Enrollment The Acceptance Bin, had, in the last few months, finally figured out how to use the door. Granted, it probably took a lot of ingenuity and a fair helping of imagination to figure out how exactly a bin could open a door, but it did, and it was on the prowl. After snarfing up a few cleaning bills and whatever contents it could get off the secretary's desk (though how it had gotten up there was another story entirely) - including a small hidden notebook that had the words "HUNTER WARNING" on it - it had then moved onto the creme of the crop, the actual student enroll letters. Of which there was only one. With a sad sigh and a hiccup, it devoured it anyway, suddenly feeling rather lonely.

 The BasicsName: Yǐn Cáng (to hide/conceal/lie low/recessed) Pronounced: Here (Scroll down, about the 5th entry, hover mouse over >> click the speaker button) Nicknames: Yin Age: Probably 16-17 at the start of Y3 (As a male no one remembered what day he was born) Faction: Monster Race: Mantodea (Weremantis) Natural Ability: Shapeshifting (Both Y1 and Y2, so now more advanced): Yǐn Cáng can shift into his natural form, about 7'6" tall, and also down to a completely humanoid form. Flight - He's got wings and he knows how to use them. Fear: Y3 Fear: Unobstructed Fists (Uses Swift Strikes for battle system) - Yǐn Cáng punches several times in quick succession to deal damage to his opponent. (Mantis style boxing is known for quick and continuous attacks) Y2 Fear: Exoskeleton (uses Barrier for battle system) - Yǐn Cáng's FEAR wraps him in a protective shield to ward off damage. Will block more damage as he progresses. Y1 Fear: ICly unknown atm - (uses The Chill) Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? After accidentally winning a martial arts competition that he meant to throw, and gaining the attention of multiple females, Yǐn Cáng ran away from home. Away from his clan he was finally free but realized he had no idea how to function in the normal world of Halloween. He could not avoid all females, and began to realize that maybe his clan was not right about everything. Maybe things could be different. When he learned of the academy he enrolled, hoping to learn enough to function on his own.

Personality:
Terrified of females: Unlike most males of his species that view becoming a female's particular servant a great honor, Yǐn Cáng has never wanted to be noticed by females. He was brought up that females are better, and that a male has no place even suggesting that a female may be less than perfect. This is ingrained in his psyche, and even though he is no longer with his clan he cannot simply get over those beliefs. He was taught to obey females, and would be extremely hard-pressed to disobey even non-Mantodea females. Initially he did not want to be singled out, and feared losing what little freedom he had as an unchosen. As time progressed and he realized he had more to lose his fear of females grew as well. When dealing with females he has a constant inner war happening, to obey as he was taught, or to maybe try to break away from the beliefs that structured the first 15 years of his life. Currently he is likely to either obey simple orders out of habit, or he will completely rebel and refuse (though he may be sneaky about this). The bigger the demand (and more time he has to think on it) the more likely he is to simply not do it.
Hiding in plain sight: Because he never wanted to attract a female's attention he became fairly accustomed to not-standing out. Around females and in large groups he tends to blend into the background, present, doing his fair share, but doing nothing to stand out.
Bros before hos: Not that he would ever call a lady a ho. Yǐn Cáng is able to relax around males, but is also accustomed to living in a dog-eat-dog world with other males. If he truly believes in something he will fight for it, but the majority of the time he is willing to step back and let others step into the spotlight.
Never not choices: Yǐn Cáng particularly hates not having choices, and now that he has finally broken away from his clan he is determined that he will have more control over his life. He likes the fact that it is up to him as to whether or not he will do his homework, take a shower at night or in the morning (or at all), and that he feels more in control. He is likely to do what is expected of him, and he's willing to compromise, so long as he has an option. If given a direct order from a male he will have problems, ranging from doing the exact opposite of what was asked to quietly sabotaging the task.
Pride: He is fairly easy going, but if anyone mocks his martial arts or suggests that he is weak he will take offense. He is not overly concerned that he is on the smallish size, unless someone uses it to say that he is weak.
General characteristics: not afraid of hard work (tends to just do things and get them over with), unaccustomed to having his own things/space/bubble (may lead to coveting a few mementos)
Generic likes: natural colors, having his own room, food (carnivorous), being active
Generic dislikes: pressure to do things, demanding individuals, technology (it is foreign/new to him), staying still
Hobbies:
Martial Arts: Males (and whichever females wish to) learn how to use martial arts as the primary Mantodea method of defense. However, martial arts mean much more to Yǐn Cáng than the average mantis. He can truly relax/unwind with his martial arts, and uses them as a stress reliever. He has some natural abilities, but much of it comes from sheer hours of practice. Eat/sleep/live/breathe martial arts.

Mantodea - Pronounced incorrectly by humans as man-toad-ia, the correct pronunciations are man-toe-di-a (referring to the clan or groups) and man-toe-day (referring to individuals).
Weremantises began appearing in Halloween as soon as the first humans began having nightmares about the mantis' breeding behavior. As it is the females that most men fear, the first monster created was female: known simply as Jing. Jing founded the Mantodea Clan. Most male mantodea have been born to mantodea parents rather than created out of human fear (though due to generic mantis phobias some males have been created that way).
The Clan revolves around a VERY strong matriarchal system. There is also a strong religious element, based around shrines primarily dedicated to the Great Mantis, a mythical giant mantis created by Jing (though few know it is a myth). Jing wanted females to reign supreme, so only females can fully serve the shrines, and Jing herself is the highest ranked priestess. Every aspect of the Mantodea Clan is supervised (at least in title) by females. They view the males as tools, means to an end. If a female takes particular interest in a male she may make him her personal servant. The only acceptable way for a male to refuse is if he has multiple offers, and then he has a choice of who to follow. This act is typically accompanied by the female giving some form of token to the male as a mark that he is taken (a ribbon, small piece of jewelry, a belt, etc).
Most male mantodea accept this. They grew up raised to believe females are superior and not to question them. Their major roles include defense of the clan, missions to scare humans, and serving females. They view being chosen by a female as an honor, and aim to catch the attention of the most powerful females as their status is based on who they serve (aka butler to someone important is better than being a butler to a middle-class someone).
The few weremantises that are not part of the Mantodea clan are those born by fear who never found out about the clan (they are very secluded after all) or the few that actually left the clan. Most mantodea are content with their lives in the clan. Of those that are not content there is still a large percentage that stay, as it is very difficult to go against years of training and tradition and leave behind everything that one knows.
Mantises are carnivorous, and view food as “the fresher and rarer the better.” Meat is often prepared simply, and cooking is an option. The best food goes to females, and filters down to the males. Males that either have a particular affinity for food or who have physical handicaps are the ones that typically become chefs. Other jobs for males include guards and generic cleaning, caretaking, and livestock raising duties. Females usually work in the arts (music, painting, fashion, and calligraphy among others) and the shrines. Females can choose almost any job that they choose. Also, almost all Mantodea ambassadors (whose primary duty is dealing with traders) are female.
Mantodea's help generate Fear by staring in giant bug movies. They have also discovered that many humans (especially males) will experience Fear if they say something suggestive to them and gesture with their front legs. Most humans do not even know that most of these mantids are male, and have no desire to decapitate and have their way with them.

Supports Mot's love of leather. Sparrow: TL;DR: Sparred, questioned if YC was hunter, YC transformed + was annoyed, Sparrow appologized and fled. YC feels badly about this. Gene: Ghoul, sat next to her at the play. Seemed nice enough until she impresonated Princess Eva. Mitzi: Its a ghoul :/ But she may be interested in Alexander, so she is relatively safe. Rikki: This boil told Miss Danny she was stupid while he was her chosen. Actually a pretty cool guy. Night: Black cat who thinks that I want to eat him for no apparent reason. He beat me in a fight though, so he interests me. He's also terrifying. Miss Xiu-Ying: Demoness whose bags I carried and she fed me. I also stayed by her side in the Treasure room. More of a well-done steak.  Roch: He claims to be friends with Miss Danny yet defends Rikki. He seems to have a grudge against me and would not properly finish our fight. Frost in the Storm - Our bodies may not be compatible but he is a pretty good guy.
