Homemade Laundry Soap!

So I finally got around to making my laundry soap yesterday. The whole project cost me under 10 dollars. And I have plenty left over to make much much more.

If you google search the Duggar's Laundry Soap recipe, that's the exact recipe I used, except that I used Zote. Because (1) I liked the smell better and (2) I couldn't find Fels Naptha at Walmart, I wasn't about to make a second trip to a different store.

It yeilds 10 gallons of laundry soap. That comes out to pennies a load. MUCH cheaper than commercial laundry soap.

Here's pictures of the process. :] Any questions, feel free to post em.

Dry Ingredients
Melting the soap
Gelling up
Ready to be diluted!

I just did my first load of laundry with it, I'll up date when I have a better opinion on it. biggrin

Sorry for the late response.
Out of the bucket, it smells good.

Out of the washing machine, you can't really smell it.
That took me some getting used to, because I'm so used to the commercial soap.

If you decide to make the powdered, you can add a smell booster.
Purex Crystals. You can get them in the laundry department.
