**Of Mechs and Men**

[Fenrir Shade]

((Well, I've had these characters on the back burner for quite some time, so I think it's about time to introduce them.))

A man walks through New Mobotropolis heading for the Ice Kingdom. Passing pedestrians backed up from the sight of him, some running and hiding all together. But it was not because he was grotesque, or that he had an evil vibe about him, it was because of what was following him: Two Mech units, one in a rough Hedghog shape, the other in a definitely more menacing shape, with several weapons actively visible on its body. The man strides up to the gate leading into the tram, and activates a personal device, propelling him upwards and onto the floating island that is the Ice Kingdom. He walks into the throne room with his robots in tow, and approaches King Macafee, being stopped by armed guards twenty feet away.

“Threat detected. Arming weapons.” says the massive Mech floating behind the man, spinning up its Gatling Guns and arming the Lazer Rifles on its right arm.
((By the way, I imagine his voice to sound like E102 Gamma from Sonic Adventure DX))

"SS! Abort! Your Pre-mission Directive was to hold all fire and to kill no personnel unless I specifically say otherwise!" commands the man, holding his hand up in a fist.

"Understood. Aborting." says the robot named SS, lowering his weapons.

"King Macafee, I apologize for his brash behavior. He was programmed to eliminate all threats to the well being of his owner, me. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Doctor Eli Flynn, and these are my mechs: Side-Swipe Death Mech Mk. I, and SaFire V.I Auxiliary Unit." says the man, Dr. Flynn, motioning to each robot respectively. "I would like to ask for residence in your kingdom in exchange for my services and the protection my mechs can offer."

S.M. pondered the thought. in one hand it was free help. On the other hand, he had no idea of this guy's background. "You'll stay in the castle town and report to the lab here in the castle tomorrow for an interview." S.M. said professionally.  

[Fenrir Shade]

"Thank you. I will arrive at eight o'clock sharp." with that, Dr. Flynn leaves the castle with his escort, heading for his temporary home. Upon arrival, he puts both Mechs on a type of sleep mode, and falls asleep himself.

*** Timeskip ***

Dr. Flynn and his Mechs sits in a chair outside the lab an hour prior to the arranged time, waiting for his interview.  

[The Jolly Victini]

The lab doors slid open and Manu walked into view. He had a clipboard with what looked like a checklist with note sections. "Hello! I am Manu. I am one of the scientists here at the castle." He said.  

[Fenrir Shade]

"Ah, salutations my fellow colleague! You must be one of the Zyranians living here at the castle, I've been anticipating meeting one of you since I first found out you were living here! My name is Doctor Eli Flynn, Engineer, Medical Practitioner, and Scientist, at your service. And I also make a Mean Chili." says Dr. Flynn, shaking Manu's equivalent of a hand. "So are you to be my interviewer?"  

[The Jolly Victini]

"Yes! I will be asking you a few questions, mostly relating to situations and how you would handle them." Manu explained.  

[Fenrir Shade]

"Sounds simple enough. Ask away good sir." Dr. Flynn says. "What shall I do with my friends?" he asks, motioning towards the two robots waiting patiently for a command.  

[The Jolly Victini]

"Just switch them to standby mode for now." Manu said, flipping through the clipboard.  

[Fenrir Shade]

"Yes sir." he turns to the robots, "Activate Standby Mode please."

With the command, the robot's lights dimmed and then slumped over slightly.

"Shall we begin?"  

[The Jolly Victini]

Manu looked through the clipboard a bit more, then looking to the doctor. "Something simple first. Ahem. The kingdom is suddenly attacked by an unknown enemy. What's your first response?"  

[Fenrir Shade]

"Well, first I would immediately notify King Macafee to assure he knew the danger that has arisen in his kingdom."  

[The Jolly Victini]

"Wrong!" Manu quickly shot at his interviewee. "King Swift has guards all over the castle who cam notify him of danger in seconds. There is no need to alert the king of danger. Your job is to quickly secure all the important rooms. If any danger bypasses the guards, the king and queen are more than capable of handling themselves. Our job is to protect the chaos emeralds and the crystal heart. If those are tampered with, the world is in danger." Manu looked at Flynn sternly. "Understand?"  

[Fenrir Shade]

((Well damn. No playing around then.))

"Yes sir. I was unaware of the combat prowess of the King and Queen. I will be sure to adjust my strategy."  

[The Jolly Victini]

Manu scanned his clipboard once more and in seconds, looked back to him. "What are you safety procedures for warp drive travel?" The alien asked.  

[Fenrir Shade]

((...? I'm pulling this out of my a** right now.))

"Well, I've never participated in warp drive travel, but I'll take a swing at it. I would make sure that my fellow shipmates are secured in Cryogenic Stasis, all bulkheads are locked, all airlocks are closed, and all non-essential electronics are offline until safe arrival at our destination, then secure myself into Cryogenic Stasis for the journey."
