We seriously need to start selling this. Win/win. People get something wiggly to look at, fish don't have to spend their last miserable days in a teeny bowl full of their own waste.
"Before you stick that real, living being in the equivalent of a porta-potty for the rest of its sadly stunted life, have you thought about this? No, a live animal is not "easy" (i.e. it does require maintenance), but THIS is, and they'll do just about the same thing."
If I had a dime for every time I heard someone say, "It's just a goldfish... I just want something to look at... I just want a cute little goldfish bowl with a fish in it." evil Also accompanied by, "Is this EASY to take care of?" (What do you mean by easy? Every living thing requires some amount of work to survive.) Gaaahh.

Dear Lord YES!! D<
And people think we geeks/nerds will never amount to anything more than those weird adults playing make believe around a table every Friday night.
I love this idea. I want to sell them. I bet I could have sold one to a guy who came in tonight thinking that getting his 4 and 5 year olds a fish was gonna be easy-peasy. Man, whoever came up with this is going to be a rich man.
Pure win.

I feel like there are ways to set up micro aquariums that look great. Shrimp, snails ect. Without having fish in a bowl.
although I love the shape of my fishbowl with my beta lol <3 Its 2+ gallons though and its flat on the sides.

Seriously people? You can't feed your goldfish? I'm in college and I have a Beta (His name is Neuro ^_^) and even with classtime, homework, studying, hanging out with friends, etc. He gets fed every day!

Though, I suppose getting a fish is easy if you ignore the fact that it's a living being. lol Someone actually stopped me while I was explaining why a bowl would be very, very bad for a goldfish and said, "No, no, I don't really care. It's just a 13 cent fish! Haha!"
But I do appreciate the ones who go, "Oh, really? I had no idea!" and then proceed to set up an appropriate environment for the kind of fish they want. 3nodding

Would you shut a free puppy in the closet except for playtime and food? Yes, that's relevant." I really want to use the second one on some ignoramus, but I fear that'd get me terminated. >> Buyeah, the kind that are willing to go the distance make me happy. =D I once talked a couple into purchasing a 10g and the whole nine yards of kit for their betta. <3

That may mean nothing coming from a lesbian BUT still <3 Topic at hand: I adore this thing. I want one BADDD. I want one for my 4 year old cousin, since we can't trust her with live things but she'd love to watch something zip in circles.

Kipluck Things like this make me almost forgive Think Geek for THIS 2/5 of a gallon? REALLY?! I know SO many people that should get one of these electronic goldies instead!!! Quote: Plug it in, fill it with water, and drop (gently) a betta or a couple of white-cloud minnows inside, and watch as they swim and dart about, happily frolicking on your desk! (Granted with beta fish there's less frolicking and more floating in catatonia, but you get the idea.) The description of the tank is disgusting. If I was a Betta (not beta- beta fish don't even exist) living in some tiny unheated deathtrap, then I'd float catatonic for hours too. Is it really so hard for people to upgrade their poor fish's bowl to a nice 10 gallon tank with a little heater and filter? Sheesh.
