Ever since the island fell out of the sky, the Guardian's have been mysteriously silent. Most Pae'il will not have noticed, but the more devout ones would have.

Iris, the messenger for the Guardians, has been scarce. And when she is spotted, she's got an aura of worry and unease surrounding her. She's not been around to help usher in holidays or post announcements or to even help deliver new babies. (Other faeries have been doing that lately.)

The most noticeable sign that the Guardians haven't been around is the lack of new Elders and guidance for the existing ones.

With the Guardians mysteriously quiet, the ancients and other powers have began to resurface.

=======================

The mysterious cave that opened up on the border of Loka Nei Forest and To'ul Mountain when the island settled into the sea had been wide open. Until now. Recently, a magic barrier has been put up, sealing off the cave entrance. Keeping whatever is in there, from getting out. Or is it to keep others out?

Spotted around this barrier, 3 mysterious new Pae'il; a child faerie pae, and a teenage faerie pae, as well as a strange adult pae. Its unknown at this time if they're responsible, or even connected to the new seal on the cave. But their constant presence in the area shouldn't be overlooked.

This Plot will include important characters which we will designate as IPCs. (important plot character)

General Rules regarding IPCs:
  1. IPCs, due to their importance in our plot, can be re-homed if their owner goes inactive in the shop. You don't have to always RP your character, but just show us you are active and around for when he or she will be needed.
  2. Most IPCs cannot become Luminaries. (the new version of Elders) The reason for this is because they serve a purpose in the plot, and will likely come heavily edited already. We will let all players know beforehand when an IPC is eligible to become a Luminary.
  3. You will be given advanced information in regards to the plot, that deals directly with your IPC.
  4. You will be expected to follow the RP guidelines and rules, to maintain the integrity of our plot. Remember, this is a part you are playing. It isn't you, its a character. Rules are created for reasons. Any one with an IPC attempting to skirt or break the rules will lose control of their IPCs. All I ask is you play fair. If you want to RP loopholes, do that with your own pae, not the IPCs.
  5. IPCs will always be free. We will give them out via RP contests or to people who show themselves to be exceptional team players and good with the plot. They will never be raffled or auctioned, or given out via games of chance, because we do want to control who plays the important roles.

We're not penalizing or singling-out any one. We're adding another facet to the Fifth Age. If you want to play, you will follow the directions. You don't have to RP in the plot if you don't want to follow the rules or if you feel they are out of line.

Background info on Holy Knights:
  • The Guardians are actually not missing. They're growing weaker, so they're planning and plotting and looking for reasons and solutions.
  • Since the Guardians no longer can do many of the things they used to, they enlist the help of specially chosen angels and demons. They will become the Holy Knights.
  • The Guardians will use up almost the last of their powers to "power-up" these chosen Pae'il when they become adults. They will all have special powers, which are quite a bit stronger than an average Pae's powers.
  • Their first duty will be to destroy the magic the barrier sealing off the cave in Loka Nei Forest. But this won't happen until they are Adults and powered-up.
  • They will not be able to become Luminaries due to their role in the plot.
  • All Holy Knights must praise and worship the Guardians as their deity. They must also encourage the pae they meet to do the same. They are afterall, trying to save their beloved Guardians.
  • There cannot be any 'rogue' Holy Knights who decide to go against their duties. They are all faithful and loyal, and will listen to their leader.
  • All Holy Knights will have the motivation of trying to find the reason the Guardians have grown weak, and trying to find the solution. They also will NEVER tell any other Pae'il that the Guardians are in a weakened state. They will praise and speak of the Guardians as they were years ago at their full power.
  • They themselves believe there is an evil on the island draining the Guardians. They vow to destroy this evil.

About the Holy Knights:
  • Each Knight will have their own title, which will be revealed when they show up.
  • All Holy Knights can only be Demons or Angels.
  • Holy Knights will carry some prejudice against the Ancient Pae'il breeds. (Naiads, Faun, Miakis, Sila and Dracian; not all have been discovered yet). They will also feel superior to the Faerie Pae'il.
  • Holy Knights worship the Guardians faithfully.
  • Holy Knights will believe the Ancients are heretics are not in fact "ancient" but recent abominations who are spreading lies.
  • Each Holy Knight will be a reincarnation of a former Holy Warrior from the past.
  • All Holy Knights powers are in their own power class: Holy Light.
  • Among the 7 Holy Knights, one of them is the Grand Lord, the leader. The other 6 will follow the Grand Lord's orders.
  • The Holy Knights will all be clad in armor and most likely be brandishing their weapon on their certs.

Important Note: NO OTHER PAE'IL ON THE ISLAND KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT THE GUARDIANS, OTHER THAN THEY'VE GONE MORE PASSIVE. NO PAE'IL IS ALLOWED TO KNOW ANYTHING CONTAINED WITHIN THIS CONTEST. Except the 14 chosen teens.

This contest will be different from anything we've ever done. We're going to keep entries open for one month, and everyone is allowed to enter as many times as they want, however, you can only win one Holy Knight. We will select 14 of the best entries, and make a teen pae (angel or demon only) based on the chosen concepts.

From the time the 14 Pae arrive, till the time we grow them, we will be closely watching the RP involved with these pae'il. We will choose 7 of the best RP'd pae to become the Holy Knights when they grow to adult. There is a chance the other 7 might not survive the final trial at all, so some may not make to see the adult stage.

What we will look for in the RP:
  • Quality of the RP.
  • Is the player following the RP rules?
  • Is the pae being RP'd properly? (are they being RP'd as if they fit into the FA world, or just as a little person that could be RP'd anywhere?)
  • Is the player having fun with it? Or is it reading as forced?
  • Is the RP creative, and does it contain conflict of some sort? Is the RP helping with character development?
  • Is a scene being created? Is it full of one-liners?

Any of the 14 teens that are not RP'd will not grow nor live to become a Holy Knight. The 7 pae'il not chosen as Holy Knights do have a chance to die, but depending on the story created by the RPer, some might live to become regular adult Pae'il.

There is a chance that if someone completely blows us away and impresses us, their Pae could grow into something equally as important as a Holy Knight, but fulfilling a different role. (Details on this will be revealed to anyone receiving a pae'il of this type.) So there is a chance, depending on enthusiasm and participation, that more than 7 of the teens will grow into an IPC.

=====================

Ages ago, the Guardians commanded a very powerful army. Among the ancient denizens of Telrunya, they were referred to as the Holy Army. They were strong, and fierce. Some said they were even invincible and immortal. They always successfully completed all orders and objectives. For centuries, they were the law, and they were feared. Its still unknown how they were finally defeated, or if they even were defeated, but they did eventually disappear.

The Guardians, in their weakened state, managed to successfully complete their ritual to awaken the Ancient Holy Army. This act however, drained a lot of their remaining powers.

The Guardians sent out their most trusted Fairies to collect all the babies that were born with the mark of the Holy Army and bring them to a secret, hidden location. These Fairies raised them with love, teaching them the ways of the Guardians, and the proper history of Telrunya. When they became teenagers, they were sent to special Training Grounds, to be taught how to be strong and effective Paladins, and to prepare them to do the Guardians' work.

From the moment training started, the 14 teens were informed that the Guardians have only enough power left to grant Knighthood to 7 of them, so they have to compete, to be better than others. The competition will test their strength, endurance, intelligence and faith.

This contest will require you to create the backstory and general characteristics of the Pae'il you'd like to play as a Holy Knight. We will choose the most creative and inspirational entries to become Teenagers for Round Two.

Rules for Round One:
  1. Fill out the questionnaire provided for each character concept you want to enter. Post completed questionnaires in this thread. Missing information will result in that entry being disqualified.
  2. You can submit as many different characters as you'd like. But only 2 can potentially be selected for Round Two. And you can only win one Holy Knight.
  3. Be patient. We're going to reveal the 14 pae over time, most likely 1-2 at a time.
  4. Shop staff may enter this contest, but cannot create their own pae, nor judge their own entry. (Also remember there are only 4 shop staff. I am allowing them to enter to increase the number of participants. Players get precidence over staff in final judging for the Holy Knights.)
  5. There must be a minimum of 7 different players entering this contest for their to be 14 finalist pae. The number will be adjusted according to the number of participants, not the number of entries. (Meaning, if we only have 5 different people participating, we'll only have 10 finalists, etc.)

Rules for Round Two:
  1. Once you receive your teenager, you may jump into any RP. But remember, fluff RP (RP that results in only a hookup, or nothing happens, will not count towards anything, and we discourage any IPCs from participating in this type of RP.)
  2. You must participate in at least one training class by each of the five trainers. (You have to RP with each trainer in order to gain the required knowledge to play a Holy Knight.)
  3. Please follow all guidelines set up for these Pae'il. Including keeping their biases and prejudices, and keeping them faithful to the Guardians.
  4. Please follow all RP rules, including no Godmodding and no breaking the 4th wall.
  5. Any of the 14 teens who decides to rebel against the Guardians or decide to go against authority will be taken away. That is not the purpose of these characters. You can do that with your own pae.

RP Requirements for Round Two will be posted when we reveal the 14 finalists. Tentatively, expect to have to RP with each of the 5 trainers at least once, RP with fellow contestants and expect a big trial/battle-type at the end.

Advertising Contest will be revealed closer to contest launch.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 26, 2011 11:25 pm
Your Name: Dementia Requiem Asumi
Pae'il's Name: Harveer
Breed: Angel
Gender: Male

Suggested Power: Angel Flights. The ability to create platforms of light that are paper thin. It's able to hold exactly 1000lbs, and not a hair more. The platforms are unable to slice through anything. He would have to jump from one to another, each being a minimum of two yards apart.

Weapon of Choice: Harveer prefers to use a pair of bladed tonfas. One for each arm.

Personality: He's a 'macho' man of sorts with a soft spot for small fluffy and soft objects. he's a man of strong beliefs and faith. If anyone were to challenge him on any of it, well expect to be a bloody pulp before you could get more than a few sentences out. His temper can be short at times, and while he works on fixing this, it never seems to work for him. Harveer will stop and stare at a pretty female if she's passing by. He's been known to stop and stare at several of the other trainees before too.

Merits: 1. Confidence. He is very confident in his ability to protect that which is most important to him. Positive he will accomplish anything he is told to do. 2. Reliability. If you prove your worth to him, he likes you, or he just thinks you're in the right, he'll stand up for you and see it through until the end and you're declared a winner in whatever it is you two are fighting for. 3. Stubborn. Harveer will stick to things until the very end. It works in both ways as both a merit and a flaw. If you're in trouble, he will make sure you get out of it, even if it means you get the drill from him after.
Flaws: 1. Full of himself. He's always thinking he's the best at everything even when he has solid proof that he is not. 2. Harveer has a holier than thou attitude about things. In his mind, he is always going to be better than you at everything. He feels that even the guardian's love him more because he is simply him. 3. Stubborn. He'll stick with something until the bitter end. If it's an argument that he knows he is wrong with, he'll keep up with the side he started with. Harveer will not back down from anything he's started on.

Likes: Pretty maidens, his work, learning new battle techniques, worshiping his guardians. And soft fluffy things, not that he'll tell anyone about that though.
Dislikes: Harveer dislikes being interrupted while in the middle of anything. He will be very pissed if anyone stumbles upon his

Fears: he fears most that he isn't good enough in the eyes of the guardians. Lesser fears being that he isn't as good of a fighter as he believes himself to be. Or perhaps due to his arrogance and general attitude towards others he isn't really an asset to the guardians.
Goals: To be the Grand Lord of the Holy Knights, after that he would enjoy to take over the post for Grand Champion Hania or one of the other fighting instructors.
Character Behavior: While he may be a macho man on the inside, he attempts to display that on the out. He's not the most sociable pae in the land. Often times he cannot find a good way to convey his emotions or thoughts into words, unless of course it's dealing with the guardians. He's a little gruff, especially when it comes to those pretty females, and has a good tendency to try and fight everything.

Brief History: As a child, Harveer liked to watch the avalon faeries train, especially while his parents were off on a task for the guardians. His parents were strict enough to keep him worshiping the holy guardians on a daily basis, forming his love for them and everything they do and stand for.

As he got older, Harveer began to experience more parts of life. It granted him more freedom yet it was more restricting at the same time. His parents didn't force him into as much anymore, yet the faeries were pushing him into training courses to learn simple things like self defense. He'll willingly admit that he was raised with very straight forward beliefs and he would bash the brains in of anyone who disagreed with any of it. Naturally, this caused problems and he was put in the training program's version of detention. Hard labor, when he wasn't in classes or training in battle, on top of his chores to help out.

Questions: (answer in-character please)

1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids?Of course I did! I was the most popular kid and anyone who didn't agree with me was shunned from the circle!
2. What is your earliest memory? That's a tough question.. I suppose it would be the first time I was allowed to see my real parents. I hadn't realized that I was taken from them when I was little to be trained to be a knight. They were very nice to me and the other children, I miss them a lot.
3. Are you an optimistic or pessimistic?I'm going to say optimistic. I try to look on the bright side of things even when I can't see a way out. Better to keep some hope than to loose it all and end up dead because of it right?
4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they? Lets see.. I think I'm probably a bit of an a** and I curse far too much for a lady's gentle ears.. I do habitually visit the little pond in the park to check on the baby ducklings I found there guardian's know how long ago..
5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? I think the most influential fairy was probably Nana.. She was the one who encouraged me to seek refuge in the park when I was stressed.. It was also thanks to her that I got to meet my parents. I wouldn't be who I am without her.
6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do? Spout lies about the guardians. They are the holy beings, divine in every way. There is no worse sin than that. Those filthy abominations without wings, they're idiots who need to be taught a lesson for spouting lies.
7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? Yes, there is surely that existence out there. You can see it in the animals, they would not mate for life if they had not found that one meant solely for them. It must be true with pae'il like us too. Why else would the thought exist? The guardian's surely wouldn't send us down here with the purpose of just worshiping them. They're not that self centered.
8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? I'm fairly honest with my thoughts and feelings. The only thing I keep hidden is my love for small objects.. Maybe the fuzzy ones too.. In any case, if I have an opinion on it, you know it. I make sure you know exactly how I feel about it and that you know you shouldn't do it if it's not right.
9. Do you have any biases or prejudices? Of course I do, everyone does. I hate those filthy abominations that call themselves ancient pae'il. They just sprung out of nowhere and called themselves that simply because it sounds better than abnormalities. Anyone who doesn't worship the guardian's needs a lesson in truth. I'm not saying they have to believe in them as strongly as I do, just that everyone should worship the guardians.
10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? I refuse to renounce my faith. Life on the line, my life's work or anything else on the line, I would give it all up simply to keep that one thing. Nothing else matters to me as much as that. If I had to make a list of things I couldn't live without, aside from the essentials like air and nutrition, the very top of the list is my belief in the guardians. Nothing will ever convince me that it's wrong or that I should change my faith.
11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? I would die to protect what I believe in. Be it the guardian's or the ducklings I've been trying to raise under the wary watchmen of the city. Though I suppose if I've chosen to stick by you through thick and thin, I'd go to the ends of the isle and back for you, death if that's what it'll take to get us out of the situation...
12. What do you do to unwind? There's this little duck pond that I found in the park just outside of the training grounds. There was a family of ducks there the other day, and a few other animals. I like to go there and watch all the wildlife pass through. Sometimes they'll come up and I'll get to touch them. The only ones I don't like are the ones with spikes and points that aren't very soft to the touch.. They seem to know that too because those are the ones that never come near me...

Prompt #3 "Your training has to be kept a secret from all pae'il. On your first outing to see the rest of the island, you meet another Teen Pae. Its a Faerie Pae and he starts talking about a some top-secret activity going on in the now-closed Telrunya City. How do you dispel those rumors?"

Harveer stretched, walking along the outside of the castle inside the city. He had been allowed a day off and a day off outside the castle. A very rare thing indeed for him. He sighed a bit, not sure what to do with himself. Surely the guardian's would be upset if he spent his free time in one of their temples. He had been told to go outside and relax.. He couldn't stand the boredom.. Even his favorite little pond didn't hold much interest for him right now.. But then again.. Why not visit, see if the ducklings had moved on or not.

It wasn't long before he spotted another at the pond. The frown was instantly on his face as he eyed the pae with glass wings. A faerie pae of all things. He was positive they were uneducated pae, but he wasn't going to say that unless this one showed abnormal interest in the city.. Little did he know that this pae was going to ask about it..

Harveer walked over, eyes narrowing a bit but making an effort to smile. "Hey.." He called out to the other, fervently glad that he'd left his armor at home yet wishing he'd brought along at least one of those self defense items..

The faerie jumped, looking at the angry seeming angel approaching. "Hi!" He smiled, he had a question to ask anyone he found around the city... "Hey have you heard about the pae that are still living inside the city? It's been closed for a while now but.. I swear sometimes I still see lights on and hear noises coming from it." He frowned a bit, looking at the walls of the city.

"Activity inside the city?" Harveer knew it was there. He was part of it, but he couldn't let the fae know that.. "There are fae that live in there still.. Sometimes they get active at night." He shrugged, hoping that would dispell the rumor with this faerie.

"I heard someone say it was super secret activity.. Are you sure it's just the fae?" He asked, frowning. The faerie didn't believe what the angel in front of him was saying. It just sounded so weird. And where did he come from anyways? "Who are you? Where are you from? I haven't seen anyone like you around here ever.."

Harveer sighed, rubbing his neck. He understood there was a lot more explaining to be done.. "I'm sure it's just the fae. It's not like any pae live in there anymore." He chuckled, trying to sound convincing. Then came the questions about him. Well at least it was time to put his acting skills to the test.

"I'm Harveer, I live in the woods around these parts. Or well I did until I realized my parents are kicking me out. Gotta find a new place to crash." He shrugged, looking out in a random direction. He hoped it would make the other believe him a bit more.

The faerie frowned but didn't press the matter too much. It was clear the angel didn't know anything or that if he did he wasn't going to say it. "I suppose.." And with that the conversation was dropped.

Harveer was pleased he'd managed to drop the conversation. Hopefully he'd made the other think there wasn't anything going on inside the city walls..

( I know it's a messed up form but I need to get it out of notepad and I'll fix it in the morning! )

Your Name: Wolfs Heart
Pae'il's Name: Genesis
Breed: Angel
Gender: Female

Suggested Power: Light Wall: Genesis is able to create a wall of light that is impenetrable. The wall can only be the size of a standard doorway, so it can be used as a personal shield or to block a door, but can not encompass her entire being or a fortress.
Weapon of Choice: A long, two-handed sword, the blade is either made of flame or shaped like a flame.

Personality: Genesis is extremely passionate towards her duties to the guardians and towards the pae of Telrunya. She is often very outspoken about her beliefs and can sometimes be offensive to others without realizing it. Because her passion can be annoying to many, not many will get close to her. Those who do get close to her, Genesis is loyal to and will protect at all costs.
  • Merits:
Zealous- any belief or opinion that Genesis holds, she sticks to passionately and strongly
Dutiful- she obeys those she views as above her, especially if told to stay and guard something, she won't move for anything
Hopeful- Genesis studies the past and hopes that people can learn from it and have a better future
  • Flaws:
Know-it-all- a downfall to her zealousness, Genesis believes she knows everything and is closed-minded to other things.
Blunt- sometimes she is blunt when countering the beliefs of others and this can be insulting.
Insecure- beneath her display of knowledge and strength of belief, Genesis is actually quite afraid that she might be wrong about everything, and that she fights for nothing.

Likes: Learning (she will often go off and study on her own, mostly to find information that supports her beliefs), protecting knowledge, practicing defensive strategies, day-dreaming, gardens and gardening (Genesis finds that these are the best places to meditate and find focus.
Dislikes: the dis-unified state she believes Telrunya is in, lack of faith, those who disobey, and meat (strictly vegetarian).

Fears: Genesis has a hidden fear that the histories are wrong and that she is wrong in her beliefs, but to others it would appear that she has no fears at all.
Goals: Genesis believes that the Pae's lack of faith in the Guardians is the reason for the recent storm and why they are unable to progress. Genesis desires for the pae to remember the Guardians and realize they have a purpose beyond reproducing.
Character Behavior: Genesis will often be found in the gardens with a history book, most often with a copy of The Book of Transcendence. When engaged in conversation, she can sometimes be extremely eloquent in wording and persuasive, but if people challenge her beliefs too frequently she can become blunt and insulting. She believes in keeping her body pure which is why she is strictly vegetarian, as well as being hesitant of romances.

Brief History: For Genesis, the first thing she remembers is walking outside of the quarters of the keep and stumbling upon a garden. It was here that she would go to escape from daily chores and training. As she grew older and realized the importance of these things she went to the garden to relax after a day's hard work and focused diligently on the training she had received. Genesis' favorite teacher, growing up, was Asatira. While Genesis is not as adventurous as her favorite teacher, she values everything the Mellon has to say as the truth and believes that others have false illusions about the history of the island. From a young age, Genesis was borrowing books from the expansive library to grow her knowledge. She was often introverted and stuck to herself in order to better train, but she does it for the purpose of helping others and of course for the Guardians.

Questions:
  1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids?
I would say, yes. I mean...I didn't often spend time with them, but I never really had conflicts with them. They are my comrades though, and I believe we are on similar journeys.
  2. What is your earliest memory?
I remember the garden I always visit. Almost as soon as I was able to walk and move about Telrunya. It was beautiful and peaceful.
  3. Are you an optimistic or pessimistic?
I think it really depends on the situation, there are somethings that I am extremely hopeful about, I really think if we reached out to the Pae of Telrunya and showed them the Guardians, it could change their lives. But sometimes... sometimes, I wonder.
  4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they?
Well I... uhm.... no. I mean I am very interesting in knowledge, and sometimes it can get on people's nerves when I start listing off facts. Knowledge isn't a bad thing at all though. So it really is more of an annoying quirk that other people have, rather then me.
  5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did?
My teacher, Professor Asatira, without a doubt. She has seen and done and knows so much and has taught me everything I know that I haven't taught myself. She really does speak the truth, and I think its important that everyone knows the truth.
  6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do?
The worst... is to be a traitor.
  7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
True love, yes, I believe the love I have for the Guardians is the truest love there is. I don't believe in soul mates though, people's search for soul mates and romance just distracts from our purpose. It really is silly. I have never experience a love of any kind other then for the Guardians.
  8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings?
I usually speak my mind about things, but my feelings... well those are mine and I try not to feel them anyways, they really are distracting for myself, and it would be distracting to share them with others.
  9. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
Yes... I am prejudiced again pae who do not follow the Guardians and who waste their time chasing after things that don't matter. But I intend to show them the way.
  10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
I don't think I could ever kill someone... all my life they have taught me to fight, but I have mostly been learning it to defend myself from those who might stand in my way. I would try to disarm them rather then kill them. My body and my mind are pure and I think having the death of someone on my hands would taint me.
  11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for?
Firstly and foremost, the Guardians. This is my purpose. If I die a martyr, so be it. I wouldn't die for my personal beliefs, it would be a waste of my life if I died for that. I wouldn't change my beliefs either though... If I had to protect something, I would die for that.
  12. What do you do to unwind?
I go to the garden and meditate to unwind, read an old book. The smell of old books is relaxing as well.

Pick ONE of these prompts to respond to:
"Your training has to be kept a secret from all pae'il. On your first outing to see the rest of the island, you meet another Teen Pae. Its a Faerie Pae and he starts talking about a some top-secret activity going on in the now-closed Telrunya City. How do you dispel those rumors?"

Genesis was finally old enough to leave the fortress she had grown up in. She was excited to see the world that she had learned about. She had a vast knowledge of this island from what she had learned in her training, but what was knowledge without experiencing it first-hand. Genesis was walking slowly, her eyes scanning everything for any disturbances. It was her first time and she needed to be on her guard. She had moved a good distance away from the city when she spotted a faerie zipping through the forest, he looked just like the faeries who had raised her, but she didn’t recognize him. He was heading in the opposite direction as her towards Telrunya city. “Hey!” he stopped and at the same time stopped her. “You’re coming from Telrunya City.” Genesis glanced over her shoulder at the path she had come up and then looked back at the faerie. She wasn’t able to tell him she was coming from the city, she was going to have to lie and give a pretty convincing lie too, he seemed too interested in the direction she was coming from. “Well I was near there, but everyone knows the city has been shut down.” she responded to him.
“Yeah, yeah, so they say. Did you see anything… strange… going on?” He pressed her. Strange? What was this boy getting at? “I didn’t see anything, it’s a shut-down city. There’s nothing strange about it other then that. He raised his eyebrows at her. “That’s just what they want us to think, but I hear they’re doing some top-secret stuff in there.”
Genesis shook her head. “Oh you stupid fairy, where did you hear something like that?” He frowned at her, insulted. “I heard it from a very reliable source: my friend.” Genesis rolled her eyes, “Oh yes, that’s a real reliable source. Your “friend” was probably just trying to get you in trouble, waste your time on a wild goose chase. There really are better things for you to be doing with your time.” The faerie was now thoroughly frustrated with her, and the way she spoke to him.
“You seem pretty suspicious yourself…” he glared at her. Genesis locked up, she needed to defend her secret more then anything else right now, she needed to be less adamant about it to throw off his suspicions. “There is just no proof that there is anything special going on inside that city and I don’t think anyone could get up there anyhow to even look. Also if you look it up… scientifically, the city is so high up it’d be impossible to breathe up there because the air is so thin. No one would be able to inhabit the city. Its just impossible.” The last part was wrong, but she was certain this teen did not know any better to realize otherwise. The faerie sighed, “Well now what am I supposed to do… that was going to be my big adventure. “Why not read a book, the history of the Guardians is always fascinating to me.” Genesis suggested and then continued down the path with a wave goodbye.

Your Name: Antidia
Pae'il's Name: Alethea
Breed: Angel
Gender: female

Suggested Power: Pursuit of Justice: Alethea can activate a spell to make herself immune to immobilizations and it doubles her movement speed, including flight, running, and weapon swings. She also is able to cast this on one other Pae.
Weakness: This ability lasts for only a few minutes at a time, and her Ai (magic energy) must recharge at least an hour between uses
Weapon of Choice: Ranseur (polearm) which was forged specifically for Alethea. The blade was tempered in blood. She has named this weapon "Anguish".

Personality: Alethea is very sweet and mild-mannered. She's kind and giving, always giving people the benefit of the doubt. That is, unless it involves her beloved. When it comes to him, she is obsessed and possessive, viewing any of his friends as potential competition. She has a very violent streak because of this. She also has a tendency to be impatient when she wants something.
Merits:
  1. Kind: She'll give the sweater off her back to help someone in need.
  2. Strategic: she's good at detailing and carrying out plans of battle, plotting courses of actions and always thinking one step ahead of the enemy or target.
  3. Devoted: she is loyal and dedicated to those causes which touch her heart. She will never stray from an ideal she believes to be true, even dying to protect it.

Flaws:
  1. Obsessive Yandere: Once she's got her heart set on someone, she will become so obsessed with keeping him for herself that will become violent with any other pae that dares talk to her beloved. (Please note; she will only attempt to kill, she will never be successful, so please don't be afraid to RP with her. D: )
  2. Damsel in Distress: She likes to play the victim and will manipulate situations to her advantage by becoming the victim. Also, nothing is ever her fault.
  3. Excessive Curiosity: aka snoopy. She loves to know everyone's business, whether they want her to know it or not. She does not gossip, but uses the information for her own purposes. And yes, she does keep journals for the big stuff.

Likes: Taking care of others (specifically her boyfriend, if she has one, otherwise the less fortunate), candy, board games, Anguish (her ranseur), day dreaming, journaling, writing strategies, knowing everyone's business and cleaning
Dislikes: competition, messes, losing, having to get up at the buttcrack of dawn for physical training exercises, being called names, and waiting for anything, school because it feels like a waste of time because she knows the information already.

Fears: Afraid of being alone (in the relationship sense), of losing, of not being considered "good enough" for anything, and not making the cut to be a Holy Knight.
Goals: To get married, have two children and a loving husband. And to serve The Guardians as a Grand Herald. She wants to make Telrunya a happy and peaceful place to live, spread the gospel of the Guardians and rid the island of the blasphemers who seek to take control. (the ancients)
Character Behavior: Alethea will be sweet and kind to everyone she meets. She is a quiet girl, choosing to observe more than participate as this allows her a better vantage point for strategic problem solving. She's a devoted friend, and loyal follower. No one will ever know her dark side unless they cross her path by proving to be competition for a boy's affections. She wants nothing more than to spread joy and happiness on the island and she knows she can do this by serving in the Holy Army as a Grand Herald.

Brief History: Alethea does not remember how or when she came to Telrunya City. Her first memory is of waking up in a small white-stone room with minimal decor, a bed, a nightstand and one curtain over the small window. A small fairy was there to greet her as she got out of bed, and told her that this was her new home. Alethea does not remember who the pae were that birthed her, but she recognizes the fairies as her parents, because they loved her and protected her. She was not deprived of anything a normal pae child would have had, in fact, she had more. She had many fairies to care for her, always had others her own age to play with and received many important life lessons.

Questions:
  1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids?
I did. I can't think of any that didn't like me, so if they did, I don't know about it.
  2. What is your earliest memory?
Waking up in the castle for the first time and feeling alone, until I heard that tiny little voice welcome me to Telrunya City.
  3. Are you an optimistic or pessimistic?
    Optimistic.
  4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they?
This is an odd question to answer, because I don't think anything I do is annoying or quirky. Others tell me that I am too quiet. I suppose writing down what others say and do would be considered annoying, if they knew I did it. I like things to be color coded and arranged by color, too. Colors need to coordinate. I suppose that's a quirky mannerism.
  5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did?
Estella. She was the little fairie that would come in to my room to tuck me in at night. She'd sing to me and tell me fairytales of princesses of far off lands, and of them finding their Prince Charming. It became a dream of mine to someday find my prince charming too.
  6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do?
    Come between true love.
  7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Of course I do! I dream about it every night. I believe that there is someone for everyone. Two souls that belong together. It's so romantic!
  8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)?
Oh dear. No one else will read this, right? Oh boy...
I hide a lot. I dare not tell anyone what I really think of them.

  9. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I do not care for those faerie Pae'il. I am not sure who they think they are, but they prance around like they own the place. They're a sub-species, created for a job that they failed. I don't know why the Guardians continue to create them, but I do not question my beloved Guardians. They must have a reason.
Also, while I have never seen one face-to-face, and I hope to Light I never do, I do not care for those who call themselves "Ancients." They are not ancient anythings, more like 'abominations'. Half fish and half goat? seriously? That is not a noble and ancient Pae'il race. We are the pure bloods and Guardians' chosens.

  10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
I would never befriend an ancient. I couldn't imagine having to touch one of them or even share the same air. Makes me want to vomit.
I'm not sure there is much else I wouldn't do. I believe that given the proper circumstances, anyone will do anything they are told.

  11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
My Guardians. True Love. That's it.
  12. What do you do to unwind?
I like to daydream. I also like to sneak off to the market and indulge in the candies the fairies sell. Once in a while, I will indulge in a good fairytale story or board game, if I can find someone willing to play with me. There are days also where I will just lay on the grass outside of the castle walls, and look down upon Telrunya. I can imagine squishing those terrible fish Pae or goat Pae. Sometimes, I will spit or drop a pebble, just hoping it will land on one of them. I know we're not supposed to hate others, but I hate them, because they lie about the Guardians. I don't care if they are rehabilitated and join our cause or not. I think I would prefer them to not be with us, so I can have excuse to eradicate them.

"Now that you've become a Teen and are allowed out of the castle by yourself, what's the first thing you want to do? What's the first thing you actually do?"
The day finally came when the fairies gave us all permission to hit the island. We were only allowed a few hours, and it was mostly an educational thing, but it didn't matter. Everyone was excited and buzzing about finally mingling with the locals and seeing what life really was like down there on the primitive and savage island. It was going to be an awesome adventure.
The flight down -- our first in-flight descent over such a long distance -- was spectacular. The free-fall was such an experience like I could never have imagined. I have never felt as free as I did that day as I plummeted towards the island.
Our trainers had failed to give us the necessary information regarding free-falling. Okay, so Trainer Hania did tell us that we shouldn't actually let ourselves fall, but just descend in a spiral, gliding down to island. But he never said why. Maybe if I had known that my wings were not strong enough or developed enough to pull my body weight out of a fall, I wouldn't have done it.
My wings felt like they were going to dislocate and tear right out of my shoulders the harder I tried to regain control. I couldn't even spread them to brace myself for a softer blow. The ground was coming up faster and faster, and in a panic, I tried everything I could to slow my fall.
I failed to notice right away, unable to see through my panic, that the ground that was actually rapidly approaching wasn't actually ground, but water. The floating island had been above the lake at the time we descended.
It still hurts to land in water, having fallen hundreds of feet. Hurts like the dickens.
I swear it felt like I splattered against rocks when I hit the water. I was not armed with the knowledge of what to do when falling into water. Another point Trainer Hania failed to teach us. Every square inch of my body burned and radiated pain. I hit the water at such an angle that my left wing was crushed under my body as I plunged into the lake.
Pain, broken bones, broken wing, water-logged feathers and no air were too much to take, and last I remembered, everything went black.
    +++
I woke up in my dormitory room in the castle, unable to move. I was in a body cast and there were fairies buzzing about everywhere.
"What happened? How did I get here?"
"Miss, you fell to the island. You passed out. You've been asleep for days now," the little fairy said quietly as she fluffed my pillow. She looked sad and kept her eyes down.
    "What happened to me?"
"You are broken. In so many places," she said, even quieter.
I tried to flex my hand, but it hurt. I tried my foot, then my leg, then my right wing. Lots of pain. I tried my left wing, but I felt nothing. I tried again, and nothing. I couldn't feel movement or pain or anything. It was there still, I think. I tried to move to look, but the pain and cast stopped me.
    "What's wrong with my wings?"
The little fairy only bowed her head and zipped off. That didn't bode well.
"You!" I called to another fairy that had been opening my curtain, "what is wrong with my wings?"
"You lost one, Miss." he said. He finished his task and left without another word.
I don't know how long I just stared at the window where that little fairy had been.

[I'm gonna come back later to add the RP section, but I want to post it so everyone can oogle it. XD]

Your Name: Menelie
Pae'il's Name: Dante
Breed: angel
Gender: male

Suggested Power: It’s a bit of a lame power for a Holy Knight, but I like the idea that he can play any musical instrument he touches.
Weapon of Choice: A two-handed staff that he’s carved both ends of in swirling sun-themed designs.

Personality: Though polite and reserved on the surface, Dante's silence hides an eager heart. Sweet, kind, and earnest, he seeks to do the most good possible. Reading many storybooks during his youth has given him a bright-and-shiny outlook on life. He considers himself a romantic, though as of yet he's been too shy to actually approach any lovely ladies. To Dante, being a paladin isn't merely about defending the Guardians and battling the darkness, it is about bringing others to the same light and understanding he himself knows. He strives to live in a manner acceptable to the Guardians, and to genuinely "walk the talk".
• Merits: Kind-hearted; Dante genuinely wishes to do good in this world. Genuine; he does not hide his feelings or personality behind his mission or some kind of emotional wall. Idealistic; he has very high hopes for the fate of the world, and his optimism is unrelenting—he sees the best in everyone.
• Flaws: Closed-minded; Dante believes what he believes, and nothing anyone says/does will change his mind. Pacifist; he doesn’t really care for killing living beings--this is why his weapon of choice is fairly non-lethal. Obsessive; once he gets involved in a cause or a subject, he will pursue it until every possible angle or corner is explored.

Likes: Music, learning about history, dancing, sparring with his staff (to keep in shape and good form), pretty ladies, woodworking
Dislikes: Pae who are unnecessarily mean or cruel, Pae who change their minds whenever presented with conflicting information, needless bloodshed (well, bloodshed in general…), feeling helpless/frustrated.

Fears: He fears that he will be mute forever. He fears that whatever is seeping the Guardians’ power will eventually take over Telrunya and darkness will reign. He avoids wide-open spaces, as they offer dizzying possibilities.
Goals: Dante seeks to use his power and status as a Holy Knight to drive darkness and evil from the world, especially the new evil power draining the power from the Guardians. He seeks to see the Guardians returned to their former power and glory, and to restore peace and harmony to Telrunya.

Character Behavior: Dante is a mute, and has been since birth. He believes that the Guardians are punishing him for the sins either of the past, or of his parents, or from a past life. He seeks to atone for these sins, whatever they are, by doing good for others. He is a pacifist, though like all the other Holy Knights he knows how to fight. Dante tends to keep to himself for these reasons—most of the other Holy Knights tend toward the unnecessarily zealous, and he has a difficult time communicating. He spends most of his time reading, or playing a wooden flute, or watching the townsfolk of Telrunya City go about their daily business. They remind him just exactly what’s at stake in the obviously coming war against evil and darkness.

Brief History: Growing up, Dante was a well-mannered child who kept mostly to himself. He learned to read and write early, and spent most of his time in the library or in the chapel. He performed well enough at fighting, but he didn't throw quite as much of his heart into it as some of his fellows. He always knew he was different, seeing the families in the outer bailey, children with parents...Dante always wondered if he'd had parents at one point. Perhaps they'd been unfit, or had committed an act against the Guardians. At any rate, sometimes the fairies who raised the chosen 14 didn't have enough time to devote to all of them, and so Dante sought other mentors. He sometimes felt lost, alone in the world, but he always knew the Guardians were looking after him.

Questions: (answer in-character please)
1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids? Not particularly; I feel they didn’t understand me.
2. What is your earliest memory? I can’t put my finger on my earliest memory, but my most treasured childhood memory is when Asatira gave me my first book.
3. Are you an optimistic or pessimistic? Optimistic. The world is a place of honor and dignity—there are those who seek to destroy it, which is why I am a Holy Knight.
4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they? My fellow Holy Knights would say it’s my inability to speak, but I don’t believe that counts. I do tend to whistle wherever I go, and I’ve been told my gaze is eerie.
5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? Professor Asatira. He has taught me so much about the real history of Telrunya, and what it is that we must protect. His library always provided me with a safe space to recuperate from fighting or the exhausting task of learning magic. He taught me the importance of knowledge, and how wars have been won merely by knowing more than the other side. I feel that knowledge of the past will be key in winning this war against darkness.
6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do? Kill or harm without reason. It is precisely this kind of darkness I would eradicate completely from the world.
7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? Of course! I don’t have my eyes set on anyone at the moment, but I know the Guardians have someone special planned for me. It gives me great joy knowing that I will be that someone special for someone else.
8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings? I aim to be an open book. Honesty is the best work a paladin can do in himself. That said, if nobody asks me my thoughts, generally I will not give them.
9. Do you have any biases or prejudices? I am unshakeable in my scruples. I know that what I do is good and right. That said, my faith is a thinking faith. I do not agree with the blind, unreasoning zeal of some of my fellow paladins.
10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? I refuse to harm an innocent. To do so would be an utter and unforgiveable violation of everything the Guardians stand for.
11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? I would die for my soul mate. I would die for the cause of peace and goodness reigning in the world.
12. What do you do to unwind? I read. My favorite tales are those of adventure and intrigue. I find a spot to be alone and work on a new instrument. I sometimes write music.

You see a Faun for the first time. Before this moment, you'd only ever been taught about them. What do you do? Do you talk to him? Do you shun him? Do you try to teach him about the Guardians? Can the Faun be "saved"?

Dante was lying on his stomach on a low tree branch, softly playing a flute of his own making. He was seeing how it played, or if he needed to do more work to it. He heard someone approach and stopped playing. It was a strange figure, definitely not an angel or demon. Probably not a fae, either. Could it be one of the strange breeds he'd learned about from his history books? He narrowed his eyes, trying to focus and get a better look. What in the Guardian's name...? The strange creature had trees sprouting from its head! And...hooves, like some kind of animal!
Motionless, Dante continued to watch the creature, which he seemed to remember being called a faun (again, like some kind of animal), as he passed by. Funny, he mused to himself, he remembered learning about them being taller. Perhaps they weren't as dangerous or exciting as the books made it seem.
"Hey mister!" came a voice from below. "Watcha doin' up in that tree?"
Oh rats. He'd been spotted. Dante pretended not to notice the faun.
"Hey, mister!" exclaimed the faun again. "I'm lookin' for my sister, haveya seener?"
Dante blinked rapidly and shook his head. He peered curiously at the faun. From his manner of speech, he seemed to be....a child.
The little faun boy sighed and looked dejected. "We were playin' hide-an-go-seek, and she's a really good hider, an' I lost her, an' now it's gettin' dark...Will you help me find 'er?"
Dante's heartstrings were...tugged. He jumped down from the branch. Perhaps he could help the little one.
...
As Dante helped the faun child, whose name he discovered was Peliot, among with several other things he really hadn't needed to know about the talkative boy, he realized that these creatures weren't evil or dangerous. They, like the boy's sister (Jeriah--other things he'd learned from Peliot), were merely lost. With the proper light, they could be led back to the warmth and love of the Guardians.

Your Name: The Poison Arrow
Pae'il's Name: Infernos
Breed: (demon or angel) Demon
Gender: Male

Suggested Power: None on his own, wielder of Shroud Breaker ( See weapon)
Weapon of Choice: Shroud Breaker: Given to Infernos by the Guardians as a manifestation of his soul, Shroud Breaker has become Infernos' greatest ally. The weapon is formed in the shape of a maul ( large, long handled hammer) and has sentience, enabling him to speak to his wielder. Shroud Breaker got his name though from his ability to glow brightly. This light peels away the deceit before it. Liars find themselves speaking the truth, illusions are cast aside, hidden and invisible things are revealed.

Personality: Very stern and serious, Infernos isn't a very lighthearted fellow. Dedicated to the Guardians and their beliefs, Infernos puts duty above all.
Merits: Honorable: As much as it gets in the way of his duty at times, Infernos has been raised to hold honor in high regard.
Protective: Infernos will put others before himself in times of trouble, especially those that have managed to form some sort of bond to him.
Dedicated: He will not be swayed. The Guardians are his creators and he is their servant. If push comes to shove, he would probably break his code of honor for them. He attempts to implement this same dedication into any task he is given.
Flaws: Guarded: Infernos has felt that his life is meant for the Guardians, and therefore has not taken the time to indulge in feelings. He keeps his emotions locked up in a box, in a vault, buried, under the sea, in another vault. There is how ever one emotion he cannot contain.
Anger: Not so much a flaw, just something he believes is an issue. Infernos can maintain control over most of his emotions except this one.
Untrusting: Being the wielder of Shroud Breaker, Infernos has learned one valuable lesson... everyone lies. This has caused him to distrust everyone until they prove themselves.

Likes: Shroud Breaker, Training, His trainer, Guardians, Smiting wrong-doers, Protecting others, Proving his worth, Karma, Pecan pie, Children
Dislikes: Ancients, Taint, Cowardice, Injustice, Darkness
Fears: Failing in his duty, hurting the innocent,
Goals: To protect the way of the Guardians, to fight off the Ancients
Character Behavior: Infernos is a shielded figure, he doesn't display a broad array of emotions. In situations where someone might get angry or happy/excited, he remains calm and collective.

Brief History: Infernos was found as a crying child in a burned out shell of a home. With his parents missing or possibly dead, the fairy that came to discuss Infernos' future took the child demon back to Telrunya castle to be raised. Infernos isolated himself as a child, opting to not socialize and instead train heavily. He considered his fellow blood pae'il brothers and sisters still, and his trainer like a father figure.

Questions: (answer in-character please)
While growing up, did you get along with the other kids?
No, they didn't mature fast enough. It felt like games to them, being a Knight is not a game.
What is your earliest memory?
Darkness, hunger and loneliness. I do not remember what happened to my home or parents.
Are you an optimistic or pessimistic?
All is possible if you do so in the name of the Guardians
Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they?
I know I can get annoyed or angered, although this can serve me well in battle, it is not becoming of a Knight.
Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? (You can make up the fairy)
Master Hania. He is what I aspire to become. He has trained me well and I intend to never disappoint him.
In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do?
Lie ( That's all he says )
Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?
Believe it exists? I've never witnessed it. Believe in it? No

Completely, anything else would be lying. I may be blunt, but at least I'm honest.
Do you have any biases or prejudices?
The abominations you might call Ancients. Although is it really a bias if they are meant to be removed?
Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it?
Lie, unless the Guardians asked me to. But I have faith that they would not ask such of me, it's beneath them.
Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)?
* Infernos kneels on one knee, head bowed, holding Shroud Breaker before him*
I give my body, flesh and bone,
And every drop of blood,

For I will not know fear,
While in the Guardian's light,
I am an avenger, for Telrunya,
I am a Holy Knight.

What do you do to unwind?
I train, what is unwind?

Pick ONE of these prompts to respond to: (please limit responses to 1000 words or less)

"So you're off from training for the day. What exactly are you up to, why are you doing it, and who are you doing it with?"

Infernos would never argue or disobey an order from Master Hania, but forced to have the day off? Infernos couldn't understand, he'd been training for most of his life. Just because he had pushed himself too far and injured his hands. Infernos had done worse, been scolded for it too, but actually ordered to not train?

It was hard to think of how to spend his time until he could start again. Walking through the halls of the castle killed a bit of time, but he felt without use, with no purpose. Distracted, Infernos failed to notice the fairy carrying a large stack of books on the same path he was travelling.

. o O (Infernos, look out!)

"Who?.."

Shroud Breaker, noticing a little too late, attempted to warn Infernos of the incoming accident on wings. Books scattered everywhere with a small " eep!" as the fairy crashed to the ground. Infernos although startled by the incident, immediately kneeled to help the smaller being to her feet and began gathering her books.

. o O (Sorry friend, I failed to notice)

. o O (The fault is my own, I was distracted by selfish thoughts)

" I apologize miss, I hope you are unharmed?"

The fairy dusted herself down, checking herself once over for scrapes and bruises, and satisfied she was not hurt, looked up and gave a smile to the young demon.

" Oh I seem to be fine, I'm so sorry I bumped into you, I have so many books that I..."

It was then that she noticed Infernos' bandaged hands and felt a twinge of guilt. She shouldn't had been carrying so many book, it was just a long trip and the stack was so high she couldn't see. The fairy went to stop Infernos, but was halted by him.

" I see your worry, and although I see it as an act of kindness, it isn't necessary. The injuries are minor but my hands still function. And I would ask a selfish request, that you allow me to help you carry these books to your destination, so that I have a minor purpose until I'm needed again"

The fairy was in a bit of a shock at the statement, it was a lot to drink in. It just seemed he wanted to help her and who was she to say no to that? Her worried face beamed once more as she fluttered off the ground and hovered beside him.

"Sure!, I'm headed this way. Thank you very much... mister?"

"Infernos,... just Infernos"

Your Name: Teigra
Pae'il's Name: Lailah
Breed: Angel
Gender: Female

Suggested Power: Light Grenade - Lailah is able to draw the light from an area and collect it in an orb in her hands. She then has three minutes to either get rid of the orb to keep the area in a state of temporary darkness, or she can throw the orb which will act like a flash grenade to temporarily blind anyone caught in the blast.
Weaknesses - If she holds the orb longer than three minutes, it will begin to burn her. Any jostling or bumping of the orb will cause it to explode (a la flash grenade), so if she decides to get rid of it in any other way, she has to carefully set it somewhere and hide it. In time, the hidden orb will dissipate on its own and the light will return to the area.
Weapon of Choice: Dual curved fighting blades

Personality: Every thing she does, she does for the Guardians. She feels no particular draw towards her own Pae'il companions, nor any real bond with them. Honestly, if the Guardians ordered her to turn on them, she'd slit the nearest one's throat without hesitation, before they even heard her unsheath her blade. She only desires the favor of her beloved masters, seeking to please them in order to earn just a bit more of their attention and recognition as their most devoted follower and servant.

Aside from the moral code that they've been taught, passed down from the Guardians themselves, she seems to have no particular set of rules of her own that she follows. She has no reservations about violence, no fondness for silly concepts like mercy and compassion, as they only make one weak and set one up for disaster. Considering some of the other potential Knights, she figures that someone has to be the one to handle the 'dirty work' that will obviously need to be done; why not her?

  • Merits:
    1. Devoted - Lailah's devotion is more than mere attachment. It is not easily earned, and likely no one will do so other than her beloved Guardians, but it is not easily damaged either. She would follow the object of her devotion to the ends of the world without question, as well as performing any task she is asked, and even some she is not, if she believes that it would please her Guardians in the end.
    2. Independent - While she has grown up surrounded by others, constantly being trained and taught, prepared for her greater role, she feels no particular dependence on these others, whether fairy or Pae. She prefers to do things for herself and not to rely on anyone else for anything, lest she end up in a situation one day and must rely only upon herself to get out of it.
    3. Reliable - Due to her perfectionist nature, when Lailah commits to a task, she gives it all she has until she has completed her mission, no matter how great or small. No matter what it takes, she will complete her objective, even if sacrifices are required.

  • Flaws:
    1. Perfectionist - Lailah strives for perfection in all that she does, whether in her training, studies, or in her future missions. Even if she is lacking in some areas more than others, such as her history and magic lectures, her faults drive her harder to persue perfection. Failure is not an option. Especially not when the Guardians are involved. It has not yet occurred to her that it might not be possible to be perfect, no matter how hard she tries, not even in the Guardians' eyes. She does not deal well with stumbles along the way and she refuses to entertain the possibility that she is fallable. Denial is much easier; when under stress, she can sometimes lean more to the side of obsessive-compulsive behavior, enough so that it affects her actions as a coping mechanism.
    2. Sadist - Fascinated from a young age by the concept of life and death, Lailah slipped down a dark path. In her 'experiments' with the mysteries of death and the moments before it takes hold of a living thing, she discovered a dark pleasure in watching the suffering of others, as well as the ways that they fought or accepted the concept of their inevitable demise. Sad to say, the fairies had to deal with many small animals found on the grounds over the course of the future Knights' training.
    3. Short-Tempered - When things do not go her way, and the possibility that she may not in fact be as 'perfect' as she aims to be, Lailah's temper flares up like a righteous flame. Slight offenses against the Guardians can also provoke a similar response, and when her anger flares, violence is soon to follow.

Likes: The adrenaline rush of battle; the grace of a perfectly trained fighter; the coppery scent of blood
Dislikes: Wishy-washy Pae who can't make up their minds, even if that decision is wrong, at least stick with it; history lessons; crickets

Fears: Confined spaces; failure; her own flaws, or at least those that she perceives as flaws
Goals: To be perfect for her beloved Guardians and to be loved as their most obedient servant; to cleanse the Isle of the tainted 'abominations' who dare call themselves 'Ancients' and band together against the Guardians and the Light
Character Behavior: Lailah tends to keep to herself, in that she won't seek out others without a particular purpose, but if they approach her instead, she will tolerate their prescence, as long as they don't become obnoxious. She spends much of her time training, both with weapons and in hand-to-hand combat, as these skills come much more naturally to her than do such things as history and rhetoric lessons. She doesn't like focusing on things that she can't do well. She can be a bit unnerving to spend much time around, due to her fascination with mortality and her continuing studies on the matter, despite the discouragement from the fairies. However, if the other has a strong stomach, and shows interest, they may find themselves entertaining questions on the matter and their opinions on the best methods to torture 'heathens' in a last-ditch effort to turn them to the light.

Brief History: With few memories before she was taken at a young age by the fairies to Telrunya City, Lailah has known little but her life in the sky. She's always had the best of care at the hands of the fairies, creature comforts in the luxurious castle, devoted caretakers always on-hand for her every need. And yet, she doesn't necessarily enjoy such things, taking them in stride, but with a casual air of indifference. Yes, of course she's entitled to such things, but at the same time, she never let herself grow reliant upon them. Early on, she'd been told that she was there to become something special. Something important. The life-giving Guardians had blessed her more than most and wanted HER to become one of their champions! Well, she wasn't about to let them down, and she needed to be prepared to face anything. Somehow, she doubted that such important work would always allow her to laze about and enjoy such comforts, so best not to grow dependent on them. she spent as much of her time as possible sparring with Grand Champion Hania as soon as they were allowed to begin combat training. She did what she needed for her other lessons, but all of her extra energy and effort outside of normal lessons went into her fighting skills.

Questions: (answer in-character please)
  1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids? - I suppose so. I didn't get into too many fights or anything. They were just sorta' 'there' most of the time. I didn't exactly seek them out to go 'play' or whatever it is kids do. I'd rather sit back and observe, but once or twice, I ended up in a scuffle with one of the others before the fairies stepped in to break it up. I wasn't about to let some smart remark go unpunished, of course.
  2. What is your earliest memory? - I don't remember learning to worship the Guardians; it's just always been there. So the earliest memory I can recall would be the day I tried to lecture the birds in the garden on the proper way to sing praises to our Guardians. They were doing it all wrong, you know. I told them so. And I was only trying to help them, but they just wouldn't listen, the stubborn, ignorant things. Archmage Tansa gave me a lecture when she found me with one of the little beasts I'd managed to catch before the rest had flown away. It hadn't survived the re-education process, and she seemed upset at this. I told her that I was only instructing the heathen birds on the proper way to sing the Guardians' praises and they'd rebelled against my enlightening instructions. So, further measures had been necessary. She had frowned at this and explained that the birds are only poor dumb animals and aren't as advanced as we are. They can't understand the concept of proper worship and praise; it's beyond them and we can't hold them at fault for their short-comings. what a shame. Poor things are doomed to remain ignorant. I'm sure that when we deal with the heathens and cleanse the Isle, that something can be done to 'fix' these dumb creatures as well.
  3. Are you an optimistic or pessimistic? - Well, of course I'm an optimist. How else are you going to perfect yourself if you don't believe that you can?
  4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they? - Of course not. And if the others say I do, then they're lying. I mean...counting is not annoying. How is counting things annoying? Even numbers bring balance...especially fours. Fours are a nice, stable, soothing number. And balance is a sign of one growing closer to perfection, don't you think? Especially when things aren't going well...not that they wouldn't go well, of course. Why would you say that? It's just, if something did go badly, well, you probably didn't do something well enough. That's it. So, if you did it again, maybe things would work better. You could do it three more times though, just to be sure. Probably best.
  5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? (You can make up the fairy) - Grand Champion Hania, of course! He helped me to unlock my potential, training and honing my skills as a fighter, to better become a weapon to be weilded against the heathen darkness. Of course, we were taught to try and handle problems non-violently first, but that doesn't always work. And I'm not sure the others have what it takes to handle the dirty work, you know? Someone's gotta' be willing to do what needs to be done, and I have Grand Champion Hania to thank for helping me prepare myself to do whatever is necessary.
  6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do? - Nothing (as in refusing to make a choice), though it's hard to just do nothing, when doing nothing is doing something, isn't it?
  7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? - The only true love is mine for my dear Guardians. All others who claim anything similar are liars.
  8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? - Eh, most of the time. I guess it wouldn't be a good idea to let the others know that I think they make better tools than companions, would it? Archmage Tansa told me that once, when I was younger. She said I needed to treat the others as equals and friends, that we were to be colleagues and brothers and sisters in arms, fighting for the greater good. That's true, but can't I do that without getting all emotional about it? Aside from that, I'm pretty open with my feelings on a particular situation or towards other beings.
  9. Do you have any biases or prejudices? - Only against those who would defy our great masters. Fools; they will all get what's coming to them in the end if they do not see the error of their ways and embrace the Light...if they are even capable of doing so.
  10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? - Like I said before, someone has to take the tasks that others will not. Anything my Guardians ask, I will do. If I think that they will be pleased by my actions, I will take them. The only thing I'd refuse to do would be to forsake my masters, and obviously they would never order me to do so.
  11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? - Why, the Guardians, of course. They have granted life, it is theirs to take away. However, if I'm going to give up my life, you can bet I'm going to bring a few others with me. [She grins wickedly.]
  12. What do you do to unwind?
- Unwind? [She looks puzzled at first.] The fairies took my butterfly wing collection away... [She pouts for a moment, then looks around furtively before continuing.] Course, that was only the first one.[She grins.]

Pick ONE of these prompts to respond to: (please limit responses to 1000 words or less)

Free-form: Write a monologue or solo, describe anything you'd like to about what your pae may encounter, or has experienced, or how he or she feels about anything.

Slash! Slash slash! Block, parry, thrust, then slash!

The flurry of blows and combos continued, a deadly rhythm in the otherwise silent training yard. The lean angel bounced and maneuvered, closing in to attack, then retreating to a safe distance before throwing another, different combo at the training dummy. The dusty sackcloth was tattered and worn, now bearing fresh, clean slashes on its battleworn frame. This one wouldn't last much longer, that was certain.

Her mind was locked in attack mode, focused only on the target before her and its inevitable destruction. The voices of her instructors, not just those of fighting, but magic, history, healing, and knightly behavior, echoed in her head as she drilled herself on combos and maneuvers.

There are those who have fallen from the Light...

Her face creased with a frown, not of concentration, but of distraction. No, shake it off. Focus.

...they have forgotten the truth. Lost their way...

Sweat beaded and dripped down her face as she pushed her exercises further; faster, more furious.

...though some would seek to destroy them altogether...

A vicious snarl ripped from the angel's lips, and she went at the target like a being possessed, red touching the edges of her vision. Dirty beasts! Savages! Monsters! They must be stopped...at any cost!
She pushed herself harder and harder, the images in her mind formed of what she believed these heathen monsters to be, imagining their dark purpose. She could not let such evil exist in the world. Their plans must not come to fruition! She would be the weapon of the Guardians, weilded against the darkness, bringing a stop to the lies and deception that spread to aid their purpose.

Surely she could prove her worth to the Guardians; she was invaluable to their cause. And it was a righteous cause indeed! They would unite the Isle in their light, and she would be rewarded as their most loyal, devoted servant. The thought made Lailah smile, but considering her continuing drills, it was a grim expression that crossed her face.

Her limbs were beginning to tire and her breathing was heavy, signaling that one way or another, her exercise would end soon. When her strike faltered, her grip sweaty and slipping from her blade, she let out a curse as the razor sharp edge sliced the side of her palm before clattering to the ground.

"Guardians' breath!" she hissed, immediately raising the wound to her lips. It wasn't much of an incident; more of a surprise than painful, but she was more upset that her lack of concentration had caused the trouble. The coppery taste of blood touched her tongue for only a moment, then was gone. Yet, she froze that way, closing her eyes and forcing her breathing to slow and her muscles to relax. She'd lost her temper again. She really was trying to work on that, but progress was slow at best.

"I wonder if you push yourself too hard sometimes, my child. A rest now and again will do wonders in the long run."

She turned to face the voice, her eyes alighting on her combat trainer. "Grand Champion Hania," she greeted immediately with a slight bow. "I was just finishing my drills for the day..."

"Of course," the fairy nodded with a knowing look in his eye. "Just remember to balance your drills between offensive and defensive techniques. Only knowing one and neglecting the other will lead you to disaster. A true master is a master of both skillsets."

"Yes, sir," she responded obediently, bowing her head again. She knew the teachings well by this point, but subconsciously, she didn't seem to have completely adopted the concept in practice. Her drills were primarily offensively-based, with only the minimal effort spent on defensive techniques.

The fairy considered her for a moment, then offered, "Well, your skills are much improved." The angel flushed slightly, pleased by the praise, but offering no other sign of her acknowledgement. "A shame you've finished your routine already. I had a proposition for you, but it seems that I'm too late..."

"What is it?" the angel blurted, curiosity taking the place of decorum. Luckily, the fairy only chuckled at her enthusiastic response, before she fell quiet again.

"Perhaps you might be interested in a sparring match? It has been a while...I thought perhaps you'd like to test your skills. However, it wouldn't be fair to take advantage of your weariness." He raised a hand before she could object or protest that she was fine, or other such nonsense. "No, no. If you are interested, however, I propose that you get some food and drink, a short rest to recover, and we meet here again later. Would that be an acceptable proposition?"

"Yes, Grand Champion, sir!"

The fairy smirked, crossing his arms over his chest with a nod. "Very well then. Go now and prepare, and we shall meet again this evening." He watched the angel bow and back away, quickly picking up speed as she retreated from the training area. His expression faded only slightly, amusement giving way to contemplative thought.

Lailah, on the other hand, grinned with eager delight, no more thinking about the food nor rest that she was to receive, but her thoughts only on the proposed sparring match ahead. A chance to test her skills against the master! It was a rare occurrence and she wasn't going to let it slip through her fingers. Oh no, she would give it her all, show them all that she was a worthy warrior, a righteous blade for the light, and a force for the darkness itself to fear...

Your Name: Teigra
Pae'il's Name: Eligor
Breed: Demon
Gender: Male

Suggested Power: Summon Holy Beast - summons a creature made of holy light to fight for him; being made of holy light, it may also burn the 'unholy' (AKA: anyone not aligned with the Guardians and the Light)
Weaknesses - The creature's shape is determined by whichever Guardian he most closely identifies himself with, and he cannot choose its shape consciously. He can only summon the one creature, and any attacks that manage to be inflicted upon it, he feels the same pain.
Weapon of Choice: Magical staff

Personality: Calm and stoic, Eligor does not allow himself to give in to his emotions. He remains collected, even when provoked, and prefers to reason things out rather than blow off the handle. He seeks to further his magical studies whenever possible, as he privately pursues his dream of becoming a great mystical master. This still comes secondary to his duties for the Guardians, but as long as he can pursue both at the same time, then what's the harm?

  • Merits:
    1. Diligent - Eligor throws himself into his training and his research. He's not one for slacking or lazing about, and any tasks set before him will take priority over his personal desires.
    2. Studious - Eligor is a quick learner, but he never stops reaching or assumes that he knows enough. The pursuit of knowledge is a lifelong quest, and he will never rest until he is forced to by death.
    3. Cautious - Not one to take risks unnecessarily, Eligor weighs all of his options before taking action. He would never put himself at risk, or his companions, without reason. Best to be safe and live to fight another day, rather than throw your life away for nothing.

  • Flaws:
    1. Indecisive - In times of crisis, Eligor's caution could be taken as a liability. He weighs every option before making a decision, but unfortunately, that sometimes only makes the decision harder to make. He takes so much time in deciding, that sometimes precious time is lost.
    2. Distant - More interested in books and his magic studies than in socializing, Eligor has always had problems connecting to the others on a personal level. He keeps his distance from them for the most part, which is sometimes misinterpretted as being anti-social, but in reality, he sometimes just gets so tied up in his studies, he forgets how to communicate with others. Other times, he views them as a distraction from some important work, and consciously distances himself from them in order to concentrate on his work.
    3. Arrogant - His expansive book knowledge and magical skills have given Eligor a sense of entitlement. He sees himself above his peers, as he is the more serious, more studious one, and therefore most deserving of the lot.

Likes: Hot tea, especially a nice earl grey; quiet afternoons; old library books, especially magical tomes; cherry scones
Dislikes: Loud, raucous Pae; uncivilized behavior; rash decisions; physical contact, especially of the violent sort

Fears: Spiders; library fires (oh, those poor books); any possible loss of his magical blessings.
Goals: To persue his studies of the arcane arts in hope of perfecting his magical conjuring skills; to hurry up and take care of this dreadful 'heathen' business, so that when all worship the Guardians faithfully, he can settle down and build his own library of magical knowledge somewhere that also has a nice supply of tea.
Character Behavior: For the most part, Eligor keeps to himself and can be found with a book, either reading, or practicing some new spell he's found. While he does not seek them out, if approached by the others, he is welcoming enough, as long as they don't interrupt him in the middle of casting some new spell. As a seeker of knowledge, he is always happy to share what he has learned with anyone who expresses interest, or to aid another in their own studies.

Brief History: Eligor's parents were devout, Guardian-fearing demons, and when the fairies came and identified their newborn son as being one of the chosen, marked by the Guardians, they were honored to offer him to the fairies for training. He's not seen them since then, and he doesn't have any memories of them, as he was too young at the time. At first, he was displeased with being lumped together with the other children, as they all behaved far too roughly and crudely for his tastes. However, after the fairies had time to observe them and begin to understand their personal preferences, they introduced him to the library and its vast trove of knowledge. It was love at first sight. Since then, Eligor has taken advantage of this valuable resource as much as possible, between their lessons with the fairy trainers.

Questions: (answer in-character please)
  1. While growing up, did you get along with the other kids? - Yes and no. As long as they left me alone and out of their rough, childish games, we got along well enough, I suppose. I had no interest in rolling about in the dirt.
  2. What is your earliest memory? - Well, my earliest, favorite memory...after I'd been introduced to the other children and the fairies had observed us for a while, they noticed I prefered the quiet over the loudness of the others. One of them took me aside and asked if I'd like to go somewhere else for a while. I figured it had to be better than that place, whatever sort of place it might be, so I said yes. They showed me the library and immediately I began browsing the shelves. I found a book on Beginner's Charms. The pages were old, but the smell...ah, I'll never forget the smell or texture of those pages, nor the introductory wisdom within.
  3. Are you an optimistic or pessimistic? - Depends on the situation. I try to be optimistic, but in some cases, you just have to be realistic; you can't lie and just...make things better.
  4. Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they? - Annoying? I don't think so. I mean, I take tea in the afternoon without fail...one must keep to a schedule, you know. And habits? Well, the only thing I can think I might do that some might find annoying is my intense displeasure at being disrupted in the midst of trying some new magic. It's annoying to be interrupted like that, and one has a right to be upset. But if I'm trying something that could have dire results if I'm mistaken, well...it's in both mine and the other person's interest that I not be distracted, so if it takes a little rudeness to get that point across, I think it's justified, don't you?
  5. Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? (You can make up the fairy) - Archmage Tansa, easily. She's been a wonderful teacher, a wealth of knowledge, and a powerful mage. I've learned much from her and thanks to her guidance, I've set out on my own personal journey on the path of the mage.
  6. In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do? - Burning books. [He glares at the wall intently.] Once that knowledge is lost, it can never be replaced. It's a treasure, destroyed. What a horrible, disgraceful act.
  7. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? - Well, I can't say that the phenomenon has been documented, though the side effects of such a thing can sometimes be considered evident. Perhaps it's the same as magic. Magic itself cannot be seen or touched or documented, but we see it in the effects that it has from our spells and our evokings, altering and affecting the world around us. This is how we know it exists. Perhaps, in that light, then soul mates and true love may exist in the same manner.
  8. How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings (i.e. do you hide your true self from others, and in what way)? -
  9. Do you have any biases or prejudices? - Ugh, ruffians and the uncouth. Seriously, does it take that much effort to act civilized? Those damnable heathens are the worst. Calling themselves 'Ancients' and cavorting about in the wilderness like wild things. Ugh.
  10. Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? - Anything that might hinder the quest for knowledge, either for myself or others.
  11. Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? - I'm not sure anyone can really answer this question accurately without having experienced this sort of situation...and that's not to guarantee that one would be able to answer the question if they HAD. Hmm...I'd only be guessing really, and that's not reliable or accurate, but if you really want me to, I can try. I do have a duty to do, so...I suppose, if my orders from the Guardians led to such a response, I might. Probably. I mean, nothing against the Guardians, of course. It's just such a permanent decision, and if something were to go wrong, well, I wouldn't be much good to them anymore. If there was something still that I needed to do, well, it would take some serious consideration.
  12. What do you do to unwind? - Ah, a quiet evening, sitting outside, listening to the crickets and sipping a cup of tea. How serene. Of course, a good cup of tea any time of the day does wonders.

Pick ONE of these prompts to respond to: (please limit responses to 1000 words or less)

"Your training has to be kept a secret from all pae'il. On your first outing to see the rest of the island, you meet another Teen Pae. Its a Faerie Pae and he starts talking about a some top-secret activity going on in the now-closed Telrunya City. How do you dispel those rumors?"

Eligor emerged from the teleport pad, glanced around the area, and paused as he sensed the magic of the teleporter being shut off from the other side. The fairies would re-open it later so that he could return to the City, but for now, he was out for his first outing to the Isle. He was eager to explore, but also wary. He was a cautious individual, not a fool. He started with the area around the telepad, investigating the local flora, identifying a few that he'd seen in alchemic textbooks, but never in real life.

The sun had moved a few degrees in the sky by the time Eligor's investigations turned to the surrounding area. The forest seemed serene, if not actually quiet. He could hear signs of various animals about, even if he couldn't see them. He was careful, prepared for any trouble, even if the locals were likely harmless. Speaking of locals, however...

There was a foreign sort of sound off to Eli's left, like an animal that didn't quite belong in the area. Clumsy, plodding footsteps...the snap of a twig... Staff in hand, Eli turned to greet whatever was coming his way, readying a quick evoking spell for protection if needed.

It wasn't.

He eyed the Fae teen that emerged from the trees curiously, having never seen one in person before.

The teen looked up and blinked at the demon, then smiled warmly, raising an arm in greeting. "Well met, friend! Hey, have you noticed anything...unusual...going on out here today?"

Eli paused, returning the gesture, but only with his arm, not his expression, which was set stoically neutral. "Unusual? What exactly do you mean by unusual?" He was on guard, if for no other reason than he was always on guard in new situations.

The teen male shrugged, gesturing up briefly towards the trees overhead. "I dunno. I could have sworn I saw lights and stuff earlier through the canopy, and I've heard rumors that something might be going on up in the floating City. You heard anything, or seen anything out here today? Maybe the fairies are up to something," he muttered, voicing aloud his train of thought as it wandered.

Eli frowned slightly, thinking fast. This was bad; he knew that the goings-on in the City were supposed to remain secret, and that no one here could know that he had come from there only earlier today. No, he had to dissuade this Pae's curiosity, but at the same time, how to do so? "No, I haven't seen or heard anything like that," he started, shaking his head as in genuine confusion, then a look of realization crossed his face. It would seem as if he'd come to a realization regarding what the teen had seen, but really, he'd just come up with a way to diffuse the situation while steering the fae in a different direction.

"Oh wait, you said you saw lights, right?" He waited for the Fae to nod. He seemed enthusiastic, expecting this demon to justify the strange things that he had seen with some fantastic tale. No such luck, or at least, likely not what he'd been expecting. "Oh, yeah...sorry, that was probably me." Eli completed the look by putting on a sheepish grin and reaching up to rub the back of his neck. "See, I was sorta' practicing and my power is light-based, so... Err, I could just show you if that'd help?"

The Fae stared, then seemed a bit disappointed at first, then forced a smile and a shrug instead. "Really? Shame; thought something cool might have been going on up there. Yeah, so...what is it that you do, anyway?"

Convinced that he had the teen's attention, Eli smiled. "I'll show you." He closed his eyes in concentration, then focusing his thoughts, steered them towards making the summoning process as flashy and elaborate as possible. Better to explain and to impress the Fae in his distraction plan. Light gathered around the demon, growing brighter and brighter, before drawing away from him to hover at his side, intensifying all the while...

In a few moments, a feline-creature made of light, larger than an average housecat, but still smaller than any wild cat, stretched and straightened at the demon's side. Smirking at the Fae's slack-jawed stare, the demon casually commented, "Meet my companion. My familiar."

Your Name: Mizu_Taji
Pae'il's Name: Clarux
Breed: Demon
Gender: Female

Suggested Power: Seraph's Flame - Clarux has the ability to catch her weapon or some part of her person on fire. While it does not harm her to touch it, it can leave a horrible burn on others if it makes contact with their flesh.
Weapon of Choice: A spear

Personality: Clarux is usually a very calm and serious demon pae. She is very devout to the Guardians, and therefore very protective of her knightly kin. She however is more of a 'stab opposers of the Guardians in the face' then a 'convert them to the Guardians cause' as she really doesn't have a way with words per say. Still, she always seems to get her point across. Get it? Spear? Point? Eh? Eh? Oh nevermind...

  • Merits: 1. Modest Clarux is not one to boast about her abilities or her standing as a possible holy knight.
    2. Adaptable Clarux can handle changes in plans very well, and does not hesitate to change her strategy if something isn't going the way it was supposed to
3 Hard to Anger Clarux is very level-headed and it is hard to truly anger her. She is not one to fly off the handle
  • Flaws: 1. Unforgiving While hard to anger, once you do, Clarux will NEVER forgive you, accident or not.
    2. Merciless She has no mercy in fights against what has been deemed a foe. Unless specifically ordered not to, she isn't above crippling, maiming, or torturing an enemy she has been placed against, and even if she's told not to do so she finds it hard sometimes not to.
    3. Blunt While she knows she herself is not perfect, she is not above telling you how it is. "That dress doesn't make you look fat, you're just fat."... "Yes little boy, I did skewer your father like a shiskabob because he was a jackass" ect ect and so forth. No sugar coating here.

Likes: Playing chess, training, spicy food, serving the Guardians, being warm
Dislikes: Those who deny the Guardians, sour food, being cold

Fears: One of her fellow Knights falling in battle, the death of the Guardians, snakes
Goals: To aide the Guardians' regain power
Character Behavior: Clarux comes off to others as a very serious Pae. It's been said that she's never seen smiling, but that's mostly because she usually has no reason to. She's frightening in battle, and seems to slip into a lust for pain and death from time to time. She is not one to tell personal secrets to either, because if asked about it she will tell you what she knows if she finds the secret trivial, but it is also known that if it involves the Guardian's safety her mouth shall remained locked until the Guardians deem it okay to speak.

Brief History: Clarux never knew her parents, at least with how far back into her memories she can search. She was found by the Guardian's faeries bearing the mark of the army. She was told that her parent's willingly gave her to be raised at the city, and she believes this. Whether this is true or not still remains to be proven.

Clarux grew to be a very well behaved demon Pae, for the most part. She respected her elders and did as they instructed, thriving in their training. The only times she got in trouble is when squabbles started. Some of the children would push one to many buttons and they'd end up with several broken bones. The Faeries have since then worked on her anger management, and now it's very hard to make Clarux lash out. However, this maliciousness seems to still seep out when she's in combat, and many Fae have stopped training with her in fear of their own personal safety.

    Questions:
  • While growing up, did you get along with the other kids? Yes and no. I've broken a few bones in my youth, but I have worked out my anger issues since those days. I always viewed them like my siblings, and I care for all of them.
  • What is your earliest memory? Tarkon the faerie teaching me to play chess.
  • Are you an optimistic or pessimistic? I am more idealistic, but it's often viewed as pessimism
  • Do you have any annoying quirks, mannerisms, or habits? What are they? I tend to grind my teeth during practice a lot, and my wings tend to flex a lot when I am stressed. I am also told I am brutally honest, but I really don't see anything wrong with that.
  • Name the one fairy that had the most influence on you while growing up. What was it they did? Tarkon. He taught me how to play chess, how to adapt to any situation, how to curb my anger, and pretty much everything else in life. He's the closest thing to a father I ever had. He also makes the best curry you've ever tasted.
  • In your opinion, what is the worst thing any creature could do? Denounce the existence of the Guardians. I am living proof of their existence, and I will not stand for such blasphemous claims.
  • Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love? I am currently unsure. While part of me hopes for this, part of me wishes not to dwell on such things. My love for the Guardians should be highest in my heart.
  • How honest are you about your thoughts and feelings? I am more than willing to tell you how I feel. Just do not get upset if you do not like what I have to say.
  • Do you have any biases or prejudices? Abominations. They are liars and deceivers and can be trusted just about as far as you can throw them.
  • Is there anything you absolutely refuse to do under any circumstances? Why do you refuse to do it? Denounce my faith. I would rather die.
  • Who or what, if anything, would you die for (or otherwise go to extremes for)? The Guardians and my fellow knights in training. We are a family, and if in my death I save the more important ones so be it. Like in chess, some players must be sacrificed in the game of war.
  • What do you do to unwind? I play chess and sometimes read. I used to play the lute but I have not found the time as of recent.

Pick ONE of these prompts to respond to: (please limit responses to 1000 words or less)
  • Free-form: Write a monologue or solo, describe anything you'd like to about what your pae may encounter, or has experienced, or how he or she feels about anything.

Clarux found satisfaction in the sound of the training dummy made of wood and straw crackle and burn. She had to stop herself from imagining the blood curdling screams it would have been making if it were alive, but the thought was oh so tempting. She was becoming restless here in the castle. She wanted to leave and spread the word, but she wasn't ready yet. She needed more training. Her need to watch a real blasphemer burn would have to wait. Wait until the Guardians said she was ready.

She had permission to leave the castle now, as a teen, but she hardly ever did, keeping to the training yard for the most part, working herself weary. It was the only way she could get herself to sleep, by running herself ragged now that she had aged. The Fae had all professed their worry over how she was behaving, but she paid them little mind. It was either that or stay awake half of the night, thinking of things she wished not to think upon.

The thought of her parents have been pressing onto her mind much more often in the night. Who were they? Where were they? Would they be proud of the warrior she had become? Where they even still alive? She hated thinking about those sorts of things, so she would rather beat practice dummies until she was too tired to think then deal with all these what if scenarios that would creep upon her in the dark hours of the night.

It was good practice too, to push oneself to breaking. In the battlefield, there is no rest, to time outs, no do overs. She felt that she harder she pushed, the harder she would then be able to push when the time called for it. Sure, eventually one of the Fae would drag her away for a day off, but until she was dragged there, she would just keep going, keep stabbing, keep burning.

She turned to look at the practice field, watching the now several dummies burn, the fire blanketing her in a well welcomed warmth. For once, she couldn't help but smile as she closed her eyes, and heard their screams.
