Two things: First I am trying to get my hair to grow out, so I was wondering if anyone had any tips to help it grow faster.
Second, I am thinking about starting to wear corsets to try and help me slim down, if anyone had any tidbits they can share if they've tried, or have know someone who has done it. I know I'm supposed to seek medical advice before starting it, but I have no insurance.

Washing your hair, eating right (vitamins B, C and E), and keeping away from heat tools (curling/flat irons and hair dryers) will help.

As for the corset thing, that's not in my area of knowledge. So good luck? It sounds pretty painful.

Sleeping wonder lies to me, and the lies are sweet.

For the hair thing, I've found that if you find the perfect shampoo/conditioner for your hair type, it'll be a lot happier and grow a lot faster. But also keep in mind that your hair type also might need less washing. My hair is very thick, for example, so I shouldn't wash it every day or I get dandruff.
I agree with the person above me: stay away from flat irons, curling irons, hairdryers, etc. They'll give you split ends and dry out your hair so it's unhealthy and won't grow. You can search online for some products that might help, but don't just blindly buy at the store: Research is always the first step.
For brands, I've found Herbal Essences to be the best, personally. I was a Garnier person all my life until I found the HE. However, 7th Heaven is also good, but pretty pricey and you can usually only get it at a salon. Depending on how far up you wanna go, you can make those choices.

As for the corset thing, I've never worn one nor do I know anyone who does. You might want to look up less extreme ways of slimming down. I know my sister had a girdle-type garment that didn't constrict her airways but tucked in her tummy. There are also certain shirts that you can buy called "skinnies" that go under the shirt you're wearing that help slim you down underneath.
If you do decide to go with the corset, try not to wear it for too long at one time, and always make sure someone else helps you with it. You'll want to not do anything strenuous on your lungs while wearing it, just to be on the safe side.

Oh, yeah, I know not to overdo it with the corset. I just need it to reshape the figure that i once had before i got really fat.
Good thing for the hair with me is I never like to use blow dryers or curling irons anyway. The eating right has been hard, hence me being fat and needing to slim down. I live on my own and cheap food is easy, but it's the worst. If i could afford it, I would SO go organic everything. For shampoo, Dove intensive repair works really well for me. I have to wash my hair about every day, my scalp is a combination of dry and oily, so it's been really hard to find anything that works for me.
