Pride

Why do people have it? Do we really need it? Can we exist without it?
What are the biological/psychological reasons for it?

People have pride because it comes down to respect for themselves and where they come from or who they are. It's needed for sure, because everyone should acknowledge everything about themselves. To exist without it would be hard. What reasons make you unique? What defines you? Are you part of the normal or not?
Psychologically, it offers us a safety and standguard in identifying our own selves. Biologically, it doesn't really affect us unless we use it to define our mates.
