Shehk stepped back into the forest once again. While she may have been smart enough to know when to stop, in this instance she was going to be as stubborn as she could be. She lived in a forest like this back at Decebal’s. She should have known how to handle this sort of thing! That was what was frustrating her. Perhaps frustration wasn’t the best way to step into this particular trial, however.

Shun had said that pacing and perhaps even relaxing a bit would help. She wasn’t sure. Still, she took a deep breath as she moved in, spotting one of the familiar trinkets quickly and pocketing it.

It seemed she wasn’t the only one watching that particular trinket, however, as soon after she picked it up, something began to clatter after her, the Pricolici’s ears perking up as she immediately began to run in the opposite direction of the noise. She needed to not let it catch up with her!

However, as with most patterns, it seemed that something from the opposite of the direction the thing had been clattering at her in had come to investigate the noise and she’d nearly run into it, only managing to bathe herself in fog and hide at the last second to avoid being seen, panting a bit in a panic. She was riling herself up again. That was bad.

But she wasn’t out of the woods (Umm..) yet, as she nearly ran into one of the smaller ‘watchmen’. Backpedaling again was a go. Why couldn’t she shake these things? It baffled her, but…

[Shehk, you're ********, stop it.]

Even as she moved away from the fella she’d nearly bowled over, it seemed to attract another one of them to alert to where she was. That was frustrating to beyond belief, and she could hear that thing lumbering around to investigate what all the commotion was about, making a face. She needed to shake these guys.

[Punch that b***h]

Fortunately, they were fragile, as Shehk’s fists were not the most deadly of weapons, turning on one heel to suddenly swing a fist around to smash into one of the little patrolmen, hitting it firmly in the torso and sending it reeling back. That gave her enough time to run from the scene before she was descended upon.

With the pair thrown off her trail, Shehk took a minute to clear her head, sighing deeply before she looked over and spotted another one of the trinkets, taking a deep breath as she reached over and plucked it up, turning it over in her hand before she pocketed it. Thank goodness. Okay. She could do this.. she could do this..she could do this.

With another deep breath to calm her nerves, Shehk got moving again. This wasn’t as bad as it could have been, and just to prove it, another trinket was soon added to the others she had collected so far. That reinforced some positive to her. Good. She could do this. Good. Good. Good.

Even after that one, there would be another, and she was beginning to get a bit more hopeful about this. She needed to tread lightly, this forest was kind of mean, as far as she was concerned. She carefully stalked over to another trinket to pick up, sighing as she added it to the others. That was four now.

Stepping again, however, the earth crunched underneath her feet and she winced, hearing something as it began to move towards her. She managed to not swear under her breath for her failure, but she did start moving away from that location.

Stepping between two trees, Shehk found another trinket lingering above her as she tried to hold still to avoid detection, trying to not sigh with relief as she pulled it down into her pocket. She was starting to make progress, and she liked that. She liked that a lot. Still, she couldn’t linger still there too long.

She looked out from where she was carefully, looking both ways, then around to get an idea of where it was she was hiding right then. This was a different place than usual, but it seemed like a reasonable place to hide if she could manage it. She made a note of that before she moved away – attempting to be quiet about it.

A few paces away, she found another trinket. Okay, a hiding place and a trinket. She was liking this area so far. She took another look around before she continued to move. Careful…careful…..

She could see one of those things not too far away from her in the fog, and Shehk held her breath as she moved carefully around it. Being undead, holding her breath wasn’t too hard, but still she had to make a note to tread carefully. It didn’t seem to notice as she stalked by. Phew!

After that stalk, Shehk leaned up against a tree to clear her head. Oh man, that had been intense. She hoped she wasn’t out in the open like that as she tried to regain her location so she could continue her collection. Because this was pretty difficult as far as she knew, so she needed to be careful about it.
