[1v1] Show Me That Brute Strength (Mitsu & Hel) [FIN]

Shun still might have not agreed with her tactics, but regardless, Hel had made a promise to herself to also help improve Mitsu’s battle prowess, and she was sticking to it.

After giving the Lycan a quick call, Hel stood waiting in the outdoor arena, checking the straps of her gauntlet as she waited for the ghoul to show. Hopefully she would appear in a reasonable, timely matter…Hel really didn’t want to have to go hunt her down or bad talk her again…but if it’d get her to fight…so be it. Hopefully she wouldn’t have to though.  

[Inu-Mitsu]

Mitsu was still a little nervous to be sparring Hel considering how the last time had went. There was still that lingering ache of guilt no matter how many times Shun told her it wasn't her fault. Still, she didn't doddle in getting ready and was soon on her way to meet the winged reaper in the gym.

As she approached the gym with a bag slung over her shoulders she saw Hel waiting for her and offered the ghoul a sheepish wave. Hopefully this fight wouldn't turn out like it did last time.

Hel looked rather pleased upon seeing the Lycan enter the gym rather swiftly, and Mitsu was rewarded with a large grin and an energetic wave. “Good to see you, friend!” She called out. “Congratulations on advancing to the next year as well!” Satisfied with the straps, Hel looked ready to roll. “Are you ready?”  

[Inu-Mitsu]

Once inside the gym Mitsu set her bag on the ground and pushed it aside. She had mainly brought it for first aid stuff since the last two times she had been cut up pretty badly. Hopefully...her luck would be better this time.

"Uh, thanks! Congratulations as well!" Mitsu's smile faded from nervous to something a little warmer as she faced the reaper, preparing herself mentally for the fight that was about to come. "Yes, I suppose I am." Getting into stance Mitsu waited, eyeing Hel thoughtfully.

“Thank you as well.” Hel gave a small nod of her head, noting with pleasant surprise how quickly Mitsu seemed to be geared into getting ready.

Wow. Shun really had done a lot of work with her. Good. This was excellent.

The reaper held out a hand, summoning her spear, and crouched. “Here I come!” She cried out, and it was the only warning Mitsu received as the ghoul lunged at her. Hel pulled her weapon back, and slashed at the Lycan.

Mitsu had tried to dodge and while she had avoided a full on slash she still took a small cut to the arm. And so began the little nicks everywhere.

Doing her best to ignore the cut for now Mitsu came back around trying to remember the things the reaper had helped her work on. She felt her muscles tense as she lashed out, aiming to knock the spear aside so she could get in close and nail the reaper in the arm. The werewolf could feel the tip of the iceberg when it came to her strength, it was so closely in her grasp but she was far from mastering it.

Mitsu’s tactic was successful, and the Lycan’s forwardness had caught the valkyrie off guard.

Her spear was knocked to the side, and she felt the first strike of Mitsu’s attack. Her brows furrowed, and the ghoul couldn’t help but chuckle. Jack damn. This was definitely what she wanted to see. Hel flapped her wings, pulling herself away a bit, before lunging back in, her spear outstretched.

[Inu-Mitsu]

Being small had its advantages at times and this was one of them. Mitsu sidestepped the sweeping spear avoiding it entirely as she crouched down. Without hesitating she lashed out while Hel was still close, using her legs in a sweeping kick that Shun had shown her trying to take Hel's feet out from under her.

“Ack!” Hel stumbled, nearly getting herself knocked to the ground from Mitsu’s sweeping kick until she kept herself up by flapping her wings.

“Heh…good job!” The valkyrie cheered. Despite not being knocked to the floor, she could still feel the power behind that kick. The ghoul lashed out at the Lycan again with her spear, the weapon arching in a wide sweep.

[Inu-Mitsu]

Being praised felt nice but it turned out to be a better distraction than anything else. Mitsu had tried to attack again but ended up barely dodging Hel's swinging spear, rolling out of the way and ending in a crouch. Her eyes trained on the reaper waiting for her next move, her muscles tensing as she thought about shifting. Would it help? Would it make a difference?

As Mitsu rolled away, Hel was right on her, lunging towards her with the use of her wings.

This time, when she swept at the Lycan with her spear, it landed its mark. The valkyrie then climbed higher into the air, watching Mitsu in return with a keen eye. She was well aware the ghoul could transform, and just the strength she was showing in her student appearance was rather impressive. Hel grinned, waiting anxiously for the next move.

[Inu-Mitsu]

Mitsu hadn't expected Hel to follow so closely behind her and when she turned to face the ghoul she was greeted with a spear to the side. She let out a small yelp, the spear head digging in deep before Hel drew back and backed up with the aid of her wings.

Mitsu took a swing to ward the ghoul back further to hopefully avoid a second attack so soon, her hand coming up to press against her side for a moment. Her fingers touched something warm and wet and she knew without looking she was bleeding.

Since Mitsu was caught up, Hel took full advantage of that. She dove back in, closing the distance between herself and the Lycan once more, and lanced her again. “Don’t get distracted, Mitsu!” The reaper called out, climbing into the air once more after that strike.

“This battle isn’t over yet.”

Mitsu tried to lash out at Hel as she swooped by but only managed a small hit shortly before she felt the tip of her spear in her side again. The lycan let out a small grunt, her hand going to the new puncture wound as her eyes followed the Valkyrie's new path through the air.

It was a light hit that didn’t bother Hel too much.

She swept through the hair, and twirled her spear around, so that the blunt end was facing the Lycan. She then reached forward and smacked her with it. Why? Change of variety, and it just seemed to fit the situation at the time.
