So Mr. Flappytongue got some one-on-one time with me today. We're restricting Riddle's activity thanks to her elbow, but Melon had the crazy eyeballs, so we let Riddle have some father/daughter time and we went out to the river.

He liked the walk down to the water:

This was the dog too scared to jump up into the car when I got him!

Then went to get his stick...


But dropped it halfway back!


I made him sit and be pretty:

Where is it that you take your dogs walking? It looks gorgeous. Melon is all grown up! crying He's all handsome now, he doesn't look awkward and lanky anymore. I still see Pit big time, just not too sure where he'd get those long legs from. Also, like the life jacket, how much and where do I get one?

Gaby, its an old school Ruffwear life jacket. Their new Portage ones function the same, but I find the colours hideous. I was really lucky to pick this one up practically new from someone on Craigslist. Riddle has the same one. I think retail on the jackets is $50.

50 bucks! omg, seriously? That's insane. I can get one at work for 35 but it's the old outward hound model, the orange is pretty ugly. The newer model is nice, we don't carry it, yet anyways, maybe once we get rid of the old model we'll order a new one. There's also a nice one at the vet for 50. But I can't bring myself to spend 15 dollars more than I need to just for style. Plus Cowboy is a very very strong swimmer. I only want one so I can go on kayak rides and such and pull him in easily when he gets tired. And so he's visible to the motor boats that speed by like freaken retards evil

Gaby, the Ruffwear ones are absolutely worth it. They hold up great. Riddle is a nightmare on equipment- she can break buckles, shred fabric, rip seams, and generally ruin everything I put on her just because she's a dork and runs around so crazy. But she's had her Ruffwear life jacket for four years now, which is unheard of. Its finally starting to wear out, and I think I'll replace it next summer, but four years is a miracle with that dog.
