Kay, so I'm allergic to the stuff they put in Band-Aids. I just got some new running shoes for gym and the tongue of the shoes rubs on a scratch. It hurts quite a bit when I wear them. So, would it be safe to put a band-aid on or suffer? I honestly don't think I have anything else that would help.
I really need some replies tonight since I have school tomorrow.

Hmmmm try just putting a small piece cloth over the scratch and tie it so that it's secure and all covered. That's really the only solution I can tink of for you. sad

Either find a band-aid that doesn't have whatever you're allergic to ( You didn't state what it was you were allergic to, sorry) .. or use a wrap on your foot.

Lady Kira X Either find a band-aid that doesn't have whatever you're allergic to ( You didn't state what it was you were allergic to, sorry) .. or use a wrap on your foot. I have no idea what it is, all I know is that it itches, turns red, and puffs up. I'm also out of wraps. -_- I suppose I'll just use some cloth if it'll stay on...

What about asking your school nurse?

Try taking a piece of clear tape and insert a piece of a cotton ball/pad or gauze to the center of it then stick it over your scratch. Should work kinda like a band-aid. (and its cheaper)
The only down side is it doesnt have any holes to let the scratch breathe so don't wear it all day.

I agree with the other girls, either finding a way to secure a piece of cloth over the irritated area, or use cotton and tape to secure it.
I've had to use paper towels and masking tape as an emergency bandage in a pinch, it works pretty well if there are no other options available. : )
As for the bandaids, you might either be allergic to latex, or allergic to the adhesive. It's not an uncommon problem, so you might be able to find alternative bandage products. I would ask a pharmacist the next time you go to a drug store, or wherever else that has a pharmacist on duty. They may know of safe alternatives for you.

cloth, a folded up tissue or gauze secured with scotch tape works great.

As it was mentioned, try a cotton ball or gauze and tape it to the area your shoes are rubbing you. It should work smile Good luck! And if you have to, even though you said the nurse wasn't there during your gym period, you could always go talk to her anyway and find a solution ^^

You could try returning the shoes and getting a new pair or putting a strip of duct-tape on the tongue where the material is rough.

I'm allergic to the adhesive on band-aids too. What I use is medical tape. It's hypoallergenic and stays on for awhile. Put a piece of gauze where you have the scratch and wrap some tape around it. Your skin will get used to the texture eventually. Thicker socks is a suggestion.
