more correct we add more letters to ensure our best aim at inclusitivity or equality. Though I am not a fan of the acronym (not because it is too long) but because we separate and label different minorities with a letter. Queer is an all encompassing term because it defines those out of the heteronormative world - which includes all orientations other than straight, as well as those that are heterosexual but not heteronormative.

We may not be equal biologically, but we are all human. We are all one species, and while it is often not as much of a concern for governments or foreign relations, it's important from a social standpoint to have respect and compassion for one another. Even if you live on the fringe of society - say, if you live in the middle of nowhere, or are reclusive by nature - it is important because nobody is ever entirely separated from every other person on the planet. You will have to interact with other people and it's important for one's health to do so since we are a social species. It's why people who are alone for long periods of time often begin to go insane or otherwise deteriorate in mental (and later, physical) health.

In short, we try to be politically correct, at least around strangers and in public, because we expect and deserve the same from others.

'Politically correct' has nothing to do with politics, actually. It's more about taking into consideration the 'equality' of others in an attempt to avoid insult or grief. In reality, everything you say (and everything you don't say) can be taken as offensive. The best we can do is apologize if we do offend, and try to avoid anything that is known to be offensive.

I honestly don't know why people are politically correct. I don't believe in political correctness. I call it like it is, even if it offends others. Political correctness is what's wrong with the world today. If we'd be willing to stereotype more, maybe some of the tragic events like the Fort Hood shooting could have been avoided.
