When the students arrive at Moira's shack, they find the school janitor waiting for them, a big, bright smile on her face. "Hello, spookies!! Ready to move up a year, huh? You're all growing up so fast!!" Is... is she getting misty-eyed? She totally is.

"Okay! Come with me, spookies~ and I'll test your mettle!" The headcrab zombie turns and heads not into her shack, but into the large warehouse just next to her home. For a moment, the students are assaulted by the sound of Trashbots in operation, retrieving and processing all the refuse that Amityville Academy produces - but, thankfully, Moira doesn't go out into the processing area. Instead, she makes a sharp right and opens up a door set into one wall: a door leading to a well-lit tunnel that goes down, down, down.

Finally, Moira opens another door - a door that clearly has a smaller door set into it. A cloud of steam billows out. This room is in every way the opposite of the trash processing area above, smelling clean and fresh. With tiled floors and a line of small but perfectly clean tubs set against the wall, this room could only be for bathing!

A line of sullen, dirty gnomes stands at grumpy attention.

"All right, spookies! My gnomey friends... they just get so dirty," Moira sighs, looking at the gnomes as if they are children who have gone astray in some way. "But we have to keep them spick and span, so even if the Headmistress herself calls for one, they'll be ready!! Sooooo~ your test is to get them clean!" The zombie claps her hands and beams. "And you, spookie-" She points at Mitsu. "Since you're extra-super-special Hob-material, you get something extra once you finish helping! So don't leave too soon, or I can't pass you on!!"

She steps back and gestures at a table covered in towels, bars of soap, loofahs, and a few rubber dubbits. "Have fun~~!"

EXAM MECHANICS:

You must wrangle and bathe as many gnomes as you can! This phase of the exam, which both of you must complete, has two stages. After this phase is over, please wait for Moira to announce pass/fail before moving on: Sura, as Y1->Y2, must only complete this phase. Mitsu, as Y2->Y3, has an additional battle-oriented exam to complete after this one, which I will post mechanics for at that time.

Phase One: Capture

You know that neat line of gnomes? Yeah, as soon as the ghouls go for the bath stuff, they scatter, though since Moira's blocking the door they can't go far! Before you bathe 'em, you gotta catch 'em...

Dice Mechanics

Roll 1d6 - you have a base of 4 turns to collect as many gnomes as you can!


1: You slip on the tile floor and fall into a tub yourself! It takes you a while to get out of the water... (+0 gnomes; -1 turn!)

2: You manage to snag a single gnome by the waistband of his pants. (+1 gnome)

3: You heroically curl a towel into a rat-tail and trip two gnomes. (+2 gnomes)

4: You skid a bar of soap across the floor and trip two gnomes! Unfortunately, you slip yourself and take a while to get back up. (+2 gnomes, -1 turn!)

5: You knock out a gnome using a loofah as a blunt weapon. (+1 gnome)

6: A gnome trips you. You manage to snag him in retaliation, but ow! (+1 gnome, -1 turn!)

Note that if you get a -1 turn on your third roll, that means you cannot roll again. If you get -1 on your last roll, you must instead have a single gnome escape your grasp.

Phase Two: Bathing

So now that you have all these gnomes (and should you finish Phase One with no gnomes, you may assume Moira dumped two gnomes into your tub for you), you can throw them into a tub! Now it's time to get them clean...

The gnomes (no matter how many there are, all counts are for the tub-o-gnomes as a whole) start with a -30 Cleanliness Quotient. Your goal is to get them back up to positive numbers! Please do RP the gnomes as struggling and being generally rude, though they can't escape the tub.

Dice Mechanics

Roll 1d8 - you have a base of 6 turns to raise your gnome tub's CQ!


1: The gnome(s) thrash and splash and get soapy water into your eyes. It stings! (+0 CQ; -1 turn!)

2: You grimly pin down the gnome(s) and scrub them with the loofah. (+5 CQ)

3: Bubble bath! You slosh some into the tub, and soon the gnomes are lost in a sea of bubbles. It gets them cleaner, but... you can't see them for a few minutes? Oh jack, what are they doing in there?! (+15 CQ; -1 turn!)

4: You bump into a switch on the side only for the tub's jacuzzi function (!) to activate. The gnomes are smacked about and stunned by the sudden jets. (+0 CQ, +1 turn!)

5: Bath salts might help! You pour them in, and a sweet scent rises from the water. When the gnomes pause to inhale, you get in some extra shampooing. (+10 CQ)

6: You locate a washcloth shaped like a scareon. Its cuteness charms the gnomes enough that they permit you to wash behind their ears. (+10 CQ)

7: You squeak the rubber dubbit, and the gnomes fall into a silent stupor as if hypnotized by the sound. You get some scrubbing in while they're out! (+10 CQ; +1 turn!)

8: You flip some cucumber slices over the gnomes' eyes. Fair enough. (+5 CQ)

If you roll something that's -1 turn on your last turn, it has no effect. Lucky you!

When you are finished with both phases, quote me for Moira's attention. In your final post, put the number of gnomes you caught and the CQ for your gnome tub. Your pass/fail is decided based on how many gnomes you caught and how well you cleaned them! Moira will announce pass/fail at the end.

Sura had regarded the exam notice rather curiously, to be honest, looking it over with some confusion. Exam..wait, exams were important. She definitely would have been well advised to go and actually be there as soon as possible rather than taking a leisurely stroll down by the lake before hand or something.

Still, Sura had never met Moira before and found herself regarding the headcrab zombie curiously, her eyes flashing between several colors, as she followed after the Janitor. She really was a strange and curious individual, after all.

The inside of the warehouse seemed to be, to Sura, her sort of place - dirty. Truly, as a wild beast, she'd never actually heavily considered cleaning to be something she did. She couldn't even fuss laundry correctly. Yet, she passed a look to the lupine ghoul who had also been summoned to this little meeting they were having. She'd seen her in a place or two before.

Hmm, where, though?

The clean looking room seemed to actually cause Sura the smallest amount of unease, expressed through a yellow flicker in her eyes before she calmed again. It was just a room, though she seemed to track in the faintest amount of grime in with her. In fact, one of the gnomes might have commented that Sura probably needed as much of a bath as they did.

Which was true.

At the revelation that Mitsu was actually going to her third level of schooling, Sura looked to her curiously. She was examing with an upperclassman then?

She'd have to really do her part of everything well, then to try and match that, even if she didn't get the extra challenge after the -

"Hey!" Sura's voices rumbled and then boomed indignantly as the gnomes scattered, almost like thunder as she suddenly moved towards them to work on some herding. She was like a walking wall - one did not mess with that, but they sure as hell got out of the way. Though one gnome's attempt to get out of the way was a kick to Sura's shins, causing her to slip and tumble onto said gnome.

Which didn't sound like it ended well for the gnome.

[Turn 1

Sura kept one of her arms wrapped around the gnome's neck as she got up, not exerting pressure (as suffocating gnomes was bad), but never the less looking around the room with a calmness that came with knowing that she wouldn't outrun the little suckers.

Which meant she had to herd them instead. Which was easier done when you weren't so monstrously big that they could practically walk between your legs. When one of the gnomes did just that, the colossus brought her tail swinging around to catch it, hearing an 'OOMPH' as they hit.

Sura curled her tail around her second catch to keep them from running any further as well. Okay, two down annddddd.....

[Turn 2

As Sura moved the gnome curled in her tail to her arms, another gnome went running by, and in a rather accidental display of force, Sura took one step to rotate her body, swinging her tail around right into the fleeing gnome with enough force to send it flying. She didn't even wince an 'oops' for it either.

She passed a look over to Mitsu for a moment. "Are they all this fragile?" she inquired before she moved to go and retrieve her accidentally bludgeoned victim, holding all three of the squirming gnomes in her arms like they were squirming minipets.

Mitsu had met Moira before when her headcrab had gotten loose in her room somehow. The janitor seemed nice and very cheerful but she had no idea what the undead might have in mind as far as an exam. With some of the other teachers she could probably guess. Malcolm would equal pets, Savage would equal water and boats, and the Headmistress would equal something painful.

Passing a glance back at the rather tall colossus Mitsu tried to remember where she had seen her last. Perhaps the school play during Christmas? The ghoul was rather large and hard to miss. Hadn't she been wrangling the guy Shun hated?

A small part of her was still trying to remember the details as they passed the processing area. Mitsu didn't seem entirely bothered but did seem glad when they passed it. She was, however surprised to see them entering a room that was the polar opposite of what she had seen so far. Wait.....bath? They had to bath gnomes?

Mitsu remembered gnomes, none of those memories were pleasant.

With Sura already on the move Mitsu saw the issue right away. Despite how they were standing in line for this process they really didn't want to do it. With the large ghoul herding on one end Mitsu came in from the other and well...slipped as she normally did and went soaring only to land on two gnomes. They broke her fall keeping her from completely hurting herself. Good for Mitsu, bad for gnomes.

It took a moment for Mitsu to gather her senses and get back to her feet but with two gnomes captured she knew she needed to collect some of the others. Up again she only managed to run a couple of feet before she tripped on something and went down once again. Whipping her head around she noted the problem, a gnome had stuck his foot out and caught her. The little creature smiled slyly though that smile quickly faded as Mitsu lashed back to grab him. The gnome flailed trying to escape but it was possible Mitsu might have squeezed him a little too hard with her natural strength because he quickly quieted down.

"They may be...." Mitsu said softly looking at the now deflated gnome in her arms. She thought they were sturdier than this.

With three gnomes captured Mitsu moved toward the tub for the next fun adventure....the bath.

It took a bit of effort for Sura to force her armful of gnomes into the tub, rumbling a bit as they pulled at her hair and one of them kicked her right in her other eyes, prompting her to close her external armor over them with a grumble and hiss.

Still, a certain amount of 7-foot-tall Colossus growling did at least keep them somewhat put while she retrieved a loofa and a bar of soap. One of the gnomes seemed to be inclined to play with one of the rubber dubbits, so she gave it that as well..if only to keep it quiet...

However, when Sura came back with a washcloth shaped like a Scareon, there seemed to be a communal awe over the adorable looking thing. Which she was grateful for as she began to scrub behind the gnomes ears. Man, this was a lot of grime. Did her own ears look like this?

Though the fussing with the cleaning was getting some filth off of Sura as well.

[Phase 2:

Turn 1

After she was done scrubbing behind their ears, however, came the fight over the rubber dubbit.

"IT'S MINE!" one yelled, the others grabbed at it and Sura groused, trying to get between the mess so she could keep scrubbing before one of the gnomes shouted out some profanities and then suddenly splashed a bunch of the water onto the Colossus.

Which was far more painful for Sura to have soap in all eight of her eyes than it should have been, growling as she reeled away for a moment to rinse the ones on her chest out - after all, they'd been the ones to actually get suds up.

[Phase 2:

Turn 2

Cleanliness Quotient: -20]  

[Inu-Mitsu]

Despite being small it seemed Mitsu did a well enough job wrangling her three gnomes into the tub. She had them in a bear hug of sorts which kept the struggling to a minimum though the random curse and complaint still reached her ears.

"I....I'm sorry but its for the best..." Mitsu murmured before she tried to place them in the tub gently. That didn't go over well since they began to struggle more as she loosened her hold and PLOP they disappeared under the bubbles....

.....

And didn't resurface. Where were they?

((Phase 2: Turn 1

[Inu-Mitsu]

Waiting for the gnomes to reappear Mitsu looked around the tub at her bathing options and found a scareon shaped wash cloth. It....it was adorable made all the more apparent when she brought it back around and the three gnome heads that had popped out of the bubbles stared at it mesmerized.

They seemed to like it which was all well and good with Mitsu. It gave her the opportunity she needed to clean behind their ears. Smiling she hummed away as she bathed them just like she did with Milo and Ziggy when she wrangled them into a bath.

The return of the Scareon wash-cloth seemed to do some good, however, as Sura again resumed her scrub down with it. She was really getting as clean as all these gnomes were as she worked to clean them up, now wasn't she?

But the fact they didn't fuss with the wash cloth was good for her, even if they did want to pull at her hair as she scrubbed them down. But she could handle a bit of hair pulling. Soap in the eyes was just painful.

[Phase 2:

Turn 3

Cleanliness Quotient: -10]

It seemed the scareon washcloth could only charm the gnomes so long. Mitsu had barely managed to clean behind their ears before the struggling began a new.

"N...Now hold still. Y..you're not done yet." Mitsu whined being a little too forceful as she held the tiny creatures in place.

Mitsu noticed the remaining grim was probably more than the washcloth could handle and set it aside to instead grab a loofah. This would surely do the job! If only they would hold still. Mitsu battled trying to keep all three gnomes in the tub, water and bubbles splashing all over the place while she managed to scrub them here and there. In the end Mitsu was going to be soaked.

Sura just stuck it out with the wash cloth for a little while longer too, having made a point to get a few more rubber dubbits into the tub so perhaps they'd hush up a bit and stop fussing.

As it was, they were at least starting to look presentable. More presentable than she did, anyways.
