Ok, I have no idea what this Ames Straw Poll is, but I've been hearing about Michelle Bachmann winning. Supposedly she made a big deal about it with announcers saying she was gonna be the President of the U.S. It kind of got me thinking, what's gonna happen to us if she wins the 2012 election? How can a woman who claims to be christian, try to hurt people like that? I feel like everything she says, she tries to back it up by saying it has something to do with God? Am I the only one who feels freaked out about this? I mean, have you seen those videos of her husband trying to turn a gay male straight? I'm sure many people have enough problems with their sexuality with family, I don't think they need problems with a president. Am I the only who thinks this is freaky? And am I the only one who is actually scared?

As one of the only Republican voters in this guild, I will say that I'm not scared one bit of Michelle Bachmann. I don't really have any problem with her, besides her misstatings. I don't think she hates gays either, she just does not approve of homosexuality. None of the candidates approve of homosexuality, not even President Obama supports same-sex marriage. Now am I voting for Bachmann, no. I'm voting for the more moderate Mitt Romney. But if Bachmann is the nominee, I will cast my ballot for her in 2012. There's no need for hateful rhetoric by the way. Just because she doesn't like gays does not mean it's the end of the world.

And the Ames Straw Poll is a presidential straw poll, or where voters vote for a candidate but the vote does not count toward the caucus, of Republican voters in Ames, Iowa. Michelle Bachmann did win the poll. It does not mean she will win the nomination though. She'll probably carry Iowa and it's delegates, but she's 3rd nationally in polls behind Mitt Romney and Rick Perry.

Personally, I hate all the candidates.
Rick Perry is just using religion to win, which is BS.
Bachmann is an anti-gay, porn hater.
And I don't know anything about Romney.
If any of those idiots win, we'll just keep screwing the pooch.
Same with pretty much any other candidates.
At this point, we're totally ******** doubt heavily anyone can fix what we've got into.
But eh, I say we need another Nixon.
I'm not 100% sure if it was him, or Reagan,
Or someone totally different,
but whoever it was had ALOT of these annoying ******** shitting themselves.
We need someone to tell our debt collectors to ******** off, or eat some high-grade explosive weaponry. We need someone who'll stop giving these foreign countries money, 'cause they just hate us. so ******** 'em. And we need someone to bring back industry to America. Otherwise, we'll keep ramming our dicks into the dirt until we die out.
Sorry for the language, I'm just pissed off today. :/

I don't have any issue with someone who simply dislikes the idea, but those two articles point her as having no respect for the personal freedom and liberty of the LGBT community. That alone is reason enough for me to not vote for her, ever. That type of reason reeks with supremacist upbringings and the idea that anyone different is automatically inferior.

There's no reason to actually be scared. Enough people are aware of how cooky Tea Party people are, lost causes.
Plus, she's a woman. You have noo idea how many people hate that..

Relax, it's not as if she would actually be able to go all halocaust on us or something. Also, it's incredibly unlikely that she'll end up getting elected anyways. She's nothing more than a robot theocon with weak ties to dominionism that's apparently going back in time, since she thinks the soviet union is on the rise. rolleyes

Forget Canada. I'm taking a .44 magnum to my head if that woman becomes president.

...Or moving to the UK...>.> The UK would be a better option methinks.

The thought of her winning is very frightening to me. Luckily, I think her chances are slim to none, and the media seems to portray her less like a serious competitor and more like a sick joke these days.

The thought of Bachmann winning scares me as well. Not only for her very hateful views towards the LGBT community, but based on a lot of other things she has said. While I'm not much of a supporter of Obama, if it came down to him and her, I'd rather re-elect Obama than see that woman in office. I don't foresee Bachmann getting on the ballot though. While she had a lot of popularity before, it seems she's losing that popularity to the other candidates. Her popularity has gone down a lot.
