[1 v 1] Rage harder bro (Yin and Westie-poo (idek))

Three spars down today. Yin was having a hard time collecting himself after the last one, though it was understandable after being thrown against a wall and taking more blows to his rather battered midsection. But for some reason he was just getting himself patched up enough to keep going, though his Fear shield was struggling to keep up, and could not seem to fully recover.

Still, there was a boil over there, one that he thought he recognized. West. His name was West. They had been at an assembly together. He had seemed a bit angry then, so perhaps...perhaps he was angry now? Or might at least be looking for a spar.

That was about five times the reason that Yin had been others to spar with him so he went over to the boil quickly enough, trying not to reveal how run down he was feeling. "West?" he called out as he approached. "Might you be interested in a spar?"

West was, in fact, looking for a fight. He was always looking for a fight, to be honest. He might have been in a ridiculously good mood at the moment, but that didn't mean it wasn't punch time.

"Yeah, I'll take ya on," he replied. He might have noticed that the mantis boil looked slightly run down, but who was he to say? He didn't know this Yin at all really. Maybe he looked like this all the time.

The demon strolled across the FEAR-shielded gym floor, casually turning to face Yin as if they were out for a weekend picnic.

"Thank you." As Yin followed the demon to an open area for their fight it was a bit obvious that his knee was acting up. Mademoiselle Temes had knocked it out of joint, and while he had put it back the injury was rather obvious when he stumbled a bit. It was a good thing he was following West.

He was ready for a fight, and while yes, this was just a spar, he also was perfectly content to anger his opponent so that he could get a better fight out of the deal. So almost as soon as they were there he gave West his peculiar bow that involved putting his right fist on the open palm of his left hand and then struck without warning, lashing out with his right fist.

He wasn't used to being thanked for agreeing to deliver beatings, but West did seem to recall that this boil was exceedingly proper. "Don't mention i--"

When Yin's fist jabbed into his jaw, West's face twisted into a surprised glower. So that was how it was going to be, eh? Was this kid just looking to get the crap kicked out of him? He shrugged mentally, backing up a few steps and clasping his hands together in front of his chest, readying his FEAR.

"I love..." Eating eye scream? Playing with scarelings? Glittery body spray? Yin would never know. West had quickly gathered impressive ball of roiling, angry FEAR, but when he tried to fling it at the monster, it rebounded squarely into West's chest, catching his words in a resigned 'oof'. It figured.

"Dammit," he muttered. Maybe he needed a bit more strategy.

Apparently West loved "dammit," so that possibly meant that he loved cursing. Or something that was so embarrassing or inappropriate that it needed to be censored. Yin would never know. Still, his eyes widened.

Noticing that the demon was readying his Fear Yin did as well, summoning his Fear to him, keeping a careful eye on that angry ball of Fear that just...

...

Did it just hit West? Yin was so busy staring that his Fear, which was he was already struggling with, simply faded back, as he left himself open to an attack. "I love Princess Eva?" he offered, though today even the thought of his beloved rabo was not making him smile.

So, they were going to have a FEAR fight, were they? West could handle that. Thoughts of strategy temporarily left him as he prepared to strike again, but his attack petered out much as Yin's had. But... that was the new shiny thing he had just learned! Why hadn't it worked?

"Who?" West asked. He backed up slightly, his brows dipping in agitation. For better or worse, Yin had managed to make the demon angry, or at the very least, majorly irritated.

"My minipet," he clarified. "As you were talking about what you loved." It did seem like an odd conversation for a battle, but if that was what the other boil liked he did not mind talking about his rabo.

He moved forward, swiping out with his claws, feeling them catch on the other boil. It was time to fight, and the other boil really needed to attack him already.

Fortunately, or perhaps sadly given Yin's current desire to be mauled, West still had one more ace up his sleeve. It was an ace he didn't particularly enjoy using, since most of the time it drove him to one of two extremes: uncontrollable violence or disturbing calm. Instead of trying to project his FEAR toward his opponent, he deliberately collapsed it in on himself, his whole body appearing to glow before the light was consumed and his thoughts sharpened to the point of pain.

So.

It was to be the calm.

West reacted to the mantis' attack with little more than a smirk, his eyes wide and bright with the crazies. "I was gonna say," he murmured in a strange, suspiciously clear monotone, "That I love fightin' kids who don't know any better. Weak ones. Like you."

The look in the boil's eyes was a bit disconcerting. But it was what he said that really bothered him. Weak? He was not weak. He was not. His hands balled into fists as he eyed the demon. "If you love fighting weak kids I am afraid you may not enjoy this fight as much as you seem to think."

He lashed out with a his fist, a quick jab aimed at West's stomach, simply satisfied that it at least connected.

West shrugged, barely moving his shoulders. "I'll fight ya if y'think yer strong too."

His body seemed to fold in a bit under the impact of Yin's fist, but he quickly countered, his arm moving with a grace and precision he normally lacked. It swung in an arc aimed for the other boil's head, and after impact, West stepped back, almost as casually as he had strolled across the gym at the start of the fight. The cocoon of calm surrounding him cracked slightly, and he winced. The expression was gone almost as soon as it had appeared. West really hated this ability.

Yin did not necessarily think he was strong, not anymore, but he was not weak either. He knew that much. And he certainly was not going to back down from a spar. Not today. Even if the other boil seemed to just think he was going to go down completely without a fight.

The fist came toward his head, slamming into his jaw, and Yin was fairly positive he heard something give. Not enough to truly be broken but...perhaps a fracture. Or something. Something had certainly given way.

That was not going to stop him. He swung out with his other fist, noting that his punches were not doing much damage but at least they were connecting. At least he was still fighting.

Initially I typed "He sung out with his other fish." I think the surprise factor would have gained him the advantage :/

The demon didn't make a comment in response to Yin's punch, at least not a verbal one.  He lashed out with a clumsy kick followed by a not so clumsy punch, then shook his head and backed away, some measure of sense returning to his eyes.

"I, um..."  Well, he wasn't going to say he was sorry for calling the other boil weak because he wasn't.  He was kind of sorry for that punch though.  It never seemed quite right to beat on people with his brain all clear like that, but still he did it anyway.

West clenched his fists in front of him instead of finishing his thought, waiting for the injured boil to strike back.

The kick that came at him was clumsy and awkward, but it was just enough to get him unbalanced enough that even though he saw the fist coming at his jaw he could do nothing to block or deflect it. He thought he heard something crack, and he was quite literally seeing stars.

The boil in front of him was blurring and he took a staggering step forward, reaching out to scratch with his claws, hitting first empty air where he had seen Wet but the boil was not there, and then finally feeling something connect.

"C'mon, is that all ya got!" West swatted Yin's hand away as it hit him, barely returning the gesture himself. He hadn't actually thought the kid weak, it had all been a taunt, but now...

Now that his head had cleared somewhat he was actually able to see the demon. But that was not what was getting to him. Was that all he had? No. He could do more. He would do more.

He raised his leg until his knee was parallel to his hip as he pivoted and tried a sidekick, quickly snapping his leg out. He would not go down without a fight.
