She'd heard through the grapevine (which really meant just overheard others gossiping) that there was a portal connected to a particular haunted house. One that seemed to have some connection to those disgusting creatures they hunted. Many reports - or whispers - had been mentioned of battles taking place among the rooms of the old structure. The whole thing just sounded like an excellent opportunity to get in some real time battle experience to her!
Or maybe it was arrogance rubbing off from Vashi. Not that she was a very arrogant individual. But Infinity Wynaero had one hell of a time at admitting weaknesses or that she needed 'help' with anything.
And frankly, she needed as much help as she could get with fighting. But she was getting better at it! She was learning to put all her faith and trust in her weapon, a big feat for her. And Vashi, his charming personality aside, was doing his part in making sure she didn't ******** up too badly.
:: Be careful once you enter, precious. :: His low, dark voice whispered in her mind. :: No telling what you'll find on the other side. ::
:: Hopefully a battle. :: She thought with mild amusement, though her heart was pounding as she approached the portal. The guard on duty gave her one of those 'looks' and she just scowled back. After a minute of staring, she allowed the trainee to pass. Which is exactly what Fini did...after taking a deep, calming breath and stepping forward. There was the tingling sensation from the portal before cool air brushed against her cheek. Blinking rapidly and going into alert mode, Fini took in her surroundings. She had to privately admit, the haunted house looked pretty cool.
:: Precious.... :: Vashi sighed.
Right. Keep focused. She started forward cautiously, glancing at the old walls of the 'house' she was in. Curiously, Fini placed a hand along the wall. It was cool yet almost felt as if it pulsed with a life of its own. Strange. She thought to herself, moving along to toe a door open and lean in slowly. When nothing moved, she entered all the way.
:: Is this a...nursery of some sort? ::
:: Hmm....or a scarelings playroom. The dolls look old and dusty. ::
Crouching down in front of a couple, Fini ran a finger down it's cheek. A thin layer of dust was coated over the plastic toy. Her nose wrinkled and before she could stop it, a small mouse-like sneeze escaped. Shi~t.
:: ....was that...a sneeze?! :: Vashi choked out, trying very hard not to laugh.
:: Oh shutup! ::

Mei had practically recovered from the fight between herself and Gale, that she was well enough to be out and about, rather than cooped up in her room. When she first arrived at amityville, she had no problem hanging back in her room, cut off from the rest of the school and her schoolmates. But as time grew, she grew to hate it. It annoyed her, and it frustrated her when she was stuck recovering from injuries day in and day out. Either she would have to improve her healing skills, fast--or she would need to be more wary of battles so to avoid this.
Rounding the corner, she hadn't realized it, but she was already walking down a familiar path. Recently familiar.. "How the hell--?" She was back in the same corridor as before? When did this even happen? Yet again, it seemed to coax her forward, to keep moving towards that same damned building. And of course, she couldn't refuse. This place was a nightmare!
The doll kept walking, not stopping, even as she passed through the front door of the mansion. It was just as she remembered it--or so she thought to have remembered it anyways. She could barely remember much, aside from the battle between herself and the blond death hunter. Wrinkling her nose, she turned to another room.
Inside, it was like a large nursery of some sort--full of..dolls? Was this some sort of annoying joke or something? Almost snorting at the sight, Mei was about to turn and leave, when she caught something--someone on the other side of the room. Immediately, the warning bells in her head went off as she noticed the woman cloaked in white and gold. The same white and gold that Gale himself was wearing. A different pattern, but alike all the same. Another hunter.
Stepping back, she felt, and heard a loud crunch beneath her foot. Looking down to see what it was she had stepped on, she realized she had crushed the face of one of the porcelain dolls laying scattered across the floor. s**t..

Realizing it was too late to turn back now, Mei clenched her fists tightly, giving the hunter a level stare. From the looks of things, this hunter had seen her share of battle or something, what with all the little scars on her body. It made her wonder, just how she had received them, and so many. It also made her more wary. There was no telling how good of a fighter this ghoul was--she would just have to assume that most, or all hunters were professionals when it came to their job. That way, she would not come to underestimate them, and live to regret it.
Raising a brow, she was surprised the ghoul had to ask what she was. Wasn't it..obvious? "Can you not tell just by looking?" She wasn't sure what it was, but something had the ghoul cringing. Maybe she was scared of dolls..? Really..who was scared of dolls? The thought was actually quite amusing now that she thought about it.
But there was no time to drag this out. She had a chance to strike at her. Her weapons were not drawn, so this would be a perfect opportunity.
Without warning, Mei charged forward, striking at her hard with a single blow to the stomach.

Why was it these humans were so afraid to see her? Were dolls really that scary in the human world? She practically looked like one of them, save for the cracks and all, but still! She didn't get it one bit.
In any case, she didn't care. If the ghoul was scared of her, then all the better! It was a nice change to see a human terrified, rather than her own kind always scrambling to run away from them. With this hunter terrified, she could almost feel her strength growing, as she practically fed off of her fear.
But this was not important right now.
Mei needed to focus on defeating this hunter, and getting the hell out of here. She had lost once to a hunter..she didn't want to lose a second time. Not to them. Ever.
Jumping clear of the ghoul's weapon, Mei skittered off to the side and aimed low for a swift kick to her lower legs.
