[1 v 1] Just Practicing (Amrita / Jericho)

There were a lot of things that Amrita wanted to do with her life, and one of the big ones was to not scream and curl into a ball of pathetic useless every time there was the hint of fire around her. The solution? Jericho. Jericho was a friend, sort of. He saved her once (At least once), and...was fire. A lot of fire.

So she came to him under the guise of just wanting to spar...but she was a terrible liar and a worse fighter, so her real reason was probably somewhat obvious with the repeated mention of the element-that-shall-not-be-named.

"Th-thank you for, um, agreeing...I...promise I'll do my best!" Against Remi she wasn't this nervous, but Remi wasn't a fireball waiting to happen.

Jericho was always up for sparring, though he was surprised to hear Amrita wanting to go up against him. Even so, he didn't turn down the offer to practice. It would be good for them both. He wasn't quite so aware that this had to do with Amrita wanting to work on her pyrophobia. Not yet at least.

"No problem Amrita. Let's get this started now, shall we?" he grinned while stretching out his arms and wings.

Once finished stretching, Jericho launched himself at Amrita, aiming to throw a punch at her face. In short, he was jumping right into this. Hopefully Amrita would understand. It wouldn't be good if he took it easy.

"R-right!" Amrita frowned, leaning back a little for both balance and as a stance. She didn't duck out from his attack; even though it made her stumble it brought him close enough for her to swing a punch at his stomach.

The punch he got wasn't too bad, especially considering her backwards hands. Not backing away, Jericho came up with his other hand to try and punch her with his left.

"Not bad. Keep it up!"

The compliment made her beam...right up until he punched her. She wasn't sure which hand would be attacking, and she chose the wrong one; the punch hit her, loosening a stitch or two on her face. Dang, she'd have to pay more attention! The ghoul took a step back to distance herself at least a little, but instead of the kick she meant to give, she lost her balance tripping on her own toes that caused her to stumble, but not fall.

A part of Jericho felt bad for catching her off guard like that. If he felt bad about that, he was probably going to feel worse for what he was about to do. Jumping back, he took in a deep breath before unleashing a plume of flames at the undead girl.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

Amrita shrieked, this time actually falling back and covering her head with her arms, becoming less than useless...until she realized that a part of her jacket was on fire, in which case she had never stripped out of it so fast. But the damage had been done, and there was a nice burn mark in her arm.

Jericho stared as Amrita BOOKED it screaming. That definitely was a stronger reaction than he would have anticipated. Furrowing his brow, he flew after the girl, before attempting to swat down the flames that were on her jacket. He might have hit a little hard due to trying to catch her at the same time.

It could have just been shot nerves from the flames, but when she felt the hands on her she lashed out, her palm shooting up heel first into the jaw of the boil trying to help her.

The hit to his chin caused Jericho to reel back and crash from his flight. Shaking his head, he slowly pushed himself back to his feet. That was a pretty solid blow he just took. Once his senses were back about, he rushed back towards Amrita, aiming a punch to her kidneys.

Well.

At least to where he thought were her kidneys. Did she even have kidneys?

She did indeed have kidneys! She was very anatomically correct, just...few things worked was all. The punch did made her gasp, a sort of pain shooting through her; oh jack she really felt that! That...was not good. The lingering fear of fire gripped her, but this time there was no lucky shot to the jaw; this time there was a clumsy kick to his shins.

"Ow!"

The kick to the shin didn't hurt that badly but it did cause the dragon to pause in his pursuit. Shaking out his leg, he took in a deep breath and well... breathed fire at the undead again. Jericho knew she was going to freak out but it was the fastest way to get to her!

That and she was going to have to face the flames sooner or later.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" The same scream, the same frantic flail back, the same near fetal position...but it wasn't as bad as the first time, somewhat. She frantically pat out some flames on her pants, feeling the sting of singed flesh. Through the panic of the flames and the heart wrenching terror she tried to remember she was here for this reason exactly.

Not that it made getting back to her feet any easier.

That had caused a very similar reaction to the last one. Frowning, Jericho had to wonder if she would ever get over the fear. It was hard to say, especially since she was an undead. And by that nature, she was rather flammable.

Chasing after the other student once more, he lurched forward and tried to strike her in the back of he head.
