Most Egyptologists and archaeologists agree that the main reason for the pyramids was to be the final resting place of the Pharaoh, a monument to his divinity and to help him in the afterlife.

The Celtic did not have a written tradition, and the stories of the Celts were penned by Irish monks (Christians) in the 6th century. It is more likely that the stories we have from the Celts are influenced by Christian tradition then the other way around, also not all of Christianity is Catholic with all that this entails.

You are right on this. The authors of the Bible did not write in favor of other gods, and often equate them with the devil. Take that into consideration when you claim they borrowed entities from other religions such as the Egyptians. =)
Daimon could be a good or a bad spirit in Greek mythology. You have to consider that Greek is not the original language of the Bible, but Hebrew. Sometimes when translating you have to find a word in the new language to convey the meaning and idea of the old. It does not mean that the idea of demons is adopted from Greek mythology. It means the word is. Words do not have fixed inherent meaning in any language. The historical and actual context in which they are used, the literary features that accompany them, the topic they are used to addressed, even who is speaking or writing the words can affect meaning. Which is the case here. |

It's a ******** amazing and well constructed monument. It literally is pinpoint perfect in every way for it's task and it was physically impossible by the level of tech we thought they had back then. About the Christian and Celtic stuff, lol no. The celtics had a semi established religion way before christianity, characters had names, and so on and so forth. Why is it more likely? Because you are a christian and it helps your argument? Seriously, celtic mythology was widespread, it wasn't something that was in a small town then written down later on and influenced by christianity, it was an entity of it's own. I don't think you want to believe this though because it pokes holes that prove the bible is fake. Also I like how you are under the assumption that all demons are bad. Cuz the world is white and black with no gray, right?

There are many in alternative circles who have read that there is little or no evidence suggesting a mortuary function for the Egyptian pyramids. In support of their position, they often cite as evidence the fictional "fact" that no mummies have ever been found in the pyramids, and in constructing elaborate theories in search of a more dramatic function use their conclusions as evidence to prove a non-mortuary function. The problem is that in the construction of their theories they are completely neglecting the archaeological context in which the pyramids sit, the development of their iconographic and religious function, and what the Egyptians themselves had to say about the matter.
The truth of the matter is that there is an overwhelming amount of evidence in support of Egyptologists on this subject. I will make an effort here to outline the reasons for believing that the pyramids were indeed used and designed for funerary purposes (the pyramids were NOT designed as tombs and tombs only, the complex as a whole played a pivotal role in the forwarding of the king's soul to the afterlife and providing sustenance while it was there) .
With only a minimal research, we can quickly scratch the idea that no mummies have ever been found in the pyramids. Indeed, the Egyptians themselves left record of their looting and in those accounts describe what was commonly known about the function of these monuments. We'll leave the literary evidence for later, so lets first address the archaeological evidence in support of the pyramids being used for purposes of interment.
With the transition from mastaba to pyramid came the complex of Djoser, within which sits the Step Pyramid. During investigations in 1821 by Minutoli which involved the clearing out of the network of (intrusive) tunnels and burial chamber, the remains of a gilded sandal and human skull were found. More than 100 years later one of the great Egyptologists, Dr. Jean-Philippe Lauer, discovered pieces of skin, bone from a human left foot and an upper arm. While it is impossible to determine whether or not these remains belonged to the king, what is clear is that even with the first pyramid built in Egyptian history there is evidence for funerary function. However, what strongly suggests that these are indeed the remains of Djoser is the fact that to the northwest of the burial chamber there is massive evidence of tomb robbery including a disturbed wooden chest bearing the name Netjerikhet, Djoser's Horus name.
Djoser's successor constructed one of the more enigmatic pyramid complexes in Egypt. It wasn't until the 1950s that the pyramid of Sekhemkhet was discovered, and if inscriptions on the perimeter wall have anything to say about it, this pyramid complex too was designed by Imhotep. The pyramid was originally excavated by Goneim and when the burial chamber was breached he found a fully intact and sealed alabaster sarcophagus. The type of stone is worthy of further consideration, as only two royal sarcophagi are known to be made out of alabaster; the sarcophagus of Hetepheres I (Khufu's mother) and Seti I (Ramesses the Great's father). Thus, it can be broken down even further to say that only one alabaster sarcophagus is known, in 3000 years of Egyptian history, to house the remains of an Egyptian King. Because of the sealed nature of the sarcophagus Goneim was convinced that it must hold the remains of the king, despite the urging for caution on behalf of his very good friend, Lauer. With much fanfare the press, state officials, television teams and other members of media gathered to watch what they believed would be a momentous moment in history. As Goneim removed the lid everyone was shocked - it was completely empty.
The empty sarcophagus in the pyramid of Sekhemkhet has been used to shore up arguments claiming that pyramids were not used as tombs. What should be considered is the presentation of the sarcophagus in the burial chamber, with dried offerings still on the alabaster lid and the discovery of 3rd dynasty golden bracelets and other jewelry in a vertical shaft just before the burial chamber (along with 26th dynasty demotic papyri) it was obvious, at least to Lauer, that the tomb had long ago been looted.
In 1967 Lauer was heading the investigation of Sekhemkhet's pyramid complex where focus was converging on the recent discovery of the so-called "South Tomb" (Djoser's complex has one as well). It was here, just before entering the burial chamber, that Lauer discovered a wooden coffin with the remains of a male child about two years of age. It is probable that this was Sekhemkhet's son, but the significance for our purposes here is that we have a contemporary burial within a pyramid complex.
So, you're asking, where the heck is Sekhemkhet's mummy? Dr. Edwards and Dr. Lauer both believe that during the onset of the First Intermediate Period and the breakdown of society at the end of the Old Kingdom priests still the service of Sekhemkhet's cult removed his remains for reburial just as the later priests of Amun removed the remains of kings from their tombs in the Valley of he Kings to Deir el Bahri. The dried offerings were, in this case, a respectul gesture to their revered but long deceased king.
The next pyramid for which there is direct physical evidence of primary interment is the Red Pyramid, constructed by Snefru, the founder of the 4th dynasty. Again in 1950 badly damaged and burnt mummified human remains were found in the Red Pyramid. These remains were examined by Dr. Ahmed Mahmud el Batrawi who concluded that these were indeed the physical remains of Snefru, based on the fact that the style of wrappings were consistant with 4th dynasty mummification techniques. In fact, during this period of the Old Kingdom it would have only been members of of the elite who were mummified, and the additional information relating to its burnt condition lends evidence to the belief that they belonged to a member of the royal family. In the process of looting tombs, robbers frequently would break mummies apart and burn the wrappings to quickly access the jeweled amulets contained therein. As we shall see, there is direct literary confirmation of this practice in the recorded confessions of tomb robbers during the Middle and New Kingdoms.
Queen Khentkawes I & II were both figures of incredible importance in the early 5th dynasty. Both mothers of two kings and queens in their own right, they were provided with lavish burials. In fact Khentkawes I's tomb at Giza can be considered the 4th most important tomb on the plateau, next in line to the three great kings (complete with its own pyramid town designated KKT). Indeed, its possible that Khentkawes I ruled as king of Egypt for about two years following the death of Menkaure.
Queen Khentkawes II's pyramid at Abusir is no less significant, and for our purposes here much more interesting. In the ruins of her burial chamber were found a demolished pink granite sarcophagus, burial equipment, and pieces of her mummy wrappings.
The tomb of Khentkawes II's son, King Neferefre, doesn't disappoint in this regard either. In this ruler's burial chamber archaeologists found the remains of alabaster canopic jars, containers for carved offerings and, most importantly of all, significant portions of the king's mummified remains. Anatomical analysis of the remains show that the king was 23 years of age when he died, fitting quite nicely with our understanding of Egyptian chronology.
About 50 metres south of Khentkawes II's pyramid is the enigmatic monument known as Lepsius Pyramid No. 24. While the name of the owner is not known, quarry marks referencing the vizier Ptahshepses date the pyramid to the reign of king Niuserre. Within the ruined burial chamber were found, among the damaged and scattered remnants of burial equipment (including scaled down copper objects used in the "Opening of the Mouth" ceremony), the remains of a 23 year old mummified female. Undoubtedly the owner of the pyramid, it is not known whether she was the consort of the king, or his brother Neferefre.
Moving along but still in the 5th dynasty, we come to the pyramid of Djedkare, Menkauhor's successor. Most fully excavated in the mid-1980s by Mahmud Abdel Razek, this Egyptian team of archaeologists discovered in Djedkare's burial chamber the fragmentary remains of his sarcophagus, canopic jars, and the mummified body of a man aged about fifty. Debris patterns within the pyramid, and the intact nature of the plugging stones, undoubtedly suggest that this must be the body of the king since it was inaccessible to potential tomb robbers.
The last king of the 5th dynasty was Unas, who constructed the first pyramid to include the famous Pyramid Texts (which would evolve through the Coffin Texts into the Book of the Dead). Excavated by Lauer, he disovered the remains of the king's skull, right arm, and shinbone. Also found within the burial chamber were the wooden handles of knives used during the "Opening of the Mouth".
Once again with the pyramid of Teti, the first ruler of the 6th dynasty, we come across evidence of looting involving the use of fire to access precious metals hidden under the wrappings of the mummified king. Under the rubble in the burial chamber the burnt remains of the king's arm and shoulder were discovered. The significance of burning cannot be understated. Intrusive burials generally would not warrant such dedicated attention from thieves and as such the presence of isolated charred human remains should indicate a royal burial.
Teti's mother, Sesheshet, was buried near her son at Saqqara in a pyramid of her own. Excavations of her pyramid have been ongoing for the past two years although it was not known to be a pyramid until late 2008 or early 2009. In February of 2009 the burial chamber was finally entered and the remains of the fully intact, mummified remains of Queen Sesheshet were discovered. The tomb had been looted in antiquity, so the excavating archaeologists were, as can be expected, extremely pleased with their findings.
First investigated at the turn of the century and again in the 1920s, the pyramid is now under investigation by a team of archaeologists led by Dr. Zahi Hawass. When first explored, the queen's burial chamber produced a fine collection of assorted funerary equipment including five limestone canopic jars, fragments of a cedar coffin, an alabaster headrest, a gold bracelet, a necklace, copper utensils, an alabaster tablet with the names of the seven sacred oils, and the bones of a middle-aged woman believed to be the queen.
Generally believed to be the second king of the 6th dynasty, although some Kings Lists insert a king by the name of Userkara between Teti and his reign, Pepi I's burial chamber also included a wonderful collection of burial goods, as well as the first example of the Pyramid Texts found by Egyptologists. Included in the finds were 14 shards of yellow alabaster canopic jars, a scrap of linen with the inscription "Linen for the king of Upper and Lower Egypt, may he live forever", pleated linen, a left sandal, a flint knife, fine linen wrappings, and a portion of a mummy. Within the context of the chamber, the mummy is likely to be that of the king.
Merenre I's burial chamber contained far less burial goods but an incredible almost fully intact mummy of a young boy with hair styled in the manner worn by childern in Egypt. As it is recorded that Merenre I died very young after a short joint rule with his father Pepi I, the mummy is almost positively that of the young boy-king.
With the death of Merenre's brother Pepi II, Egypt enters into a period of civil war, famine, and strife known as the First Intermediate Period. Generally speaking, for the average Egyptian conditions changed little and the break down of centralized control under the power of the king served to democratize aspects of Egyptian culture normally reserved for the elite. For those in power, however, the effects were brutal and it was only through a long and brutal civil war between the Heracleopolitan and Theban kings that order was finally restored by Mentuhotep II. The Egyptians of this newly established "Middle Kingdom" continued to build pyramids and be intered within them. Had the Egyptian pyramid not served as a significant mortuary/funerary edifice for so many centuries there is no reason to believe the kings of the Middle Kingdom would have resumed the construction of major pyramids with such gusto. How, then, can one not associate pyramids with a funerary function? Is it simply because the magical draw of dramatic theories attached to Khufu's pyramid are too entertaining to pass up? Khafre's pyramid is only three metres smaller than Khufu's. Were it three metres taller would all the fanciful shows on TLC, Discovery and the History channel hinting at some lost civilization or unknown technology be directed to Khafre's monument? With each pyramid being so undeniably connected in terms of architectural evolution can we reasonably isolate Khufu's pyramid and say with a straight face, "I'm just trying to learn"?
Lets recap and look at the whole picture in terms of primary physical evidence suggesting a funerary function for the pyramids (there are hundreds of intrusive burials in the pyramids and while they're not considered primary burials, they speak volumes about the widely understood function of the pyramid).
The Literary Evidence:
The admonition texts of the Middle Kingdom are set in large part during the period of unrest resulting from the fall of the Old Kingdom and decentralization of royal authority in Egypt known as the First Intermediate Period. As such, they provide details about the general state of affairs in Egypt during this time and provide witness to the widespread conditions of the period. While facinating in their own right, a few of their accounts are particularily relevant to our discussion here. As the Egyptian state lost overall control of the security of the populance, the monuments and cultic upkeep of former "heads of state" (ie previous kings) were exposed to those same diminishing conditions. It is during this period that the majority of looting took place and the literature set during the time reflects this fact.
The Lamentations of Impuwer (Papyrus 344) states:
See now, fire has leaped high, its flame will attack the land's foes!
See now, things are done that never were before, the king has been robbed by beggars.
See, one buried as hawk is... (1)
What the pyramid hid is empty. (2)
See now, the land is deprived of kingship by a few people who ignore custom.
See now, men rebel against the Serpent, Stolen is the crown of the Sun, who pacifies the Two Lands. (3)
1. This is essentially saying, "look at the state of the buried king". The "hawk" is a reference to the king as Horus.
2. Should be obvious. The pyramid has been looted.
3. This is a direct reference to the king. The "serpent" is the Uraeus, "stolen is the crown of the Sun, who pacifies the Two Lands" relates to the absense of royal authority.
Intef (Horus name translates to: "He who has brought calm to the two lands", hinting at the need for calm during the period) was a Theban ruler during the First Intermediate Period. From his tomb comes the "Song of the Harper":
He is Happy, this good prince:
Death is a kindly fate.
A generation passes,
Another stays,
Since the time of the ancestors.
The gods who were before rest in their tombs,
Blessed nobles too are buried in their tombs.
Yet those who built tombs,
Their places are gone,
What has become of them?
I have heard the words of Imhotep and Hardedef, (1)
Whose sayings are recited in whole. (2)
What of their places?
Their walls have crumbled,
Their places are gone,
As though they have never been!
None comes from there, (3)
To tell of their needs,
To calm our hearts,

1. Imhotep, the vizier of Djoser and Sekhemkhet during the third dynasty. His tomb has never been located and this song may tell us why. Hardedef was the son of Khufu and was buried in a large double mastaba at Giza. He was held to be a great sage, a teacher of moral philosophy and personal development (believe it or not).
2. Both Imhotep and Hardedef were held by the Egyptians to be some of the greatest teachers of their kind. Their works would have been as familiar to the Egyptians of the Old Kingdom and First Intermediate Period as the teachings of our moral or spiritual leaders are today.
3. Their tombs have been destroyed, their soul can no longer come and go.
If the tombs of these most revered of men could be destroyed, what then became of the tombs of the kings whose existance maintained the spiritual, cultural, and geographical integrity of Egypt itself? Any disharmony was seen as the result of a poor king, one who failed to serve as the manifestion of ma'at. In a period of unprecedented turmoil like that during the First Intermediate Period, the blame would fall on not only the current king, but also those of old. The hawk referenced above, the king as Horus, was constantly manifested by the king. All kings were the same Horus whose duty was to uphold ma'at. In other words, if the tombs of the most respected men in Egyptian history to that point were being vandalized, the tombs of the kings were in serious trouble.
In the Leopold-Amherst Papyrus (Dyn. XX) a tomb robber by the name of Amenpnufer admits he "...went to rob the tombs...and we found the pyramid of [king] Sekhemre Shedtaui, the son of Re Sebekemsaf, this being not at all like the pyramids and tombs of the nobles which we habitually went to rob..."
While the account from the Leopold-Amherst Papyrus is a reporting the looting of New Kingdom royal tombs during the 20th dynasty, it depicts a problem that was rampant throughout Egyptian history. The First Intermediate Period provided ample opportunity and a sense of moral justification to loot the tombs of their previous kings. |

The salt is due to tourism.

1. The Law of Cause and Effect. This law of science states that every cause has its effect and every effect has its cause. This law is the basis of all science. As such, this law bears a relationship to the origin of the heavens and the earth. In fact, scientists agree that the universe has not existed forever, that it had a beginning at some point in time.
The theory of relativity which is almost universally accepted among scientists has certain implications for this Law of Cause and Effect. One is that the universe, defined as time, space, matter, and physical energy had a beginning, that it is not eternal. And it is through Einstein’s equations that scientists can trace the development of the universe back to its very origin, back to what is called the “singularity event” when it actually came into being. Science has proven that the universe really did have a beginning. This obviously means that if the universe had a starting point in history, then it obviously began to exist, and it must have a cause for its existence.
Therefore, if the universe needs a cause for its coming into being, then that cause must be beyond the universe—which is time, space, matter, and physical energy. That cause must be something similar to what Christians call “God.” Even Richard Dawkins, probably the most prominent proponent for atheism of our modern times, admitted in a “Time” magazine article that “there could be something incredibly grand and incomprehensible and beyond our present understanding.” Yes, and that is God!
We can best summarize this cosmological evidence with the following statements:
1. Whatever begins to exist must have a cause for its existence.
2. The universe began to exist.
3. Therefore, the universe must have a cause for its existence.
4. The attributes of the cause of the universe (being timeless, existing outside of space, and so on) are the attributes of God.
5. Therefore, the cause of the universe must be God (Genesis 1:1).
2. The Law of Teleology is the study of design or purpose in natural phenomena. This law of science essentially means that when an object reflects a purpose, goal or design, it must have had a designer. Simply put, things do not design themselves. This holds true for the things in the universe which proves that it had to have a Designer.
For example, the earth in orbiting the sun departs from a straight line by only one-ninth of an inch every 18 miles—a very straight line in human terms. If the orbit changed by one-tenth of an inch every 18 miles, it would be vastly larger and we would all freeze to death. If it changed by one-eighth of an inch, we would be incinerated. The sun is burning at approximately 20 million degrees Celsius at its interior. If the earth was moved 10% further away, we would soon freeze to death. If it was moved 10% closer, we would be reduced to ashes. Are we to believe that such precision “just happened”? Think about it: the sun is poised at 93 million miles from earth, which happens to be just right. Did this happen by chance or by design? It’s no small wonder that the Psalmist alludes to God as the grand designer when he declared: “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other” (Psalm 19:1, 6).
3. The Laws of Probability and Fulfilled Prophecy. There are 1,093 prophecies in the Bible that refer to Jesus and His Church, and each one of those prophecies was fulfilled! The Old Testament contains 48 prophecies that pertain to the crucifixion of Jesus. When applying the laws of probability to calculate the likelihood of several events taking place at or near the same time, all probabilities have to be multiplied together. For example, if the probability of a single event occurring randomly is 1 chance in 5 and the probability of a separate event occurring is 1 chance in 10, then the probability that both events will occur together or in sequence is 1 in 5 multiplied by 1 in 10 which yields 1 in 50.
In considering the fact that several different prophets who lived in separate communities over a span of a 1,000 years made predictions of Christ 500 years before His birth, the odds against these prophecies coming true are simply beyond our wildest comprehension. For example, the chances of one man (Jesus) fulfilling just 8 of the prophecies attributed to Him are one in 10 to the 17th power (that’s a number with 17 zeroes).
Consider this: imagine covering the entire state of Texas with silver dollars to a level of two feet deep. The number of silver dollars needed to cover the whole state would be 10 to the 17th power. Drop one of those silver dollars marked with an “X” from an airplane and thoroughly stir all the silver dollars all over the state. Then blindfold a man and tell him he can travel wherever he wishes in the state of Texas. Then somewhere along the way, stop and reach down into the two feet of silver dollars and pull up the one silver dollar that has been marked. What are the chances of his doing this? The same chance the prophets had of eight of their prophecies being fulfilled in any one man in the future.
The Bible with all its fulfilled prophecies proves the existence of God. Through the law of probability and the mathematical odds of prophecy being fulfilled we can know assuredly that there was a divine Designer and Author of the Bible. The same One who brought into existence the universe. “You may say to yourselves, ‘How can we know when a message has not been spoken by the LORD?’ If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the LORD does not take place or come true, that is a message the LORD has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously” (Deuteronomy 18:21-22).
Finally, God, the Creator of the universe and author of our salvation tells us: “Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please” (Isaiah 46:9-10).

Enzymes
Cells don’t live long and the materials of which they are made decompose, so cells could not exist if they had to wait around for their essential chemical reactions to take place at their normal speeds. To solve this problem, God made speeder-upper proteins called enzymes. They catalyze chemical reactions, making chemicals combine (or break apart) millions of times faster than would otherwise be the case. They also help them combine in ways that will make exactly the right compounds for each situation.
To do this, each enzyme must fold into a shape that will fit perfectly with the chemical it is speeding up. Even evolutionists usually compare this to the way a key fits into a lock. Enzymes are able to flit from one molecule to another in a split second. An extreme case: one molecule of an enzyme called catalase can take apart 40 million molecules of hydrogen peroxide each second! Interestingly, most enzymes will only work with one specific chemical reaction, so huge numbers of different enzymes are popping up all of the time, each “key” in the right “lock.” The new enzyme does its thing in a split second, and it’s out of there!
No “first cell” (or any subsequent cell) could have lived without being able to deliver many speeder upper enzymes to just the right places at just the right times because the chemicals that cells are made of decompose much more rapidly than the proper chemical reactions could happen without enzymes, if the needed reactions would happen at all.
In addition, the amino acids which link together to form proteins must all be of the left handed variety. Those that form outside of cells are all half right handed and half left handed, so they will not work in living things. Not only that, when all are left handed, they tend to gradually return to half and half. Spontaneously, one here and one there, they flip! No way is known by which all left handed amino acids could have accumulated to make up the proteins of the theoretical first cell, but had there been an initial supply, without enzymes to speed the chemical reactions, many of the left handed amino acids would have become right handed before the needed reactions could take place. That is one reason we know that no cell could ever have formed by the random action of unguided chemicals.
Pathways
Cells use many big complex chemicals that cannot be formed by just mixing the right elements together. Making these materials from the nutrients that enter a cell usually takes a number of steps which must be taken in a particular order called a “pathway.”
A simplified example makes the process easy to understand: We will call a chemical the cell needs “ABCD” because its elements must be put together in that order. If you just mix them, A will react with D or C so ABCD cannot be made. To form ABCD, a helper chemical called an enzyme must first attach A to B, making AB. Then C becomes available and another enzyme attaches AB to C making ABC. After that, D becomes available, and a third catalyst attaches D to ABC, making ABCD.
Many pathways have eight or ten steps that must be taken one after another in the proper order, helped at each step by by the proper catalyst. For a cell to live, it must have many different chemicals, each doing its part of the cell’s work. The only known way for many of the chemicals in cells to build up is if each one follows its own unique pathway. None of the chemicals that can only be built up following a specific complex pathway can come about by lucky accidents. The evidence indicates that no cell could live unless many chemicals which will only form by following pathways are present and functioning at the same time. If we simply follow the evidence, it brings us to conclude that the information that directs the building of these chemicals was provided by a very intelligent God who knows a lot about chemistry. Obviously, the “prediction” of evolutionists before pathways and enzymes were understood was that slow random normal chemical reactions would have explained the first life.
People whose religion is evolutionary naturalism see the “first life” as a single cell something like a bacterium built up by accident from non living chemicals with the ability to reproduce already in place. They feel that from that first cell eventually evolved the human brain, estimated to contain 10 trillion nerve cells, and so wonderfully coordinated that you can ponder what I am saying even if it may still seem strange to you that I don’t agree with the atheistic indoctrination provided by so many of the public schools and universities. Perhaps the next section will make my viewpoint more compelling.
Machines
Tiny machines do much of the work of every cell. They are called “molecular machines,” or “molecular motors.” Even tiny one-celled creatures must have some of these machines if they are to live. The one that has been known long enough so you have probably heard of it works like a tiny boat motor, driving a microscopic one celled animal through the water.
Every machine known is a product of intelligent design. Did you ever see a train or even a simple wheelbarrow that was not made by somebody? Cells have some machines that do jobs similar to the jobs of trains and wheelbarrows. They transport things from one part of the cell to another. Lets look at a few easy to understand examples of machines cells must have to live.
Even “simple” cells have a covering that encloses them. Otherwise they would just be loose goo dissolving into the water. There’s a problem: The membranes that hold cells together let in water, but keep nutrients out. For a cell to live, its membrane must contain little pumps that are molecular machines made of proteins. Some recognize and selectively pass nutrients in. Others pass wastes out. Unless both the machines that pass nutrients in and those that pass the wastes out are present and functioning, no cell can live.
Show an atheist a simple mortar and pestle made by people living in primitive conditions, and he will immediately recognize that they were produced by intelligent beings to work together. The pumps are made of several specific protein parts, specially folded to work together.
Like these examples, there are many machines that are absolutely necessary. No cell could live if a certain number of them were not present, designed properly, and functioning. This is a fundamental problem to evolutionary naturalism: Darwin wrote, “If it could be demonstrated that any complex organ existed which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down.” {Origin of species, 1872, New York University Press, sixth edition, p 154 as quoted in Reason and Revelation, Sept. 2005} None of us have ever seen any machine just build up by accidental slight modifications without a designer. Many people, however, have been taught to have so much faith in naturalism that they believe that the machines in cells did gradually build up by slight undirected modifications. Were it possible for this to happen, it would not have helped a “first cell” because not one, but many machines must be on line and working at the same time for a cell to live.
What’s more, the materials of which cells are made do not last long after they are made. If even one of the machines a cell could not live without happened to finish building up by numerous, successive, slight modifications a day later than the others that were also essential for the life of the cell, the cell would already be dead. Too late or too early and the cell would have been dead meat. Faith that all these machines came on line with no one directing the process at close enough to the same moment for a first cell to live is more blind faith than should have to be asked of an Atheist.
All of us have seen many machines, and none of us has ever seen any machine that built itself by successive slight modifications undirected by a designer/builder.This makes it obvious that those who believe the machines in cells built up by undirected successive slight modifications did were not influenced by the evidence. A leap of faith taken not because of the evidence but in spite of it brought them to believe that all the machines necessary for a cell to live came about by successive slight modifications. What brings them to take that leap of faith? Many atheists have such a strong commitment to their religion of naturalism that once they have taken that step of commitment, they are willing to accept, more or less without question, all of the sub doctrines that are included.
Strong evidence indicates that a very intelligent designer created even the simplest living beings. It was our loving Creator.
Machines make proteins
Evolution could not begin before life and reproduction, but since schoolbooks package abiogenesis and evolution together, atheists and many other evolutionists have faith that naturally occurring chemicals came together accidentally to form the first cell. For years they believed in the spontaneous formation of proteins from amino acids as the cause of the first cell. However, proteins never form in nature outside of already living cells, partly because each amino acid must be linked in the right order, one behind another to form a chain with no side branches.
Proteins, however, abound! Where do they come from? They are made in living cells by molecular machines. In every cell, a number of RNA and protein molecules fit together to form the machines that make proteins. They line up left handed amino acids, the building blocks of proteins, in the proper order and link them together one behind another like links in a chain. Most proteins have from 50 to a few thousand amino acids, each chosen from 20 different varieties. The machine links them together one after another in the order specified by information in the cell's DNA, an order that is different for each protein.
At the end of each new protein, an address label is slapped on, and the new protein is shipped off to the one place designed for it. During the trip, each protein is folded so that when it arrives, it will fit with the other molecules with which it must work. The folding process is so complex that IBM built Blue Gene, at that time the world’s most powerful super computer, in an attempt to help scientists understand how proteins fold to fit so that they can work together. {http://www.research.ibm.com/bluegene/press_release.html} No molecular machine will function if its proteins are not addressed so they will come to the right place, and folded to fit. Errors not only make a machine useless, but will usually cause a genetic disease. Proteins are the main ingredients of cells and the main parts of most of their machines, so no cell could exist without the machines that make its proteins.
Protein making must be carefully regulated. Otherwise, the machines would make too many of one kind of protein; an easy one for example, and not enough of another. Lack of regulation would kill the cell, so protein making had to be intelligently regulated from the very first.
One type of protein regulation uses specific stretches of DNA called regulatory DNA sequences. The DNA, however, cannot turn protein production on or off by itself. Each regulatory DNA sequence works with a specific protein which folds perfectly to fit the correct spot on the DNA and work with it. DNA and protein working together form a machine that regulates the production of a protein, a switch that turns its gene on and off at the right times. No cell could exist without both the machines that regulate the production of its proteins and the information that lets them know when to turn production on and off. Because the contrary belief put forth by atheists and evolutionists requires faith that many chemically impossible steps did indeed happen, any worldview that depends on it is a false religion.
RNA
When the fact that proteins won’t form in nature outside of already living cells became well known, most whose religion was naturalism easily abandoned their faith that proteins had come together to form life. With no evidence that RNA could form outside of already living cells, they switched without apparent discomfort from faith in the spontaneous formation of proteins to faith in the spontaneous formation of RNA as the producer of the first cell. Most of the older evolutionists who are reading this have made that switch themselves.
RNA has proven to be a most unfortunate choice. It not only won’t form spontaneously in nature, scientists can’t even make it in the laboratory. Not even the ribosome building blocks from which RNA is largely formed, will form outside of already living cells.
Neither will real RNA do the things evolutionists believe the imaginary “primitive RNA” must have done. If it really could do them, why would it then invent proteins and pass the job off to them? If the choice were determined by natural selection, would it not be more scientific to believe that natural selection would have chosen for better and better RNA?
The religion of naturalism has been constructed on a foundation of false science. If you are one who believes it, why not abandon RNA in favor of God, our Creator like you abandoned proteins in favor of RNA?
Reproduction
Another scientific evidence that a first cell could not have been generated spontaneously without a Creator is that each cell must have a way to reproduce. If “the first cell” did not have this ability already fully functional, there would have been no second cell, and without a second cell, no more life, no natural selection, no evolution! Since natural selection could not have been a help until after reproduction was already taking place, the evolutionists only hope up to this point is his faith that the Big Bang, unlike every known explosion, was building order out of chaos, an ordering process that continued through billions of years to build an ever greater order out of a very small chaos.
In reproduction, one copy of a cell's DNA is passed on to its offspring. This is not easy because the DNA is long, thin, and its two strands are tightly twisted together like the strands of a rope. The DNA strands must be untwisted if it is to divide and give one of its strands to its offspring. How does it get one strand separated from the other? Among the machines necessary for reproduction are DNA unwinding machines. Without unwinding machines, regulatory machines, protein making machines, and pumps all present and working at the same time, no “first cell” could have produced a second cell.” What produced them, built the necessary information into them and made everything work together?
Appearance of design
The fact that every known machine is a product of intelligent design, and many machines would have to have been present from the very first is powerful evidence for an intelligent designer/creator. The evidence is so overwhelming that even many who believe in evolutionary materialism admit that cells appear to have been designed. They just have faith that they were not designed. Even the most militant atheists occasionally admit that cells appear to have been designed. Here is a quote by the famous anti creationist atheist scientist Richard Dawkins:
“Biology is the study of complicated things that give the appearance of having been designed for a purpose." Richard Dawkins,” {The Blind Watchmaker, 1988. p. 1.}
I agree with Him, both that the evidence really does make it appear that things were designed for a purpose, and that much of the biology that is taught today is man’s attempt to get around the evidence. The atheist has as his ultimate criterion the religion of naturalism. The evidence must be reinterpreted in a way that is consistent with naturalism rather than accepting the normal explanation of the evidence. The atheist is attempting to convince himself and others that evidence which taken at face value indicates a Creator, must not be taken at face value. Think it through. It will give you a glimpse into the dark realm of the power of the atheist’s religion over science.
Information
The information in cells is information with meaning. Like a complex instruction book, it guides cells in producing widely diverse materials and machines, many of which are far beyond the ability of today’s best scientists to even understand. There is a level of meaningful information that comes only from minds. It is never produced by matter or energy. Many scientists consider meaningful information to be unfailing evidence of an intelligent creator:
•When an archeologist digs up an ancient book, he knows someone wrote it.
•The science of cryptography depends on the ability to distinguish between random code and meaningful messages. If a terrorist receives directions for building an atom bomb in a suitcase, written in a secret code, he can be certain the message came from an intelligent source.
•The SETI Institute uses huge radio telescopes to search for extraterrestrial intelligence. SETI scientists know that if they ever find an intelligent message coming from space, it will prove that there are intelligent beings out there! Meaningful messages are a sure indication of an intelligent source.
The DNA of the simplest bacterium contains huge amounts of complex meaningful information! A tiny fraction of that amount of information coming from space would convince the SETI scientists there were little green men out there somewhere.
A tourist who knows various languages can ask, "Where is the Bathroom?" in English, Spanish, Chinese, etc. The message does not depend on the language in which it is written. It is the same even if every letter in every word of “Where is the bathroom?” in Spanish is different than the letters and words in Chinese. When I speak of meaningful, translatable information, I am purposely narrowing the definition, making the kind of information I am talking about very specific. I must do this, because one person claims ripples in the sand are information, and another claims sunbeams. By making these claims, they have not discovered a clever way to invalidate my thesis, they have just changed the subject. The same evolutionists who deny that higher levels of information exist send their kids to the best schools they can afford. If they really believe what they email me about information, they would just buy the kid a puppy and have him listen to it bark!
DNA shares a characteristic with telegraph, radio, television, computers and paper. The material the information is written on does not dictate the message. Like paper, the same DNA, can carry one message or another.
Where did the information in DNA come from? Some atheists claim that the information in DNA must have evolved from matter or energy. Others claim that it arises from the chemical properties of the material that carries it. A look at information traveling through a computer should help get us all on the same track.
If I download from the internet our old question, “Where is the bathroom?” it comes into my laptop through a modem with a little transmitter that sends it to my computer by a wireless connection. It can enter my laptop in any language. Once inside my computer, the question is no longer written in letters with ink on paper, but has been translated into a two-letter code called zeros and ones. Because the kind of information I am talking about can be coded, it could also have been sent by an old fashioned telegraph. The message is now in my computer’s memory. I save it to my hard drive, and back it up on CDs or DVDs along with my other files. When I print it out, the question moves in the form of some sort of electrical signals through the wire that goes to the printer where it again becomes ink on paper. The meaning of the message did not originate from the CD, the hard drive or the paper in the printer. A new computer with nothing on it yet, if taken off the production line and stored in a museum for 1000 years will never think up any information. It has to get into the computer from somewhere.
Our question, “Where is the bathroom?” is not only the same no matter what language it happens to be written in, but also no matter which material is carrying it at any given moment. We can trace it from the paper that comes out of my printer, all the way back through each step along the way, to its place of origin: A MIND!
Intelligent messages are not composed by hard drives, wires, the airways they pass through, or even by the current that powers them. They are different than these things, and have a different source. They are information!
A message is coded into DNA using the DNA equivalent of letters, words, and language. Like a hard drive, DNA warehouses and recalls huge amounts of information. DNA, however, stores it in the smallest space possible, much smaller than men have ever been able to invent.
The messages of DNA, like the tourist’s question, are real messages that can be translated from the language of DNA into other languages. DNA instructions are, in fact, normally translated into the somewhat different language of the RNA that carries the message from the DNA to the tiny machines that construct the cell’s proteins. The messages of DNA have even been translated into computer language, printed out, and read by scientists!
Another fact comes as a terrible blow to those evolutionists who insist that the information in DNA is determined by the chemical structure of the DNA molecule: People who know how, can write whatever information they want to in DNA. High school student Viviana Risca won a $100,000 scholarship from the Intel Science Talent Search for writing the words: "JUNE 6 INVASION: NORMANDY." Why the prize? She wrote them in DNA, using its chemical code! {Gungan Singha, Popular Science, June 2000, p. 83.} The same message that another person can scribble on a napkin, Viviana Risca and genetic engineers have learned to "write" in DNA.
DNA itself does not make any of the proteins or other substances a cell needs. It calls up messages from its storage and sends them by RNA messenger service to other parts of the cell that follow the instructions to do the actual work. DNA information for making proteins is routinely translated into RNA which carries each set of instructions to the machine that will make that protein. There the instructions are carried out: In most cases from 50 to 1000 left handed only amino acids are lined up in order, each amino acid in the right position to make that particular protein. The machine then links the amino acids together in a long chain with no side branches. Are you beginning to see why no real proteins are ever formed in nature except by cells?
If you are an atheist, you can run, but you can’t hide! The information that comes from your telephone, computer, or your DNA, was not a mindless accident. The fact that the DNA of even the most “primitive” one-celled animals is crammed with complex meaningful, translatable information without which no cell could live is irrefutable evidence that our intelligent God created the information that makes life possible.

At the end of 2004, the newspapers called Antony Flew, a British professor who taught at Oxford and other leading universities, one of the world’s most influential atheists. The big news was his announcement that recent scientific discoveries had convinced him that a God exists. Flew said that investigation of DNA: “has shown, by the almost unbelievable complexity of the arrangements which are needed to produce life, that intelligence must have been involved”. {The Sunday Times - Britain, December 12, 2004 } He also said that evolutionary theory has no reasonable explanation for "the first emergence of living from non-living matter"—that is, the origin of life. He added that even if a living cell or primitive animal had somehow assembled itself from non-living chemicals, it would have had no ability to reproduce.
The fact that exposure to the evidence convinced even a long time atheist like Flew, makes it easy to understand the desperate fight to keep all evidence for our Creator out of the textbooks. School districts, which have wanted to include even the simple statement that evolution is a theory, have been hit by expensive, and sometimes successful, lawsuits claiming that evolution is science, and that these school districts were trying to bring religion into the public schools. Actually they were trying to keep the religion of naturalism from being taught to their students exclusively, as if it were the official approved religion of public schools and universities. I can think of no example in American history where censorship has been more effective than in keeping scientific evidence for creation out of the schools.

1. If there were more than one God, the universe would be in disorder because of multiple creators and authorities, but it is not in disorder; therefore, there is only one God.
2. Since God is a completely perfect being, there cannot be a second God, for they would have to differ in some way, and to differ from complete perfection is to be less than perfect and not be God.
3. Since God is infinite in His existence, He cannot have parts (for parts cannot be added to reach infinity). If God’s existence is not just a part of Him (which it is for all things which can have existence or not), then He must have infinite existence. Therefore, there cannot be two infinite beings, for one would have to differ from the other.
Someone may wish to argue that many of these would not rule out a sub-class of “gods,” and that is fine. Although we know this to be untrue biblically, there is nothing wrong with it in theory. In other words, God could have created a sub-class of “gods,” but it just happens to be the case that He did not. If He had, these “gods” would only be limited, created things—probably a lot like angels (Psalm 82). This does not hurt the case for monotheism, which does not say that there cannot be any other spirit beings—only that there cannot be more than one God. |

Radio has been in use for almost a hundred years. The Earth is surrounded by a sphere of intense electromagnetic activity almost 200 light years in diameter. It only gets more intense as time elapses. Short of bending space, there is no way we can ever take that information back. It’s on its way out to the cosmos, in every direction at the speed of light.
You can’t miss it. Natural phenomena, like supernovae and the cosmic microwave background radiation, have a characteristic signature that could never be confused with the orderly pulses of language and images. Information-theoretically, apples and oranges.
Radio is easy to invent, once you get to a certain stage as a civilization. You can’t afford not to invent it. Harnessing electromagnetic waves to facilitate near-light-speed communication among the members of a civilization is as natural as constructing shelter or combating disease.
The Milky Way galaxy is about ten billion years old. Yet it’s only a hundred thousand light years across. That’s a ratio of a hundred thousand to one. If there were aliens about, we’d be bathed in radio signals continuously. Maybe they showed up so recently that their radio waves haven’t hit us yet? Implausible. If life were to evolve in this galaxy, it would have done so already, and they’d be blasting us with their television dramas.
Perhaps alien civilizations have evolved to a medium of communication beyond electromagnetism? That could be the case, but then they’d be colonizing other worlds. Even moving at a tenth of the speed of light, saturating the galaxy with their presence would only take a mere million years, tops. But where are they?
Our solar system is appealing. We have a stable, mild star capable of providing billions of exawatts of free power to any alien race interested enough to set up shop here. There is no reason to pass us up. But our neighborhood is silent.
An advanced extraterrestrial civilization couldn’t be missed. Life is constructed to flourish and reproduce. At no point will it collectively say, “we’ve had enough”. Individual beings must explore, travel, and consume. Barring dictatorial control forbidding space travel, it’s bound to happen. Not as a trickle, but a flood. Once a form of travel becomes technologically feasible, it becomes progressively easier until millions can do it.
