The time is in the Feudal era of Japan, where war and demons are common in day to day life. If the regions aren't at war, then they are being plagued by demons or both. There are myths of the mystical Yasakani no magatama, a bejeweled necklace of magatamas offered to Amaterasu (the goddess of the sun, but also of the universe), being stolen. On the pursuit of the shamed criminal, it was said that he fell off of a steep mountain, taking the precious necklace with him. But upon arriving to the sight of his death, they couldn't find the man or the precious necklace.

There are rumors that demons stole away his body and the relic to get back the goddess for shunning them from the world years ago. This occurrence of the thief's death was the first time they had appeared in a century. Now that they're back the world is terrified and pray for a resurrection of their goddess's power.

But the goddess, Amaterasu, was in a weakened state still from the last time she defeated the god of the demons, and she needed help. Years after the thievery, she sent out a mental message to the finest warriors of the time. The ones with the most knowledge of battle, power and honor, and what it takes to fulfill the most deepest desires of their hearts, which was darkened from their shadowed past. So to these warriors were promised the one wish of their hearts. The catch? Only one warrior is granted their wish, but they don't know this. Neither do they know that each of them are the descendants of this goddess herself.

Accepted Profiles

Warriors Under Amaterasu

1. Username: Rayne Engel
Character name: Hotaru
Name meaning: "firefly"
Gender: Female
Race: demon/human
Age: 21
Bio: Hotaru was found my a wondering monk in a forest of death and demons. The man quickly saved her life, knowing she wasn't just human from her snow white hair and deep burgundy eyes that seemed to glow like a flame. He named her for that glow, and she grew up by his side, always adventurous and free-spirited. When she was 15, they met a samurai. The monk and him had the same destination, and so they decided to partner for the trip. The girl became fascinated with the what he called the "art of the sword" and she convinced him to teach her. They were attacked by demons on a path one day, and the samurai she began to befriend was dying, and her father was already dead. He gave her his sword, and she slayed the demons with misery empowering her. Since then Hotaru has wondered alone, and slayed many creatures and demons. She was unaware of the demon inside her until the goddess Amaterasu contacted her, asking for help, and informing her that other warriors will know this destiny too, and they can all aid each other in the search.
Weapon description: The sword was pasted down from her befriended samurai that she knew as a child that is now her soul-bound weapon. It scolds anyone who touches it other than her. She also pockets a few short knives. She also has demonic power passed down from her demon heritage. This gives her an supernatural senses, reflexes, speed, stamina and strength.
Other: in her picture she has like four swords. In reality she only has one.
Picture/description: Hotaru

2. Username: Ty Gwynnia
Character name: "Shoukyaku"
Name meaning: Redemption
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 26
Bio: Shoukyaku grew up as a boy named Kou Sato in a mountain range far removed from the troubles of the world. He and his family lived in a small village, but his childhood was far from enjoyable. He father was an abusive drunkard and his mother rarely stood up for herself or her son. Kou repeatedly tried to run away yet he always seemed to be caught, until one night when his father's gambling debts landed him in jail. Knowing that his mother would no doubt try to bail her husband out, or go live with her relatives instead, Kou snuck out during the night and fled. His meager supplies only lasted him for so long, but it was enough to take him to a new home. In the shallow dip of a valley between the peaks there prospered a city where the fields were yellow during the height of summer and the fall harvest and the silver-barked trees themselves bore golden leaves. Kou was fascinated with all of the wonders, and begged the masters of the fighting school there to take him in. They agreed, and he trained ardously until the time came that he would choose between the three paths: monk, samurai, and ninja. He desperately wanted to be a Wind-dancer, a ninja, but he failed all of the entrance tests and had to be settle with being a Sun-guard, a samurai. He served his duty well enough, especially glad to be one of the esteemed guards to the Wind-dancer sanctum. It came to be that he entered the service of a young noblewoman and the two fell in love. Tragedy struck when the woman died because of an accident that laid blame completely on his shoulders, and he was exiled from his beloved homeland. Kou was stripped of his name that day, and he took one that would reflect his new path. Years later, Shoukyaku the ronin heard the goddess's plea for help, and was glad for once that his masters had chosen exile for him rather than honorable seppuku.
Weapon description: He wields one katana, bright-bladed and dark-hilted, and a long, red bamboo pole. The pole magically extends or contracts when the wielder wishes it to, and can stretch up to 10 feet. A skinning knife hangs on his belt next to a straight-bladed dagger that he never uses but knows full well what it's for.
Other: He enjoys wood carving with a small knife.
Picture/description: Shoukyaku stands a little shorter than the average height of most human males, and his tanned body is in good shape because of his constant training. His waist-length hair is strangely reminiscint of the color of honey and kept in a neat braid and his warm brown eyes reflect an optimism that he's happy to share with others. He wears the armor that a samurai would traditionally, but he normally fights without his helmet on.

3. Username: Transformersgirl13
Character name: Karasu
Name meaning: Raven
Gender: female
Race: Human
Age: 20

Weapon description: She has a Katana and can sometimes summon a Claymore using ancient magic due to a family necklace.
Other: she likes to talk to animals and can understand many, mainly birds, and she'll fight for her friends under and cause.
Picture/description: Karasu

4.Username: Strifer Garuwashi
Character name: Rounin
Name meaning: Vagabond or Wanderer
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 26
Bio: Little is known about Rounin, however it is known that he simply wanders. It is known that he seems to be fairly non-violent, but is a very skilled warrior.
Weapon description: Rounin wields the legendary Masamune, which gives him enhanced strength and speed due to a magical enchantment.
Other: N/A
Picture/description: Rounin

Demon King and His Entrusted Members

1.Username: Ty Gwynnia
Character name: Kokutan
Name meaning: Ebony
Gender: Male
Race: Demon
Age: Looks to be in his late-twenties or early thirties, but as old as Amaterasu
Bio: Kokutan's existence has and most likely will always be eternal until the universe's time is up. He is a necessary evil, for if he was killed the world would be unbalanced, and he knows it. This lead him to look into extremes for fun, and that pretty much includes antagonizing the other gods. Sure his semi-brash actions may have him ordering his armies to slaughter a hundred or so mortals, or to kidnap such and such, which oftentimes casts him into captivity (the equivalent of being bed-ridden), but those are really the only sources of enjoyment for him these days. Not even the thought of his son trying to usurp him, were he to plan it, sours his mood one bit. Behind his facade is a mind that calculates strategies and lusts for power. Only one thing had honestly spurned him and has him constantly thinking ahead, and who alone is it but the lovely Amaterasu herself! However, his recent defeat at her hands has left him considerably weaker than normal, although still a threat.
Weapon description: His main weapon is a heavy spear with a large kris-blade in place of a spearhead. An ashen trail streaks and hangs in the air with every sweep he makes, not quite opaque. He can also detach one of the metal plates depicting a smiling or scowling face from his armor and use it as a buckler or fling it like a disc.
Other: Kokutan has a grim yet somewhat blithe pessimism about his and others' situation in life, and rules with an iron fist over his subjects.
Picture/description: Kokutan

2.Username: Rayne Engel
Character name: Hekeriki
Name meaning: Thunder
Gender: Male
Race: Demon
Age: appears to be in early 20’s but is a few hundred years old.
Bio: Hekeriki, or Riki for short, is the son of the demon god. He has been loyal to his father his whole life and will do anything he can to assure his father’s safety. Most of his close friends wonder why he hasn’t tried to take over yet, but he was never honest about his lazy side. He liked not having to constantly worry about every demon in existence. His main job was to watch over a certain area of demons under his strict command, which was the demon god’s best army.
Weapon description: The seemingly simple katana had a stone that gives it demonic powers. The stone is the only of its kind and it enables the katana to warp into any kind of weapon he wields it, including a bow with unlimited fire arrows.
Other: He quite love the ladies, and him and Hotaru may or may not be connected in some way.
Picture/description: Hekeriki

3. Username: Orcus Fieres
Character name: Hono Atama, Kishu
Name meaning: Flame-headed Horseman
Gender: Male
Race: Demon
Age: Seemingly thirty four when the fires die out.
Bio: Kishu was one of the finest generals the Demon Lord could spawn and he was the last to break line in the battle against Amaterasu’s forces ages ago. With the dwindling power of the goddess and the return of his fellow demons he takes the front lines once again to wage war on those who would forsake his kind. He seeks, in great part, to avenge the loss he suffered and his victory now is paramount.
Weapon description: Kishu, like any good soldier, carries his favourite spear into battle. Kenso is a lance with two bladed prongs at a head and, while heavy, is perfectly balanced. Kenso catches fire just as Kishu does, but its eel-skin wrappings never wither or fade.
Other: Kishu is a powerful horseman with a powerful horse of eight legs and two curling horns on its head named Suberi.
Picture/description: A tall man of grey beard and hair with dull rust-coloured eyes. He wears armour of other worldly metals and leathers fashioned into a gothic field-plate suit with a noticeable larger pauldron and gauntlet to his left, as if to be a shield arm. On the back of his armour is a heater shield inlaid with pictographs and runes older than most new-age gods. Under this shield sits Kenso

4. Username: Strifer Garuwashi
Character name: Raiko
Name meaning: Lightning
Gender: Male
Race: Demon
Age: Appears to be mid 20's, but is as old as Hekeriki
Bio: Raiko is Riki's closest and oldest friends, as they have been friends since birth. While Hekeriki was always stronger, Raiko was the quick one, both of them being equally deadly. When working together there is said to be no other demon team which is better. While many of Hekeriki's friends wonder about him, Raiko knows him without a doubt.
Weapon description: Raiko uses a ninjato, which is in a regular katana sheath. It allows him to decieve his foes and draw his blade quickly. He also carries with him a number of shurikens. How only power is to creat up to three shadow clones. They can move act and speak independently of Raiko, but they can not harm anyone, and the moment they are hit with an attack the disappear.
Other: Raiko is know for being mischievous, and toying with his enemies using his great speed.
Picture/description: Raiko

A strong wind blew in the grassy fields as two children chased after one another. Carried on that wind was their laughter, ringing like bells that would make anyone just stop to admire the innocence and beauty of the scene. But, as the old saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Without warning dark storm clouds came rushing in over the meadow, covering the kids in shadows. They looked to each other as rain started to dribble down, silent for a moment before laughing out "I'll beat you to the village!" The boy said as he started running. The girl laughed and followed, the darkness of the horizon hiding the smoke that billowed from behind some trees.

They stopped a ways from the town once the smell of burning wood and flesh hit their small nostrils, making their joy break into fear. The two children unwittingly approached their home, finding it in ruins as imps and demon's ran about, slaughtering their neighbors and friends. Before the boy could calm the girl, she was screaming, drawing a demon's attention. They were frozen as it slowly approached, its faced masked in darkness with the flames billowing behind him. It was pouring rain now, but nothing could put out the chaos that struck this small village. Nothing could wash away the blood of that boy's friend as he watched her be eaten alive.

My warriors... My defenders of the weak... The goddess's voice rang out in the minds of her four soldiers, each one seeming to pause, as it had been a while since the goddess contacted either of them. It was the same storm clouds that covered the village that covered each of them. ...You are all closer than you think... It wasn't long after her words finished that a strong wind wrapped around them, bringing the stench of death and they felt a tug that pulled all of them towards the village smothered in flames. Go! Bringing my light unto the darkness!

Atop a hill overlooking the burning village stood, trotting and swaying, a great eight legged shire which seemed already drunk in revelry of this victory. Beside the stead, a tall man of matching white mane and great stature. His eyes burned, very literally, with the embers of a red fire which had just died out. "To the stables." The man handed the reigns of the great beast to a goblin; less than half the man's size and terrified of the horse as if it were a man eater, the little demon took the leather straps with a yelp before attempting to draw the animal toward some temporary stables nearby. The horse only compromised after having kicked the small goblin halfway across the village.

The man, embers now dying out, sat inside a general's tent, waiting for warrior demons on the ground to report back what the more feral beast demons were able to kill and burn. He looked over a map momentarily before one small, pitch black humanoid stepped into the tent, handing a report to the man clad in military garb. A quick once over was enough. "Continue our pillage. Recall the feral gremlins. The forward team will march to the forest between this and the next town. They will set up camp." These were orders the pitch black demon carried out immediately and expressly, allowing the general another sit down in wait.

Shoukyaku paused as first the goddess's words echoed in his mind, and then the putrid stink of blood and cooked meat assaulted him, stirring the stray hairs of his hone-colored braid. The knife that had been steadily chipping away with measured precision stopped as well, the half-finished carving in the block of wood forgotten for the moment. It was not a pleasant smell, and nor were her words comforting as they had been in the past. There was urgency in them, almost palatable as if they were pulling him in the direction the breeze had come.

The wooden block was returned to his weatherworn pack as well as the knife to its sheath. It was not a time to tarry, he knew, but his quick steps along the road still felt slowed as if time had already run out for the poor souls on the other side of the wind. Even if there was no one left to bring light to, he decided underneath the storm cloud-filled sky, at least their killers would be paid in kind.

Rounin's feet carried him slowly, but surely down the green path. His sandals ensured that his feet would not be troubled with the dirt of the path as the breeze lazily blew his hair towards his left side. He smiled at nature for a mere moment, allowing his feet to carry him without will before his thoughts were interrupted. A heavenly voice spoke to him her words bestowed unto him, the sound as elegant as any song. My warriors... My defenders of the weak......You are all closer than you think...Go! Bringing my light unto the darkness! Though the sound was elegant, the words were not. In a matter of moments a putrid smell filled his nostrils, a familiar smell he wished to dismiss from his memory. The eyes that had stared at the world in wonderment of it's beauty moment ago now became crisp and sharp with awareness. Rounin felt the tug on his soul, and began to run towards it, not knowing how far or how long he had to go, but his senses should alert him to danger. If it was the will of the Goddess, then he must follow, regardless of his own promises.

Hotaru was sitting in a tree, her mind wondering to different things. She had much she wondered about as she rested. She usually slept during the day as it increased the number of demons she would be able to kill at night. It was also safer. She watched the storm clouds that suddenly moved overhead, wondering where they came from. Her eyes closed as she started to relax. Right before she fell into a light sleep she heard a voice in her head. She rubbed her head, the demon in her always slightly repulsed by hearing the goddess' voice, but she dealt with it because she hated the fact she was even a demon to begin with.

She tried her best as to ignore the stench as she stood up, adjusting her clothes and sword before she started leaped, landing on the next tree branch. She kept this up, jumping from branch to branch swiftly as a bird flying through the leaves. She was approaching the place fast, realizing she was quite close to where all this was happening. "How did I not know? It was so near. It wasn't long before she saw a small demon scurrying under her. She dropped from the trees, her sword out and slicing through him before he knew she was even there. "Filthy." She mumbled as she swung her sword, clearing it of the blood, before she continued to make her way to the village.

Who were the other warriors, Shoukyaku wondered briefly as he turned his fast walk into a light jog, his armor clinking with each jolt. Although he should have been mentally preparing himself for whatever scene and bloodshed awaited him at, quite literally, the end of the road he was on, the thought still jammed into his mind and refused to budge until it was processed. Of course he knew that the goddess would employ other warriors, perhaps just as capable as he was, but he'd never come across them in the years following the first time he'd heard her speak.

Traveling and battling alone was quite...lonely. He'd enjoy being able to meet new faces, even if they met on the battlefield. Soon enough, his feet brought him within seeing distance of the smoke rising into the sky, almost as dark as the clouds, and the smell grew much stronger the more upwind he went. He loosened his blade in its sheath.

(I'm going to get in on the action as some demons, if you don't mind. Kishu is on the other side of a village filled with demons, after all.)

While silent at first, the woods nearest Hotaru became wild with fidgeting shadows that jumped from tree to tree beside her. Within moments these shadows became the bodies of massive spiders crawling from the thicker woods, giving chase to Hotaru, jaws open and numbered a dozen total. They were fast, fast enough to keep a steady pace with her. As the nearest village hut came closer and closer the Spiderlings slowed and turned to raise their abdomens, shooting a thick line of web which loosened in the air and became a large net of webbing.

Shoukyaku was close enough to begin seeing these Spiderlings as well, and they followed him closely, but these did not change pace as they neared the village, rather they tried leading him in farther to a large group of small, bipedal demons of pure black save for fires lit along their chests and hands. The Infernals turned to face the warrior and began a quick sprint down the road to meet their Spiderling allies and their next meal.

(( Not at all that will make it more interesting I may do it as well. and just to let you all know, I just found my cat, Latte, dead. So if my replies suck I'm sorry. ))

Hotaru glanced around her, smiling as the demons started to form into spiders. She had always hated spiders. The half-demon was too focused on the spiders closest to her that she ran straight into the webbing, getting caught. "Damnit!" She yelled out, ripping her arm that held her sword loose before cutting herself down. She landed with a roll, before jumping, finding her placing up in a branch with three spiders, hacking all three with one swift movement. These things were just play things. It was just as easy as squashing normal spiders. Hotaru's eyes scanned over the grey forest, seeing more spiders, but she was looking to see if anyone else was here yet.

Rounin's pace increased as he could feel the tug grow stronger. The pull had him turn off the path, and when he reemerged onto another one a white haired woman fell from the trees above, she was far enough down the path, that Rounin needed to sprint to close the distance. However she landed gracefully, before hopping up to the branches, as her sword slashed through the air, three shows fell to the ground before dispersing. More spiders hopped towards her. Rounin finally began his sprint to close the gap, this time taking a leap himself, appearing in the center of the spider group. Rounin's sword never left it's sheath, but swung quickly, and with three quick blows three shadow spiders screeched before splatting on the ground with significant force. The rest spread out in a circular formation around him, as though they were a pack of wolves hunting their prey. Rounin kept his speed as he continued to hop from branch to branch, and before long the spider's made their pounce. The chosen warrior made his last jump a bit shorter than the last, missing a branch and landing on the path below. The spiders collided with one another and fell to the path just behind him. With a fury of blows, the blade of his sword never seeing the light of day, the spiders all turned into splats on the ground. He turned to face the white haired woman, obviously another chosen, and smiled at her. His smile was as soft as a lazy wind's breeze. "Unfortunately we do not have much time to speak, we must press on." With that said he let out a quick breath before pressing on deeper into the village.

Karasu was running, she had been startled by the Goddess's words, at first, but now she ran with all her might to the village. Her hand was on her Katana Ready to pull it out at the sight of the first Demon. She jumped onto a rock, pulling out her Katana, she sliced a Demon's arm off. It roared at her but she didn't back down. She continued to attack it until it no longer moved then she once again ran to the village. She had been a the meadow to the north of the village when the Goddess spoke to her. Karasu would not fail her.
