Huh... in Australia waiters are ACTUALLY paid properly. In Japan not only is that the case but if you leave a tip the staff will try to reach you before you get to the door to return the extra money to you.

American restaurants suck in comparison.

Because we didn't become the monstrous country we are today by properly paying people by their value.

The Statue of Liberty says bring us your meek and poor. It didn't say we'd respect them.

I don't know if it's really paying them improperly.

Tips are there to make sure you are paid on how well you do.
Granted, the major flaw is that some people don't tip well... but the principle is a good thing.

Though I will agree, waiters should make at LEAST minimum wage, plus tips,

I tip according to the size of the bill. 1 digit number: $1.00, price in the tens, $2.00, price in the twenties, $3.00...

Ah... See, we tip based on percentage in America.

For awful service, I tip 10%
For OK service, I tip 15%
For good service, I tip 20%
For great service, I tip 25-35%.

I am American. I used to tip $3.00 for a bill with the dollar portion being 1 digit, but I was told I was being extremely generous by doing that and I didn't need to tip that much.

Also, it's morphin time!

Eh, I tip generously... I tend to give 10% when it's less than 10$ though.

And yeah! I've been loving GoBuster.

I don't really pay attention to the full quality of the service as long as the food is good and service is prompt.

And come to think of it I've been tipping $_.50 instead of a full dollar amount lately.

unlike other countries, We feel like we must make tips incentives for wait staff to do a good job. however this doesn't work in two ways. Hardworking waitstaff are busting their a** just to make ends meet by offering their best service for an unpromised amount of money. Most likely this folks get stiffed.

then theres the servers who give poor service, but will chase you out the door demanding their tip. and yes ive been chased out the door by several servers who demanded tip. And they do not accept "you were a terrible server, so I tipped the other guy who helped me more" as an answer.

Also in many resturants, they will add on a manitory tip to the bill. If you do not leave a tip, they will automaticly take 15% from your credit card. This has happened to me before as well. When I called to explain why I left a smaller tip, that person was promtly fired. They also didnt refund the money they took.

gonk Amukica, why you so a** backwards?
