if its an impule buy ill start small but if ive planned on having this animal for a while ill go ahead and get the big tank
i hope you can get a proper sized enclosure for your beardy soon though, they grow fast
im still hoping to upgrade my fish to a 55 sometime after i rearange the stuff in my house. i may end up putting it in my reptile/sun room. right now though all m ymoney is going towards toys and stuff for stowrm. that dog can chew lol
I am hoping I get MYSELF a proper enclosure soon, too. Maybe it will be sooner than the planned 2 years, at least though because *big breath* I won't be spending all I earn on school.
I have quit.
Not completely. I am going to change schools. Because even with my Pell Grant, I've got a student loan AND hundreds of dollars every quarter out of pocket too. So I went to a job counselor. And he basically told me I wasn't going to MAKE enough as a Vet Tech to even pay back my loans, so I was going to start even deeper in debt. Since I am on Medicaid, living in my parent's basement, that is not an option for me. ALso, I hurt my spine and arm last quarter, had to quit a class because I couldn't pass off my competencies. And things aren't healing well. Apparently Vet Tech is too physical of a job for me.
I wish I could be a vet tech. But I can't. I can't afford to be a vet tech. Not do that and be able to afford a little house and afford proper care of all my pets.
So I am quitting my expensive private college and going to a state school where a Pell can actually cover almost ALL of tuition AND books. But UVU doesn't have Vet Tech. Broadview is the ONLY school in the state with an accredited program. Next semester, I will be going back to ASL and Deaf Studies at UVU. Be an interpreter.
It won't be the same as being a Vet Tech but it will mean earning enough to take car of my own animals, and probably take in rescues, which right now I can not do.
So it is still a decision for my animals. It is just... a different one. I don't know. It hurts, this choice. And I know this topic is about, you know, tanks, not school. But it's a new thing and I just had to vent a little.
Pros:
Out of my parent's house sooner, hopefully
Money for a house, for my pets (bigger cages, a pond, etc.), for rescuing and fostering.
Not as physical
Cons:
It's not an animal related related field
I was doing really well. I made the dean's list. I think I would have done well as a vet tech. And I like doing something I am GOOD at.
Yeah, SIGH.

I'll have to be careful to stay away from the aquariums when I pass by in 2 weeks. I don't need to be contracting MTS from you people. I'm happy with my current setup. I got everything I want...sept the snowball pleco lol. Shy is still being a total pain and hiding out to the point I constantly worry he will starve to death.
I don't think any of us have been practicing safe chatting, so you may have already contracted it :XHee hee hee!
