Here is my Story, Wands at the Ready, It follows Micheal Petit, a young Ravenclaw in the same year as Harry, Ron and Hermione. It tells of the view of the events in the books from a different character's point of view.
Feel free to read but do not post in this thread.

Chapter 1 - U/C

 

[Sir Spazalots]

The sharp clash of shattering china rang out through the open window of a small cottage outside Ottery St. Catchpole. An owl had just soared through the window and frightened the young Micheal Petit. Though owls were not uncommon in the household it was what the owl had left behind that had made the boy drop the plates for breakfast. Two letters from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry sat on the table. The eleven year old was finally beginning his time in Hogwarts. "Mum! Da! The letters are here! The Hogwarts Letters!" he said loudly. In response he heard his mother heading towards the kitchen, as the blonde woman entered.
"Well hurry and open it!" she said excitedly. Micheal tore open the letter and read it hastily.
He smiled widely "Mum when can we go to Diagon Alley?" he asked impatiently. The young blonde hopped up and down excitedly as his mother said they could go later that day. "Yay!" he said before rushing out of the kitchen and to his bedroom.
The smallest bedroom of the Petit Household was cluttered and a tad messy, with a stack of chocolate frog cards on a desk and broken quills and crumbled papers covered in crude drawings. The same smile on his face the boy began to search for his savings, having completely forgetting about eating.
Finally the boy found the bag of galleons and sickles he had gathered through the years. Five years allowance saved up was now to be used, that is, if his parents let him.
Just as he set out to count his money, a knock rang sounded from his door. A mousy haired girl popped her head in. "Hey, you gonna eat or what? Mum said you dashed out without food." said Sandra, his older sister. She would be starting her fourth year at Hogwarts, being a member of Hufflepuff.
Micheal blinked for a moment. Eat? Oh! He had forgotten to finish setting to table for Breakfast! "Yeah! I'll be right down!" he said as he looked about at the pile of coins. Shrugging he moved out of his room and followed his sister down to the kitchen.
