The entrance to the common room is located "in a nook on the right hand side of the kitchen corridor", concealed behind a stack of barrels.

Nevin approached the painting that concealed the entrance to the common room. It felt a bit nostalgic as he looked at where he was. After this year he would no longer wander these halls, or see the common room. He sighed yet with a smile then spoke to the painting,"Niffler" he said trying to quell the giggle. The password always made him laugh. The frame then swung open and he stepped inside,"Alright everyone, this way"he said moving deeper in.

Nicole pulled out her wand. "Pay close attention to where I'm tapping and the rhythm. Unless you want a bath of Vinegar shower. Tap the barrel two from the bottom, in the middle of the second row. " she pointed at the barrel she was talking about. "in the rhythm of our founder's name 'Helga Hufflepuff' and it should open to reveal the slope leading to our common room." the red haired girl did as she instructed the first years. And sure enough the lid of the barrel she had tapped opened revealing the entrance to their commonroom. She shuddered a bit at the memory of the time she had been so busy and distracted that she had messed up the rhythm and gotten the shower of vinegar.

Ariana watched intently as Nicole told them what to do as she demonstrated it. Two from the bottom, in the middle of the second row, she repeated in her mind. Before the barrel opened up, Ariana looked up to see where the vinegar would fall from. Unable to see anything out of the ordinary, she looked back at the barrel just in time to see it reveal a slope. She followed the red haired prefect to the Hufflepuff Common Room.

Steele made sure to remember the entrance sort of 'code'. It was two from the bottom, in the middle of the second row. He could not imagine where this so called vinegar would come from, but honestly, he didn't want to find out. If he found out...it would be he hardway. Fortunately, he had a good memory; so he should know it without hesitation in the near future. When the prefect demonstrated it, he looked in wonder as the slope appeared. This place was just full of surprises.

They stopped at some barrels and the Prefect began to talk about their secret entrance to the common room. She paid close attention despite her drowsiness to the code to get in. Then Kat watched in amazement as the barrels opened to provide entrance to the badger's den. Kat smirked, remembering when the Sorting Hat placed her in Hufflepuff instead of Slytherin. She wished she could see her father's face when he found out a Varren, a prestigious line of Slytherins, was Sorted into Hufflepuff. Yawning again, she followed the rest of her Housemates into the Common Room.

Take out your wand and tap the barrel in the rhythm of 'Helga Hufflepuff' Now be sure to get the right barrel, or you will get doused in vinegar." he said as he tapped the barrel. Almost done. he thought.

Adalaide watched through sleepy eyes as the Head Boy showed them how to get into the Common Room, a scowl appearing on her face. She was much too tired to remember that in the morning! She sighed, hoping that, whenever she needed to get in next, she'd be more awake, and someone would be nearby to show her how. 'Otherwise I'll be stuck out in the hall like an idiot...'

Jane stepped through the wide empty halls, her sharp heels clicked against the stone floors. Jane had fled from the opening festivities as soon as the food had appeared. Just looking at it had made her feel like throwing up. She was nauseated, though she figured it was more in her head then in her actual stomach. She was lost and thought and that wasn't difficult to tell. Her robes had long since been abandoned, her tie was undone and hung uselessly on her shoulders, her shirt's first two buttons were undone along with the buckles on her shoes. Her hair was down and her glasses and hair bands shoved in her shirt pocket. Jane ran a hand through her thick brown hair. All she wanted to do was take off her tights and read a good book in front of the fire or maybe take a nice bath. Either way as soon as the rest of her house returned to the common room she would once again vanish. She was certainly not in the mood to deal with any first years and she needed a good night sleep.

Dhylan walked up to the stack of barrels and quickly memorized the pattern. He didn't want to get soaked in vinegar, that's for sure. Heather would never let him forget it if that happened. She'd really have a reason to call me Pickle then. he thought with a shudder. He entered the common room along with the other first years.

By the time it was his turn to go he had practically memorized it, but he still felt uneasy as he tapped the rhythm on the barrel. Once he finished the barrel opened up allowing him to enter. He let out a sigh and climbed on into the secret tunnel.

￤￤Allen had been diligently hiding behind one of the many pillars upholding the upper level from being a part of the basement, tracing the details of it, humming without rhythm. His feet felt strangely numb and tingling from having run practically the perimeter of every level of the school on tiptoe. Musing over that very recently ended adventure - and the one that would very soon begin - he idly scratched at some of the loose brick dust off the column. The boy's attention was soon grabbed, surprisingly, by the sound of someone approaching. Rather unceremoniously, judging by their step pattern and breathed mumbling. Allen instinctively pressed himself against the rounded surface of the pillar, glancing just to the side to see who was approaching. To his shock and boundless happiness, i was exactly the figure he had been awaiting.
Though his adventuring companion seemed rather early by his calculations.
If the state of her uniform and the restless fingers running through her hair were any indication to go by - and they always were - Jane had left the Feast early in a bout of spite and frustration and disappointment. As the poor girl did every year.
The very thought of what could have caused this - her worthless friends no doubt (though Ronyo did not seem too bad) - made the newly appointed Prefect jump from his hiding place and right in proximity of being able to catch Jane's wrist. He spun her around, ignoring her yelp of surprise, and balanced her on one hand as he dipped her. Pressing a longing kiss down on her frowning lips.
"Guess who missed you," he whispered against her teeth in a wicked smile, biting on her lower lip before moving his face away.
"It was me. All summer, so so much. Gods, its good to see you Jane." he breathed with unmasked desperation and happiness pooling in her eyes as he placed a kiss on her forehead and hugged her close. "So much" ￤￤
