Moosenstein Felin Greenleaf I seriously would like to go to EVO one year but I can't play competitively. The differences in play style seems way less fun to me. I am going next year. It's going to be awesome. Wucha mean by differences in play style? My friends and I will let each other out of corners and purposely drop combos or back off to give the other person a chance if we're winning too hard. We like to make matches last longer and s**t, since we're just playing for fun.
Pull anything like that competitively and you're asking for the loss you just received.

For the most part playing for fun and playing competitively are the same thing. I mean some people play for different reasons. But they all have fun. It's only 5 dollars to enter, there is no venue fee. So there really isn't a reason to not join in. Even if you go 2-0, everyone does their first tournament. Unless they are Mike Ross.

Actually I kind of want to enter for BlazBlue and see how my Tager holds up.
That's like the only game where that rule doesn't apply. My friend doesn't hold back anymore just because of the sheer damage I put out with him. And he plays Tao.
